Greensteam Efficient energy from biomass: electricity and heat for the future Micro-CHP system based on an innovative, fuel-flexible biomass-fired steam generator and a micro steam turbine.
Possible applications: Decentralized heating networks • •
Existing heating plants and energy suppliers to cover the base load coverage during summer Municipalities
Decentralized heat consumers • • • •
Hotels and wellness facilities Multi-unit residential buildings in rural areas Small industrial plants Schools
Decentralized companies with their own fuel • •
Forestry and agricultural businesses Wood processing companies such as sawmills, carpentry shops, pellet and wood chip plants
Why invest in a CHP plant now? •
• • •
CO2 targets require immediate action: CHP plants using renewable fuels make a direct contribution to achieving the EU‘s climate targets (-55 % emissions by 2030, climate neutrality by 2050). Efficiency counts twice: By generating electricity and heat simultaneously, CHP systems meet the requirements for greater energy efficiency and reduce primary energy consumption. Decarbonization of heat and electricity is crucial: The heating sector is lagging behind – CHP with biomass enables fossil-free heat supply in municipalities and industry. Renewable and secure supply: Biomass CHP provides controllable, renewable energy – this secures supply while reducing fossil fuel dependencies.
Process describtion 1. Untreated, chipped fuel is conveyed onto the grate via a stoker screw 2. Drying, pyrolysis, and charcoal combustion take place on a multi-zone feed grate 3. Low emissions thanks to multiple air stages in the combustion chamber 4. Flue gas flow in countercurrent to the steam ensures efficient heat transfer 5. The superheated steam is converted into electricity via a highly efficient micro steam turbine generator unit 6. Residual heat is recovered to cover the heat demand via a condenser 7. A high-pressure pump raises the now cooled feed water back to boiler pressure, closing the water circuit
