Arizona City was founded in 1959 with a 2.5 acre purchase. The site was selected because of the abundance of deep water from the Santa Cruz River. In 1960, Arizona City was promoted as “The Newest Model City in the U.S.A.”
Today, Arizona City is 6.2 square miles and remains a census-designated place in Pinal County. While not the newest model city in 2026, it is a good place to live, raise a family and enjoy the Sonoran desert climate.

The Arizona City Chamber of Commerce was formed in the 1960’s and remains in place today. Though the founders’ initial vision that Arizona City and the Chamber of Commerce be a big city operation has not come to pass, our community continues to grow and welcome new residents. PINAL COUNTY: ARIZONA’S NEXT GROWTH CORRIDOR
Pinal County is rapidly emerging as one of Arizona’s most important regions for economic growth and opportunity. Strategically located between the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas, the county sits directly along the Interstate 10 corridor—one of the most critical transportation and commerce routes in the Southwest. This location places Pinal County at the center of expanding regional investment, new job creation, and business development.
As Arizona continues to grow, the I-10 corridor through Pinal County is becoming a major economic engine for the state. The region has seen significant growth in advanced manufacturing, logistics, technology, and supply chain industries. With access to major transportation infrastructure, available land for development, and a growing workforce, Pinal County provides businesses with the space and connectivity needed to expand and thrive.
Communities along the corridor are positioned to benefit from this growth, including Arizona City, which offers convenient access to the I-10 corridor and nearby employment centers such as Casa Grande and the broader Phoenix–Tucson
megaregion. Arizona City provides residents and businesses with a unique combination of accessibility, affordability, and community character, making it an attractive location for future residential and commercial development.
Pinal County continues to support this momentum through investments in infrastructure, public services, and community facilities. The Pinal County Library and Community Center in Arizona City, which opened in 2023, serves as an important hub for education, community programming, and public engagement while supporting the continued growth of the community.
As one of Arizona’s fastest-growing counties, Pinal County is committed to working with local communities, businesses, and regional partners to ensure responsible growth and longterm economic success. With its strategic location, expanding infrastructure, and strong community partnerships, Pinal County—and communities like Arizona City—are positioned to play a key role in the future of Arizona’s economic development.
As a candidate for County Supervisor in 2020, I saw something special in Arizona City. I recognized significant opportunities for Pinal County to invest resources and improve the overall quality of life for its residents. When I took office in 2021, I hit the ground running to fulfill the ideas and commitments I made during my campaign.
Within my first year, we began improving local roads and developing plans to expand the community’s small library. Those efforts ultimately exceeded our expectations. In July 2023, the Pinal County Library and Community Center in Arizona City officially opened, providing a modern facility that now serves as a vital meeting space and hub for a wide range of community needs.
Beyond this landmark project, important road and infrastructure improvements have been supported and completed throughout Arizona City. Many of these efforts occurred during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,
yet Pinal County remained committed to delivering the development and investment the community needed and deserved. I have also proudly supported community events through partnerships with the fire department, local organizations, and churches.
I value every opportunity to visit with the residents of Arizona City and hear their concerns firsthand. During the 2022 redistricting process, I strongly advocated for keeping Arizona City within my district because its residents’ needs matter. Arizona City has been, and will continue to be, a top priority for me. It is an honor to represent the people and community of Arizona City.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office serves more than 500,000 residents across a county about the size of Connecticut. Our team includes more than 500 employees, with over 200 sworn deputies dedicated to protecting our communities. In Arizona City, our deputies are out every day conducting patrols, responding to calls, investigating crimes, and connecting with residents and business owners.
Traffic safety is also a priority for us. Safe streets support daily life and local commerce. Through focused enforcement and public education, we work to reduce collisions and
encourage responsible driving habits that keep everyone safe.
We continue to invest in modern technology and specialized resources so we can respond quickly, operate efficiently, and maintain transparency with the public.
I took office as the 25th Sheriff of Pinal County on January 1, 2025, after years of service in the Navy, the Arizona Department of Corrections, and this agency. I remain committed to upholding the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Arizona while protecting the rights and freedoms of every citizen.

