Annual Open Enrollment is Coming! It's almost time: Annual Open Enrollment is almost here! The 2027 Benefits enrollment window begins on Oct. 9 and runs through Nov. 6, 2026. Please note that open enrollment is the only time of year current employees can adjust benefits and add or remove dependents without a qualifying life event (QLE), such as marriage or having a baby.
The 2027 Benefits Guide and virtual information sessions will be posted soon!
Now is the Time: Get Your Flu Shot The flu shot is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and the people around you. It lowers your chances of getting seriously sick and helps reduce strain on our health care system. The flu vaccine is free for all City employees. There are three City-sponsored events left, but if you can't get to one of the remaining events, you can still get the shot at the Employee Health Care Clinic or through your own provider.

Your Help Needed - Telework Audit The City Auditor Department is conducting a telework audit to help ensure the effectiveness and integrity of our telework program. Over the next several weeks, we kindly ask for your cooperation as our audit team gathers important information. As part of this process, the team will reach out to randomly selected teleworking employees to confirm their schedules and practices. If you are contacted, your participation is greatly appreciated and will help us improve telework arrangements Citywide. Phoenix is now a Certified Autism Center™ The certification comes after more than 80% of front-facing City employees, including Police and Fire personnel, received specialized training to better support and serve autistic and sensorysensitive individuals. Today, Phoenix is the largest municipality in the country to earn the CAC designation. Thank you and congratulations to all City employees that were part of making this happen. Starting Oct. 2: AI Knowledge Forums The City of Phoenix is launching the AI Knowledge Forum, a monthly lunchtime series where employees can explore practical, real‑world uses of artificial intelligence in City operations. This forum is a conversation space, not a technical training. Employees from any department can share challenges, discuss ideas, and look at how newly approved AI tools might help make daily work easier, faster, or more effective. Sessions highlight relatable examples and responsible technology use. Employees are encouraged to bring current challenges or opportunities from their department to spark discussion and learn from colleagues.

Vote for Healthy Food The Offices of Environmental Programs and Public Health are launching a campaign to increase access to healthy, inclusive food options at City events and programs. The campaign will share tips and tricks to make menus more accessible for all Phoenix residents, and it will include hands-on training for City staff who purchase food using City funds.

This role supports thousands of residents by providing education, resolving housing concerns, and conducting client assessments. The position also develops outreach materials and delivers training to community groups. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the Arizona Landlord and Tenant Residential Act, strong computer skills, and excellent presentation and organizational skills.

The City of Phoenix has goals to reach 50% waste diversion by 2030 and zero waste by 2050, consistent with the goals set by the City’s Climate Action Plan.
