YOUR SPRING-CLEANING GUIDE: TIPS THAT ACTUALLY WORK HEALTHFUL HOBBIES FOR A MELLOW SPRING HEALTHY FAST FOOD OPTIONS SUMMER SMARTER, NOT HARDER & MORE
Spring is here, and there’s no better time to refresh your home and reset your routines. Whether you’re tackling clutter, deep-cleaning, or simply looking to renew your space, a thoughtful approach can make the process less daunting (and maybe even enjoyable). Use these simple tips and tricks to streamline your spring-cleaning and cultivate an environment that feels lighter, brighter, and ready for the season ahead!
Create and stick to a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning schedule that feels realistic and manageable for your lifestyle. A consistent routine makes maintaining a clean home easier and less overwhelming.
• Daily: Make your bed, wash dishes, wipe surfaces, sweep floors, tidy clutter, put away laundry
• Weekly: Vacuum and mop, clean bathrooms, change sheets and towels, dust surfaces, empty trash, wipe appliances
• Monthly: Clean furniture, clean inside appliances, wipe baseboards and doors, dust fans and vents, clean cabinet faces and windowsills
• Annually: Deep clean furniture and carpets/rugs, declutter pantry and garage, clean gutters and HVAC vents, deep clean fireplace/chimney, deep clean outdoor spaces
Clearing what you no longer need creates space, reduces stress, and makes cleaning and organizing easier and more effective. Decluttering also ensures your space is functional and easy to maintain.

A consistent routine makes maintaining a clean home easier and less overwhelming.
• Declutter regularly in small, manageable moments
• If it takes less than 5 minutes to put something away, do it now to avoid pile up
• Eliminate duplicates
• Follow the One In, One Out rule: for every item that you bring in, an existing item should be removed
• Use the 90/90 Rule: if you haven’t used it in the last 90 days and won’t in the next 90, let it go
• Digitize sentimental items when possible
• Pause before purchasing, if you wouldn’t buy it again, don’t buy it at all
• Rehome items by selling, donating, giving away, or upcycling
Organizing your home creates systems that make routines easier and help prevent clutter from returning. Work slowly and intentionally to build habits that last.
• Organize in small sections rather than tackling your entire home at once
• Set aside consistent time and work at a manageable pace
• Give every item a designated “home”
• If an item doesn’t have a place, consider letting it go
• Keep frequently used items visible and easily accessible
• Store rarely used items in drawers, cabinets, or less visible areas
• Use labels to maintain organization and make items easy to find
• Use containers such as bins, baskets, jars, totes, or drawer organizers
• Follow the 5/7 Rule: items not used most days of the week should be stored away
• Assess furniture for wear and tear and replace items as needed

Refreshing your home helps it feel renewed, comfortable, and ready for the season ahead. Focus on small updates that make a noticeable impact.
• Clean the tools that clean your home before deep cleaning your space
• Assess furniture for wear and tear and replace items as needed
• Refresh household essentials such as bedding, linens, shower liners, air filters, light bulbs, and smoke or carbon monoxide batteries
• Bring in plants and fresh flowers to add life indoors and outdoors
• Rearrange furniture to improve flow, boost your mood, and keep your space feeling fresh
Whether you tackle one drawer at a time or full rooms, spring-cleaning doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Remember to stay focused on steady progress and practical routines, and your effort will create a space that feels welcoming, functional, and fresh.

Warmer weather and greener landscapes are a welcome sight in the new season, and can be a source of joy following the cold and dreary winter. Despite this, the daily stressors of life remain ever-present. Whether from work or family responsibilities, stress is a major threat to physical and mental health. Finding ways to unwind is essential. The following activities promote health, happiness, and relaxation by immersing your mind in the present, allowing you to fully focus on creating something new, solving a problem, or moving your body.

Creating art is a great way to relieve stress and express your creativity. Activities like drawing and painting allow you to channel your thoughts and feelings into a physical object, providing an emotional outlet that is engaging and cathartic. If the process of creating art from scratch seems intimidating, coloring is a good alternative. Try adult coloring books with intricate designs to reduce stress and promote mindfulness.

Knitting and crocheting involve repetitive motions that can be immersive and meditative. These activities keep your mind engaged in the task at hand, distracting you from sources of stress, and motivating you with a visual indication of your progress. When your project is complete, you’ll have a homemade clothing item, blanket, or doll that you can be proud of and share with your loved ones.

Gardening allows you to enjoy the outdoors and connect with nature. Moreover, the vitamin D that you soak in from the sun can be a big boost to physical and mental health. Caring for your plants is an engaging and rewarding hobby, and the fresh ingredients you harvest can be a great source of nutrients. Try planting low-maintenance flowers, vegetables, or herbs if you’re just starting out.

Reading is a wonderful way to relax, learn new things, and promote concentration. Picking up a new book about a subject you enjoy or revisiting an old favorite allows you to take a break from your everyday worries and get transported to a different world for a while. Choose books from your favorite genres and create a comfortable reading nook in your home.

Listening to music can relieve stress and boost your mood with an enjoyable sensory experience. The emotional resonance of music can also provide a cathartic outlet for your thoughts and feelings, and can connect you to others with shared tastes and interests. Play a favorite album or discover something new through music streaming services or recommendations from friends.

