Almighty God, you poured your Spirit upon gathered disciples, creating bold tongues, open ears, and a new community of faith. We confess that we hold back the force of your Spirit among us. We do not listen for your word of grace, speak the good news of your love, or live as a people made one in Christ. Have mercy on us, O God. Transform our timid lives by the power of your Spirit, and fill us with a desire to be your faithful people, doing your will for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.

O Lord, Our God, How Excellent
Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love. The fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.
Before our Maker’s throne we pour our ardent prayers. Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one, our comforts and our cares.
We share our mutual woes; our mutual burdens bear. And often for each other flows the sympathizing tear.
When we are called to part, it gives us inward pain; but we shall still be joined in heart, and hope to meet again.
From sorrow, toil, and pain, and sin we shall be free; and perfect love and friendship reign through all eternity.
We are led in worship today by some of our Stephen Ministers. Stephen Ministers at Pine Street are church members trained to offer care to people who are going through a crisis or life difficulty. It is a ministry of presence and compassion. The Stephen Ministers at Pine Street are Jane Freet, Marty Gruver, Linda McKillop, Sarah Pearce, Keith Perago, and Jesse Weigel.
