Barbara J. Bloch

February 21, 1972 – February 14, 2026

Barbara, our beloved wife, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026.

Barbara was born in Bellingham, WA, on February 21, 1972, to parents Edward and Lorene (Gudmundson) Meck. She moved with her family at two years old from a small farm in Blaine down to Ferndale, where she spent her childhood in a loving family home with two older siblings. She comes from a large extended Gudmundson/Breidford family of Blaine and surrounding areas. Many holidays, weekends, and vacations were spent with cousins, aunts, uncles, and her grandmother. Barbara worked from her teenage years up to her passing, mostly in the customer service field, as she always approached people with her beautiful smile and easy spirit, which earned praise for her loving personality.

Barbara graduated from Ferndale High School in 1990. She met the love of her life, Mike Bloch, and they were married on April 10, 2004, in Elizabeth Park on a beautiful sunny day. Barbara and Mike never had children, so they enjoyed traveling, attending concerts (never missing seeing the Foo Fighters), spending time with family, and were also parents to many dogs and cats over the years, with their current dog being Beau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward J. Meck in 2016 and Lorene J. Meck in 2025.

Survivors include her husband, Mike Bloch, and dog, Beau; siblings: Ken (Kristy) Meck, Carol (Rick) Schusster, and sisters-inlaw Ann (Matt) Berger and Robin (Andy) Betts; nephews and nieces: Ashley (Tyler) Boesen, Erika (Gilbert) Dorland, Logan (Fayth Buck) Meck, Elliott Berger, Olivia (Logan) Berger, Sophia Berger, and Aidan Betts; great nephews and nieces: Jackson and Zoey Roberts, Gilbert and Gage Dorland, Dakota and Margot Boesen, and Layla and Baker Perdue.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 1, at 11 a.m. at Westford Funeral Home (1301 Broadway, Bellingham), with a reception following across the street at Westford’s Broadway Hall.
