Blood Pressure Measurement Guide For Adults Aged ≥ 18 years

Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking the measurement

Avoid physical activity and caffeinated drinks for 30 minutes before your blood pressure check.

Record the exact reading displayed on the monitor.

ALIGN THE ARTERIAL INDEX MARKER ( ) WITH THE BRACHIAL ARTERY on the inner side of the upper arm Do not talk during or between measurements.

Ensure the cuff length is at least 80% of the patient’s arm circumference. Ensure the cuff width is at least 40% of the patient’s upper arm circumference. Place the cuff on a bare arm or over a thin layer of clothing. Avoid bunched clothing under the cuff. Ensure the cuff is fully deflated before taking the reading.
