April marks my one-year anniversary at the Club, and words truly cannot express how much I appreciate the kindness and support I have received from all of you. Julie and I are in the process of purchasing a home in the community, and we look forward to many years of serving you.

Over the past 12 months, I have been committed to listening and learning how things are done at Pine Island. With nearly 60 years of history, the traditions and culture of this Club have been thoughtfully built over time Along the way, we have implemented several operational and even cultural changes that I hope have strengthened your experience and confidence in the Club’s future

As with any club, there are many moving parts across multiple departments. It is important that we operate with intention not simply reacting to challenges, but proactively shaping the culture we aspire to build. With that in mind, my team and I rely on four core pillars to define success:

We are committed to ensuring that you—and your guests—feel genuinely welcomed every time you arrive. Our goal is for the Club to feel like an extension of your home, where you can relax and leave the stresses of everyday life behind.

These four pillars serve as the foundation for our staff training and guide our decision-making as we continue to build for the long term.

COURSE UPDATE

March aerification was a success! Moving the date towards better weather looks to be a great call and lead to a smooth process. Verticutting greens will take place in a few weeks to help with thatch reduction, thinning the canopy, promoting lateral growth and smoother ball roll. This will be coupled with an increase in topdressing as we dive into the Bentgrass growing season.

Our staff is getting excited about May as we begin to mow and get back into a routine. We do have some new faces we will be training throughout May but should be in great shape as we head into June. Hoses will be out and about and will become more prevalent heading to summer.

Our continued goal is to provide excellent course conditions while enhancing the overall experience for our members.

Spring is here, and we’re still riding the wave of all the fun we had in March! From the moment the music started playing to the last toast of the evening, last month was filled with great energy and even better company Our First Friday nights set the perfect tone, Flight Club brought everyone together over shared favorites, and the Bird Box Making event added a creative touch that we won’t soon forget. And of course, Birthday Night gave us the chance to celebrate some very special members.

As we step into April, we’re keeping that momentum going and building on everything you loved about March. The sounds of Live Music will once again fill the space on First Friday, giving you the perfect backdrop to relax and unwind. We’ll also be celebrating Easter together, bringing a festive and welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for gathering with friends and family.

If you enjoyed last month’s tastings, you’ll be happy to know Flight Club is back, offering new selections and pairings to explore And for those looking to try something a little different, we’re introducing a Yoga Class. A great way to reset, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful start to your day.

April is also about connection and community. Our New Member Mixer is the perfect opportunity to meet new faces and strengthen friendships, while Couples 9 & Dine brings a fun blend of golf and dining, ideal for a relaxed and memorable date night For a little "friendly" competition, the Pine Cup is sure to bring excitement to the month.

And of course, we’ll wrap it all together with another Birthday Night, because there’s no better way to celebrate than surrounded by great people, delicious food, and a toast (or two).

Behind it all, our food and beverage team is embracing the season with fresh flavors, lighter fare, and refreshing cocktails designed to complement every event and occasion.

April is shaping up to be a month full of energy, connection, and unforgettable moments, and we can’t wait to experience it all with you.
