Definitions The App
This is where you will sign up for EVERYTHING and where you can read CONNECTIONS magazine and soooo much more!
RSVP
We have a culture of RESPONDING. If something we are offering asks for you to RSVP we are counting on your response so we can plan. Both yes and no are responses.
Childcare
This is offered ONLY with an RSVP for offerings after the school day. Compass Night, Glass Classroom, etc.
Guided/ Unguided
Guided refers to teachers being availble to walk with you and answer questions. Unguided means the activity is designed to speak for itself.
Backyard unavailable
This means that no parent or child should be in the backyard nor on any play equipment/pavillion/picnic table, etc.
NOON DISMISSAL
The entire school closes at 12 noon. No PM Extended Care. You must make arrangements to have your child picked up at 12 noon.
After School For after school family activities... please park your and walk up to the teacher at dismissal to collect Family Activities caryour child. Then walk to the activity and enjoy! Teacher Experiences
These are part of The EVENT and are purchased the night of or later on if space is availble. They are only for the ages that are listed.
Your Eyes Watching
This symbol will be used all throughout this document to remind you that you must be supervisoning and supporting your child at all times whilst on campus during events. We want you to enjoy yourselves and watch your child.
Play in the Park
We observed how you sit in the backyard and have created something amazing... come see!
Come play WITH your child!

Held the 2nd Friday of each month, weather permitting, after school til 4:30.
Bake Sale Upper Elementary students are practicing their baking skills and their hospitality skills during our monthly Play in the Park. Consider joining us!
Rain or Shine If you child is in Extended Care simply send their dollar or two in a ziploc bag and we will take them shopping. Bake sale ends at 4pm.
You will recieve a flyer...similar to this one that they made, listing the goodies and the prices.
Compass Nights This comes up quick but we want to start the school year off to a great strong beginning! Meet the other families in your child’s class, meet the teachers and begin to build community and reconnect! These meetings are designed to set the course and direction for your child’s school year. You will learn about the discoveries that lie ahead this year and how you can help support your child, their classroom, and our school. RSVP in the APP so that we have 100%
attendance!!! We take a parent ”class” photo each year!

International Day of Peace To celebrate International Day of Peace each year we send home an activity to be completed as a family! Bring this back to Pines and share with the whole school. Marvel at your creativity!
Friday, 18 September after school until 6:15 pm
International Day of Peace During this time walk about the prepared space and interact with the Peace activities that are placed outside the classrooms and around the Peace Garden.

It’s beginning to feel like Fall!
Guided by our Middle School students, our Infants through Upper El will dress in ways that support our Winter Cultural Festival studies. Find your favorite spot and have your camera ready!

Thanksgiving Feast Friday, November 20th 10:30 am
Noon dismissal
Historically this brings over 250 folks to eat turkey at 10:30 in the morning! Such a wonderful family get together! Upper Elementary students serve and we all enjoy. Once you’re full... enjoy the entire week off getting ready for another Thanksgiving!

Thursday, December 17th is our Winter Cultural Festival. From 3:00 - 5:00 It is also a noon dismissal day...just come back at 3:00! Passports will be issued to each child and then you and your whole family are free to wander the world!
There will be food booths from all the cultures.
Students have been working towards this day all semester. Many hours of cultural studies, art and cooking, Middle School has plenty of research to share as well!

Glass Classroom Saturday, Feb 6, 2027 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Only 20 spots available for this once a year parent event! 8 Montessori trained teachers are preparing a full morning for those who register. Cost is $30 per person or $40 per two peoplesame family. 1 Montessori book included with each registration! Childcare and snacks included. Surprise Guest Speaker to end the day! Sign up in the APP!

Snowballs in Southeast Texas?
With the help of Bahama Bucks we will have a fun time in the snow after the run! At the same time we invite families to join us for some pancakes, hot chocolate, with Pines-made whipped cream. All proceeds go right back into the backyard!
Time Childcare Location
3:15- 4:30 pm give or take None needed. You are with your child. In the Backyard. Map will be provided! Your runner will be in the backyard awaiting the race. Just come on back! Attendance Your child really wants to there! Who attends? Anyone and everyone you want to invite! Grandparents? YES! RSVP Registration took place back in November with Running Club. Communities Toddlers- Upper El Backyard Only available for Snowball Run. After the run, the backyard is unavailable.
Valen-PINES Day
How we celebrate! We have created a FUN new way to celebrate ValenPines Day! We send home a project for you and your child to work on and bring back to school to share with their class. This is how we show LOVE! No need for cards from the store that will only end up in recyling! N No need for food because our kitchen will send a homemade treat to each child.

NOW is the time to be thinking about who you want to invite! Be the FIRST to sign your child and yourself up for one of a kind Teacher Experiences. This is an Adult ONLY event so start arranging a babysitter. Some families share a sitter for the night... some use Clubhouse Playcare on Northpark.

Join us the night before the parade to decorate and have a hot dog cookout! It’s NEVER too early to start freezing your ice pops!
