A Look in Lower Elementary
Helpful Hints for August Summer is slowly sliping away as we turn the corner to the whole school coming back together in August. Here are some suggestions from the teachers to begin the Fall strong. We are updating our carline videos and handbooks so please be on the lookout for them very soon! In the meantime... This video is an oldie but goodie.
Begin to reestablish school rountines- start going to bed a few minutes earlier each night. Invite your child to help shop for healthy breakfast selections that they can fix for themselves each morning. If you have been away this summer, stop by over the weekend and walk around the school and play in the backyar. Please do not pull on any of the doors! The alarm will go off! Start looking for clothing and shoes that are easy to wear for school. Use this time to label EVERYTHING. Identify a good water bottle and practice opening and closing. Creat a place in your home for placing belongings after school to avoid the morning rush. Elementary and Middle School students- create a place for them to do work that they choose to bring home- free from all distractions. Dial back electronics and screen time. Honor all emotions. Changes in routines can be BOTH exciting and scary at the same time.
