Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte left Manila from Villamor Airbase bound for the Hague, Netherlands, hours after he was served an Interpol arrest warrant on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. The arrest was at the request of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for Duterte’s alleged crimes against humanity related to his bloody “war on drugs,” which killed thousands of Filipinos. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. confirmed the arrest in a press conference, saying, “I am confident the arrest was proper, correct, and followed all necessary legal procedures…We did not help the International Criminal Court in any way.