PINAL COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
The Pinal County Fire and Medical Authority (PCFMA) was formed in 2026 to expand the original Arizona City Fire District. (PCFMA) is a family of public safety professionals whose mission is to provide exceptional customer service; dedicated to saving lives and property through prevention, preparedness, problemsolving, and effective emergency response to all members of our community. We are here to serve our community with courage, commitment and compassion.
It is the mission of the Pinal County Fire and Medical Authority to provide a safe environment for the members of our community through prevention, education, and response, in order to save lives and preserve property.
The District consists of 21 full-time employees working within the Fire and EMS system. The department has one Fire/ Rescue Station located in Arizona City. The Station is located at 14022 S. Sunland Gin Road. Our department responds to over
3000 calls for service per year. We provide Fire/Rescue and Advanced Life Support Service to the customers of the Pinal County Fire and Medical Authority.
The Pinal County Fire and Medical Authority is committed to Public and Community Service. The Fire Authority has annually championed the (5) largest Community Events in Arizona City for at least the past 11 years. The largest event being the Summer Water and Safety Days Event. The event runs all Summer long, 3 days a week.
The Summer Water and Safety Days event sees on an average of 115 children daily. This event is entirely manned by the Fire District employees and many dedicated volunteers. We not only provide a safe environment for the children of this area but we also feed them lunch daily free of charge.
The Pinal County Fire and Medical Authority prides itself on being a valued added Community Services Partner well beyond just responding to Fire and Emergency medical calls.

Arizona City is right in the heart of the Golden Corridor of Pinal County – conveniently located in between Phoenix and Tucson. Our community currently has a year-round population of approximately 15-16,000 residents however during the winter months the population increases with seasonal residents that come to enjoy our Sonoran Desert climate.
While Arizona City maintains a small- town feel it provides a public library, an 18- hole golf course, several restaurants, K-8 schools, a Boys & Girls Club, day care and a post office. There is a private residential lake that allows for peaceful views as you drive around the lake.
Arizona City also offers several convenience stores, a grocery store, churches of many different denominations, a full- time fire department and a sheriff sub-station. Several options
for health care are available in Arizona City, Desert Senita Community Healthcare offers a full service clinic including dental and pharmacy and ABC Family Healthcare offers family healthcare as well as med spa options. Both Casa Grande and Eloy have hospitals within 15 miles of Arizona City.
Housing in Arizona City is available in many options ranging from single family and multi-family homes, townhouses and apartments as well as manufactured home parks. RV parks such as High Chaparral or Quail Run RV Resort offer park model homes as well as RV sites.

The driving force behind the development of Arizona City was its water! Surveys have shown that in certain areas in the Santa Cruz Valley, close to the Sawtooth Mountains, southwest of Arizona City, there existed an abundance of deep water. The source of the water is the Santa Cruz River, which flows north from Mexico, one of the few in North America that do.

Toltec School District #22 proudly serves families in the communities of Eloy and Arizona City in Pinal County.
As a rural, comprehensive school district, we are dedicated to providing a high-quality educational experience for nearly 1,200 students across our two K–8 schools. Our preschool is located on the Arizona City Elementary School campus.

Arizona City students attend secondary schools in Casa Grande. Casa Grande Union High School and Vista Grande High School are the public high schools. Casa Grande also offers a wide range of other high school choices for parents to review before determining what works best for their child.

In 2020, there were 318 homes sold in Arizona City at a median price of $177,500. In 2025 there were 429 homes sold in Arizona City at a median price of $254,900. That is an increase of 43.66% in 5 years.
Both residential building continues in 2026 on a daily basis and there have been commercial additions as well.
8,000-9,000 BUILDABLE LOTS
There are an estimated 8,000-9,000 buildable lots in Arizona City with 5,422 sewer permits for residential buildings along with 77 commercial sewer permits. The number of lots without a building is estimated at approximately 2,500-3,000.
15-16,000 2026 POPULATION ESTIMATE
The 2020 census put the population at 10,475. Given the current number of sewer permits on record that would put the current 2026 population estimate at somewhere between 15-16,000.

