Welcome to Bruner Angus Ranch and thank you for taking the time to evaluate our 24th Annual Production Sale offering, annually held the third Sunday in February. Note the NEW TIME this year of 1:00 PM. We appreciate your interest in our program and look forward to visiting with you about your herd goals. We want to personally thank all of you and we are privileged to have the opportunity to be your trusted seed stock supplier. Also, congratulations to all of you commercial cow/calf operations for being a part of a record market year! We want to commend your efforts and truly hope you are getting rewarded for everything you do.
This year’s offering consists of 79 yearling bulls, 38 2-year-old bulls, 45 registered bred heifers, and 20 registered bred cows. We have an outstanding set of 200+ consigned commercial open replacement and bred heifers this year as well! These heifers are from just a few of our most dedicated and loyal customers. They have been strictly managed, and are from some of the best cattlemen and women in our area, so buy with confidence. Please refer to the back few pages of the catalog for each group and their individual details. This will be the largest and most diversified offering to date with 400+ head that is sure to satisfy your needs!
All bulls, registered heifers, and registered cows have genomic enhanced EPD’s and are parent verified. This provides the most up-to-date EPD’s, $Values, and also a guaranteed pedigree. The EPD’s in the catalog are as of the 1/8/26 update to the AAA database. We will provide a supplement sheet sale day with scrotal measurements, ADG and ADJ Yearling Weights. The Angus Association started a new program this past year to recognize registered herds dedicated to complete data collection called AHIR Data Driven Herd. We received the Bronze Award as a Data Driven Herd this past year and were recognized in Kansas City, MO at the National Angus Convention this past November. We believe that actual weights and phenotypic data we provide from our herd is a vital part to making our herd and the entire breed better for everyone.
Again, this year, the sale will be broadcast live online through DVAuction. The individual videos of each lot will be available approximately 3 weeks before the sale. If your schedule does not allow you to be with us sale day, we hope that this option can help out. If you have any questions with this please let us know.
The cattle are available for viewing anytime, or join us at our Pre-Sale Open House at the ranch February 7th from noon to 5 pm and receive $100 sale day credit! If you have questions please do not hesitate to call. We look forward to seeing you at the sale!

If a problem occurs, we will provide a suitable replacement, or you will receive full credit, minus $2,000, towards a purchase in next year’s sale. The guarantee does not cover death as that is insurable. Injury or death prior to delivery of the bull is not the responsibility of Bruner Angus Ranch, also insurable. The bulls are fertile to the best of our knowledge and are guaranteed to pass a breeding soundness exam. We request that you notify us before you cull an infertile bull. We reserve the right to a second opinion by a veterinarian of our choice.

We are offering free delivery on the bulls. For bulls going outside of North Dakota, we will help coordinate delivery to get the bulls to you as economically as we can. For all Females, it is the buyer’s responsibility to transport them to their desired location. The sooner this can be accomplished the better as some of the bred heifers will not be too far away from calving.
Pre-Sale Open
House - Saturday, February 7th, 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Bruner Angus Ranch will be hosting an open house to cattle buyers interested in previewing our sale offering. Stop by and visit with us individually about how we can help you with your herd’s needs. Pre-registration will be available, to save you time on sale day. We are offering a $100 sale credit for sale day on one Bruner Angus lot, for each ranching family present at the open house.
Everyone - Welcome again to the Bruner Angus Ranch Annual Bull & Female Sale. The quality of the cattle, and the strength of the market are a couple of reasons we anticipate this great event. The Bruners are offering yearling bulls, two-year-old bulls, registered bred heifers, a featured donor cow, and for the first time, they are offering 20 registered cows. This year, there will be 200 top commercial bred heifers and open heifers from their customers’ programs that will enhance any herd. As you look through the catalog, you will find one of the largest offerings of Deep Creek Square Deal sons and daughters to be offered this sale season. Square Deal, a resident herd sire owned with Select Sires, is just starting to make his mark in the Angus Breed as an upcoming young sire. Another resident herd sire, Hoover Classic B26, has had an impact in this offering. Lots 1-3 will lead off this year’s sale. B26 is a maternal brother to the elite female known as T220.
The Bruner’s have an extensive AI program. This year’s battery is a “who’s who” in the Angus breed, featuring sons of Rise Above, Prosper, Bedrock, SAV Magnum, Boyd Bellringer 2010, Mohnen Bandit and more. Being partners in Dakota Angus LLC, the Bruners know full well what is needed to market beef. More than half of this year’s offering will be carrying the CAB stamp on their pedigree. These cattle will produce, perform, and work in all facets of the Beef Business.
This offering will be solid throughout. As always, it will be difficult to find another set of two-year-old bulls anywhere that compare, and the registered bred heifers will be as good of a set offered to date. The Donor cow, a Traction daughter known as 7075, will lead off the registered bred cows. Her offspring have been some of the top sellers in previous sales.
The Bruners are a family operation. They all have their individual strengths, and come together to do what is best for all. It’s a well oiled machine that is extremely proud of their Angus cattle. They are as honest and hard working of a family that you will find. You can trust them to stand behind their cattle. If you encounter a problem, call them and they wWill work with you to remedy the situation. Their hospitality is second to none.
If there is anything I can do to help you with your selections, please feel free to contact me at anytime 701-721-0344.
Sincerely, Vern Frey