Puzzles are an entertaining way to improve cognitive function and relieve stress by engaging your brain. Jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and Sudoku puzzles are just a few examples of brain teasers you can use to improve your problem-solving skills and enhance your memory. Getting absorbed in solving a problem is an excellent tool for getting your mind off of other stressors.

Exercise is the classic way to promote health and relieve stress. Exercise releases endorphins, mood-boosting chemicals that promote happiness and alleviate pain. Choose an activity that’s fun for you, whether it’s running, dancing, or lifting weights. Walking outdoors is an easy, relaxing way to get some vitamin D and improve cardiovascular health.

Journaling is therapeutic. It can help you process your thoughts and emotions, or work as a tool to help you review your day and plan for the future. You can invest in an appealing journal and pens, or start jotting your thoughts down on scrap paper or a digital notebook. If you have a hard time getting started, select a journal with daily prompts or look up ideas online to guide your writing.
As the season of growth and renewal, spring is the perfect time to pick up a new hobby or return to ones you’ve enjoyed in the past. By expressing your creativity, challenging your brain, and connecting with nature, these hobbies can draw you away from the stress of everyday life and bring you a sense of calm in its place. Keep these activities light-hearted, allowing yourself to try out new things, make mistakes, connect with others, and develop a sense of pride in all that you can accomplish.

As 2026 progresses, employers are navigating a shifting benefits landscape driven by rising employee financial stress, growing interest in mental fitness and EAPs, and increasing demand for holistic wellness programs. New OBBA provisions are expanding access to HSAs and DCAs, while student loan assistance programs are becoming a more valuable recruitment and retention tool. To stay competitive, employers must reevaluate and strengthen their benefits offerings to meet evolving employee needs and expectations.

Hospital indemnity (Medical Bridge) insurance provides cash benefits directly to you when you’re hospitalized or receive certain treatments, helping cover expenses your regular health plan doesn’t pay for. Since traditional health insurance often leaves gaps, like deductibles, ER costs, and lost income, this supplemental coverage offers financial relief you can use on anything from bills to groceries.

Pre‑tax benefits reduce your taxable income by deducting premiums before taxes, which can increase your take‑home pay and offer immediate tax savings. Post‑tax benefits are deducted after taxes. Understanding the difference helps you understand how the deductions for your coverage will impact your taxable income and paycheck.

Short‑term disability provides income for temporary conditions like injuries or childbirth recovery, typically lasting a few weeks to months. Long‑term disability kicks in for more serious or chronic conditions, offering income protection for years or even until retirement. Together, they create a safety net to protect your finances.

As the days grow longer and temperatures get warmer, summer is officially on the horizon and for many of us the excitement and planning around Summer Break is already underway! To help you soak up every moment, here are a few practical hacks to make this your best summer yet.
Early July, Late August, and Labor Day weekend are some of the busiest and most expensive times to travel. To avoid spiked prices, crowds, and overbooked attractions, consider scheduling your vacation either before or after these peak periods.
For those tied to school schedules, early June can sometimes offer cost savings and less congestion compared to midsummer months. For solo travelers or those with more calendar flexibility, there are often travel deals in the months surrounding June, July, and August. These “shoulder seasons” can provide cost savings and less congestion due to decreased demand.
Planning key elements of your trip in advance can save you time, stress, and money. Booking airfare, hotels, car rentals, and major activities early help you lock in better pricing before demand or timing inflates costs.
Even if you prefer to “wing it”, having a loose schedule gives you a realistic sense of your time and will help you avoid overpacking your days or missing out on something you really wanted to do.
Are you looking to take a city by storm or get lost in natural beauty? Knowing your travel style and priorities can help you tailor your itinerary into an unforgettable experience.

Don’t feel obligated to follow popular tourist checklists just because “everyone does it.” Some of the most memorable moments come from wandering off the beaten path, discovering hidden gems, and saying yes to unexpected experiences. That said, “touristy” attractions are often famous for a reason — many provide unforgettable views, cultural moments, or incredible photo ops. The perfect trip is one that reflects your interests, so plan a mix that makes you excited to wake up and explore each day!
For those with kids who get a little restless once school lets out, summer camps can be a game-changer. Whether it’s outdoor adventure, science and coding, sports, or art, there are countless options that can help keep kids engaged and entertained.
Be sure to look into the different program structures available based on your schedule and needs, like half- or full-day programs or week- and month-long camps.
Kids aren’t the only ones who can use this time to learn something fun and new. Adults can take advantage of the season, too. Many communities and plenty of online platforms offer classes (some free!) in everything from blacksmithing and glassblowing to cooking, fishing, painting, and even axe-throwing.
If there’s a skill or interest you’ve always wanted to explore (or if you simply want a great story for your next team icebreaker), summer is the perfect time to jump in. You might even surprise yourself with a new passion!
Even with sunshine calling, it’s easy to spend the season indoors, caught up in the latest series, game, or movie. But taking a day, or even just a few hours, to unplug can do wonders for a mental reset.
Many local State and National Parks offer the perfect backdrop for a restorative break. Whether you want to picnic, hike, camp, paddle, or simply soak in the sun, stepping into nature is an easy but powerful way to slow down, reconnect, and leave the stressors of everyday life behind.
Wherever summer takes you, whether that’s across the globe or just down the street, there’s wonder waiting to be found and adventure within reach — you just have to be willing to embrace your options!