The Arizona City Library is a welcoming environment where people connect with books and other resources for lifelong learning, information, and leisure to enrich their quality of life. It is a countyoperated public library of Pinal County.
Free library cards are available to legal residents of Pinal County. Residents who are under 18 years of age must have their parents/ guardians' written permission to get a library card. The first library card is free; after that, there will be a replacement fee for lost or destroyed cards. All patrons must pay outstanding fines before borrowing materials.
Services
• This small library offers a wide variety of books, DVDs, audio, computers, and internet connections for patrons.
• Computer stations are available for patrons. Patrons may use the computers for up to two hours per day.
• Story Times and Reading Programs are offered regularly. Call the library for the current schedule.
• Adults may participate in a monthly book discussion group.

ARIZONA CITY RECREATION
Driving down Sunland Gin, you’ll hear basketballs bouncing and kids playing in the park. It is the only public park in all of Arizona City. The First Baptist Church in Arizona City owns and maintains the park. In 1962, the Arizona Land Commission deeded 5 acres of choice land on the main street running through unincorporated Arizona City to Southern Baptist Pastor Morris Mulkey on one condition - that a church building would begin construction within 6 months. Pastor Mulkey kept his promise and First Baptist Church of Arizona City (FBC) was organized under the Arizona Southern Baptist Church Convention, a 501c3 IRS organization, and began construction on its first building in May 1963. From the beginning and continuing today, the church exists to promote spiritual support and help meet practical needs of our community. As the population of Arizona City grew, it became necessary to build an elementary school. The best suited land for the school was also home to the only public park. Developers promised to try to relocate the park, but with time and money quickly fleeting, the only place in Arizona City for families to gather for recreation was never relocated.
First Baptist Church had a vision to be a community partner from its beginning. In the early 1970’s several pieces of playground equipment were installed on approximately two acres. With no fences or gates surrounding it, the community was welcome to use it year-round. Today, the original equipment still serves the community. Today the church is a healthy organization with over 50 members. New programs have been started to meet needs in Arizona City like Carols in the Park and Faith and Flavor Fest. These programs are offered to the community, free of charge, regardless of attendance or membership to the church.
A playground committee was formed in 2016 to begin the work of refurbishing and revitalizing the playground. The changes brought a picnic area, soccer field, additions to the kids’ area, basketball court and volleyball court. we aren't done yet! We hope to add more to the playground and possibly a pickleball court. There are more pieces to be added as funds become available.
You are invited to be a part of this playground project too. No donation is too small to play a big part in making our park into something beautiful and useful for our community. There is no timeline to accomplish this endeavor, but we are committed to making it debt free. And so, as the funds are available more improvements will be made.
ARIZONA CITY RECREATION
PARADISE LAKE
Paradise Lake is a 48 acre man-made lake nestled in the heart of Arizona City. Developed in 1969, it is the biggest residential private lake in Pinal County, complete with a mega fountain at the center. Lake residents fish, boat and sail from their own backyard. Boats are limited to electric motors. Wildlife seen on the lake include various types of fish, turtles, ducks, geese, owls, pelicans, seagulls and more. This manmade lake is supplied solely by groundwater. To this day the lake is maintained by the Paradise Lake Association (PLA) which is a nonprofit group comprised of members who are owners of homes or vacant properties on the lake.
PICACHO PEAK STATE PARK
Visitors and residents traveling along the I-10 in southern Arizona can’t miss the prominent 1,500 foot peak of Picacho Peak State Park. The Picacho Peak State Park first acquired land in 1966 with an initial purchase of 640 acres. However, since then it has acquired an additional 3,107 acres totaling 3,747 acres to date. Enjoy the weather as you hike the trails that wind up the peak as you overlook a sea of wildflowers, predominately Mexican Gold Poppies, in the spring. The park and surrounding area is known for its unique geological significance, outstanding and varied desert growth, and historical importance. Picacho Peak’s most noted historic event occurred on April 15, 1862, when Confederate and Union scouting parties met in the Battle of Picacho Pass during the Civil War. The park offers a natural habitat for many animals found in the Sonoran Desert which includes many species of mammals, reptiles, birds and invertebrates as well. Picacho Peak State Park is open year round and offers hiking, picnic/ shelter areas, playgrounds, grills, showers/restrooms, RV and campground, four ramadas, visitor center with exhibits, a gift shop and more. Before you hike or spend the day at the park make sure you are prepared with enough water, proper footwear and remember to be safe, especially in the summer.