Your guide to our genetics
All bulls have been Angus GS tested. These genomic-enhanced EPD results are listed with each lot number in the catalog. To assist in your selection, below is an explanation of each EPD that is listed with each bull.
American Angus Association® Selection Tools
Expected Progeny Difference (EPD), is the prediction of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals listed in the database. EPDs are expressed in units of measure for the trait, plus or minus.
GROWTH
Calving Ease Direct (CED), is expressed as a difference in percentage of unassisted births, with a higher value indicating greater calving ease in first calf heifers. It predicts the average difference in ease with which a sire’s calves will be born when he is bred to first-calf heifers.
Birth Weight EPD (BW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit birth weight to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Weaning Weight EPD (WW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit weaning growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Yearling Weight EPD (YW), expressed in pounds, is a predictor of a sire’s ability to transmit yearling growth to his progeny compared to that of other sires.
Scrotal Circumference EPD (SC), expressed in centimeters, is a predictor of the difference in transmitting ability for scrotal size compared to that of other sires.
Docility (DOC), is expressed as a difference in yearling cattle temperament, with a higher value indicating more favorable docility. It predicts the average difference of progeny from a sire in comparison with another sire’s calves.
CARCASS
The genetic evaluation produces a single set of EPDs for carcass weight, marbling score, Ribeye area and fat thickness. The units of measure are in carcass trait format and analyzed on an age-constant basis.
Marbling EPD (Marb), expressed as a fraction of the difference in USDA marbling score of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
Ribeye Area EPD (RE), expressed in square inches, is a predictor of the difference in ribeye area of a sire’s progeny compared to progeny of other sires.
MATERNAL
Maternal Milk EPD (Milk), is a predictor of a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mothering ability as expressed in his daughters compared to daughters of other sires. In other words, it is that part of a calf’s weaning weight attributed to milk and mothering ability.

$VALUE INDEXES
$Value indexes, are multi-trait selection indexes to assist beef producers by adding simplicity to genetic selection decisions. $Values are reported in dollars per head, where a higher value is more favorable. The $Value is an estimate of how future progeny of each sire are expected to perform, on average, compared to progeny of other sires in the database if the sires were randomly mated to cows and if calves were exposed to the same environment.
Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) , an index, expressed in dollars per head, predicts profitability differences from conception to weaning with the underlying breeding objective assuming that individuals retain their own replacement females within herd and sell the rest of the cull female and all male progeny as feeder calves. The model assumes commercial producers will replace 25% of their breeding females in the first generation and 20% of their breeding females in each subsequent generation. Traits included are as follows: calving ease direct, calving ease maternal, weaning weight, milk, heifer pregnancy, docility, mature cow weight, claw set and foot angle.
Weaned Calf Value ($W), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for preweaning merit. $W includes both revenue and cost adjustments associated with differences in birth weight, weaning direct growth, maternal milk, and mature cow size.
Beef Value ($B), an index value expressed in dollars per head, is the expected average difference in future progeny performance for postweaning and carcass value compared to progeny of other sires.
Combined Value ($C), an index, expressed in dollars per head, which includes all traits that make up both Maternal Weaned Calf Value ($M) and Beef Value ($B) with the objective that commercial producers will replace 20% of their breeding females per year with replacement heifers retained within their own herd. The remaining cull heifer and steer progeny are then assumed to be sent to the feedlot where the producers retain ownership of those cattle and sell them on a quality-based carcass merit grid. Expected progeny differences (EPDs) directly influencing a combined index: calving ease direct (CED) and maternal (CEM), weaning weight (WW), yearling weight (YW), maternal milk (Milk), heifer pregnancy (HP), docility (DOC), mature cow weight (MW), foot angle (Angle), claw set (Claw), dry matter intake (DMI), marbling (Marb), carcass weight (CW), ribeye area (RE) and fat thickness (Fat).

