Shoppers in Prince George will soon have more options to fill their cupboards and fridges, as work is now underway on two new grocery stores in the city. major chain grocery store locations in Prince George. Those include a Real Canadian Superstore, which is also owned by Loblaws. The planned FreshCo will be the only Sobeys-owned store in Prince George. When a Citizen reporter visited the two sites, excavation work was already underway at both, with workers confirming the work was being done to construct the two stores. As well, construction work at the future FreshCo location has closed a portion of Recplace Dr., beginning at the turnoff to the adjacent GoodLife Fitness location and ending at the intersection of Recreation Avenue. The FreshCo location will open in a highly competitive area of the city off Highway 16 West, with both Costco and Real Canadian Superstore located a short drive away. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE
