A NOTE FROM DEB REINDL Being raised by Bonneie Bennett, knowing horses, especially foundation quarter horses, wasn’t something you just learned about, it was REQUIRED! Quarter horse names, such as Perty Buck, King P-234, Poco Bueno, Skipper W, Blondys Dude, and Blackburn were in just about every horse conversation heard at the Bennett Ranch. She spent her life following, adding and producing foundation offspring from these bloodlines centering on the disposition, confirmation, cow sense and looks passed down from these sires. In 1999, Bonnie blessed me with six of her foundation-bred mares and a two-year-old stallion, Okie Blackburn. Increasing my own herd, over the years, Reindl Quarter Horses is just carrying on the foundation legacy Bonnie started so many years ago.
A NOTE FROM ANNE & TRACY COMP Anne and Tracy Comp each developed a love of horses at a young age. Together, that passion has grown into Comp Quarter Horses.
As a young girl, Anne, a military brat, spent countless hours in the stables on base or at play days with her horses. Growing up near Presho, SD, Tracy was very familiar with ranch life. Tracy’s parents, Perry and Patty, raised Black Angus cattle, a small band of quality quarter horses and a small band of broodmares with a Jet Deck stallion. Continually striving to breed the perfect horse, built for speed and strength, Perry loved training and showing horses throughout his life. When Anne and Tracy moved back to south-central South Dakota, the passion to improve the quarter horse breed took over again. Comp Quarter Horses purchased a two-year-old stud, Tivios Crowned Reed. Tivios Crowned Reed is 98 percent foundation-bred, the perfect match for their band of broodmares. Each year, Anne and Tracy strive to learn, grow and improve their quarter horse program.
