Diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus or are pre-diabetic

Avoid

Added sugar, syrups ad sauces (e.g. caramel, fudge and sweet)

Canned fruits

Toppings/ dressings, salt and seasonings (e g seasoning powders)

Polished/ refined cereals and their products (e g white rice, pasta, bun, instant noodles)

Fat and oil especially saturated fats (e g butter, lard, ghee), trans fat (vegetable shortening) and full fat dairy products.

Processed meats (e.g. bacon, ham)

Unpolished/ unrefined cereals and their products (e.g. wholegrains, oat bran, barley)

Fibre-containing foods (nuts, seeds, beans, lentils, peas)
