PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Source of all wisdom, you have called us to honor your word and showered us with blessing when we have followed your counsel. You have sent your Spirit to purify us deep within, so that we may follow your way single-heartedly, even when other voices and inner desires call us away from you. Yet we have disregarded your precepts, and grieved your sanctifying Spirit. In mercy, forgive us for resisting you. By your boundless love draw us near to yourself that with joy and gratitude we may honor you faithfully. The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. PINE STREET WALKERS, MAY 16

232 miles of the 2,190-mile Appalachian Trail run through southeastern and eastern Pennsylvania. We in the Cumberland and Susquehanna Valleys live near the midpoint of the Trail where many sections can be hiked with relative ease. Pine Street Walkers will hike a section on Sunday, May 16th that is more of a walk than a hikeflat, diverse, rich in flora and fauna, and 3-4 miles out and back. If you’ve never set foot on the national treasure that is the Appalachian Trail, this is the time. No special hiking gear is required just sturdy shoes and some insect repellant. Meet at Barb Neff's home, 16 Westfields Drive, Mechanicsburg 17050, at 1:30 to carpool to the trailhead just minutes away. Email Stevi Sharp, jsesharp@comcast.net, if you plan to attend.
