GENERAL MANAGER MESSAGE Dear Members, We are having a marvelous summer so far this year. The pool is busy, kids camps are full and members are enjoying their boats! We have a new "No Wake" buoy and have been working on repairs to the boardwalk and gangways. We will also be getting new fuel pumps in the very near future. Our events have been filling up! It is good to see everyone having such a wonderful time at your Club. Just a reminder, all Club Events are by reservation only and our 48- hour cancellation is in place. In July, there are many events to enjoy! Our Crab and Clam Boil is a going to be a great one and we are excited to have live music for our members. The KRVE Band comes highly recommended! We also will be doing our first Yappy Hour for our fourlegged friends! So bring the whole family out for this one! We are thankful for the investment that Safe Harbor Marinas is putting into the SHPYC. • The new Ships Store floor is in and looks amazing. • The Kebony decking around the Club is looking great and the installers will be finishing up in July with the downstairs areas. • We are working with the designers on the new chairs for the dining room and bar. • The painting on the outside is nearly finished. • Did you happen to notice the lighthouse has been repainted and the trees cut around it for a nice visual? I am receiving many complaints regarding dogs not being on leashes. Just a gentle reminder that dogs need to be on a leash at all times even while on the docks. BOATING & MARINA NEWS PYC Watercraft
We are halfway through another fantastic and extremely active season and our watercraft are being used more than ever. To keep everyone safe and our watercraft in order we ask that you please follow these simple rules.
Watercraft Rules
1. You must be 16 years old to sign out watercraft. 2. 15 years and under must have a guardian with them at all times. 3. PFD’s must be worn at all times. 4. You must be seated or on your knees upon leaving the dock and returning to avoid falling into the dock. 5. Always be aware of boats coming in and out!! You may see them but they may not see you! 6. Upon signing watercraft out you assume all responsibility for any damage to watercraft and paddles! 7. Watercraft are only available during marina hours and must be checked back 1 hour before close.
PLEASE REMEMBER NO SWIMMING IN AND AROUND THE MARINA!

FLEET COMMITTEE NEWS We are off to an active boating season on our beautiful lake, with a full calendar of PYC powerboat events well underway. June included the Droppin’ A Hook dockside music and multiple safety seminars for our members, with July offering our second Raft-Up of the season. Outstanding member participation in these events is recognized by the Ed Sherrard Memorial Power Boater of the Year Award, which was established many years ago by the PYC. Ed was an active member of the club and enjoyed supporting his fellow boaters in maximizing their enjoyment of our beautiful lake. Congratulations to Mark Benno, our current points leader; with multiple power boat events planned for each month, there is plenty of time to take advantage of all that the club has to offer. Points are awarded for a wide range of the Peninsula Yacht Club activities and extend beyond powerboat events (Raft-Ups, Lakewide History Tours, Poker Run, and many others) to include credit for volunteer participation in key club efforts as well as completion of the educational and safety seminars that keep our members safe. Note that we also recognize all safety seminars – whether sponsored by our club or another organization – with an award of 5 points for each event attended to a maximum of 15 points.
