PRAYER OF PREPARATION
God of all ages, make us real or make us nothing. As we sing “Hosanna!” bring us to the foot of the cross. As we wave palms, show us your tomb. On this day of praise and passion, help us to hold the tension between life and death and to learn the mystery that you are in both. Teach us to turn our faces toward you and help us to bear witness, that we might testify always to your faithfulness. Amen.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Philippians 2:5-11 Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue shall confess to the glory of God: Jesus Christ is Lord!