Yearling Bulls
BAR Classic 5152
Lot 1: BAR Classic 5152 was an obvious decision to lead-off our 2026 production sale. He is the first of our new and exciting resident herd sire Hoover Classic B26. We purchased Classic in February of 2024 from Hoover Angus where he was the high-selling bull for them that year. Classic is super stout, big hipped, and long with an easy-going disposition. His progeny have beautiful Angus heads, a clean front 1/3, a powerful hip, and expressive rib dimension. The foot and leg structure put Classic in a league of his own as you see his sons and daughters! His dam, Erica of Ellston R96, is in a league of her own and is a 3rd generation Pathfinder donor dam in a row at Hoover Angus. R96 is the dam of the most recognized cow to ever be bred at Hoover Angus – Erica of Ellston T220. T220 has already put 4 bulls in bull stud with BA7 Oaks Bold Ruler and 7 Oaks Influence to name a few. This history makes Classic a half-brother to T220 and a pedigree that has great earning potential! Classic will continue to see heavy use in our future breeding program. 5152 was the heaviest bull calf at weaning time out of all AI/ET calves and still holds the lead as the heaviest bull in the pen today! Not only is 5152 packed with individual performance, he is structurally outstanding, with an extreme amount of length. 5152’s young dam is a sharpfronted, hardworking daughter of Mohnen Raindance 1599. A herd sire that has consistently produced high performing daughters.

BAR Classic 5162
Lot 2: BAR Classic 5162 is a stout-made, halfbrother to lot 1, with an eye-catching profile. 5162 shows an extreme amount of rib shape and dimension, with a powerful stout hip. He is an ET son out of a 2nd generation donor for us at BAR. His dam, 3196 has settled AI her first 2 years in a row while we were able to grab a flush from her at the same time. Her natural calf is lot 10 in this sale and is one of the highlight sons of Square Deal in this sale! In addition to his stunning profile, 5162 has an attractive genomic profile with $M in the top 3% and $C in the top 5% of the breed! Don’t miss this exciting herd bull candidate on February 15th!
REG #: 21330157 Tag: 2089
Calved: 03/16/2025
Lot 3: BAR Classic 5174 is the powerhouse, Classic sired bull of the sale. He carries so much muscle mass and heavy bone structure all the way down to a big solid foot. 5174 is out of a big barreled Crawford Guarantee daughter that is ratioing 116 on her first two calves! When you study him on paper you will see he is equally impressive: Top 1% WW, YW, &
and
5174 has 15 traits in the top 25% of the breed. Pounds always pay and this Classic son will produce scale crushing steer calves and replacement females that are top end producers!
Yearling Bulls BAR
Lot 4: BAR Bandit 5021 has been a standout since he was a baby calf! Powerfully constructed from end to end, you will not find another bull in this sale with more width and dimension than this guy! 5021 has as perfect of an Angus head as you could make and travels with ease as he moves. 5021 is out of a tidy uddered Relentless daughter that struck a good one here on her first calf! The foot quality on 5021 is top notch and the great part is this also matches his EPD profile with claw and angle scores in the top 3% and 4% of the breed respectively. We purchased 5021’s sire, Mohnen Bandit 3202, in the spring of 2023. Bandit is a full brother to their high-selling bull Mohnen Bandolier who sold to Grimmius Cattle Co. in 2021 for $70,000. We are very proud of the herd bulls we have acquired and their ability to produce offspring like Lot 4!
The Targeting the Brand™ logo highlights registered Angus bulls with greater genetic potential to produce calves that meet the most challenging specifications of the Certified Angus Beef ® brand.
Lots 5 & 6 are potential sale toppers! They are ¾ brothers, both sired by Ellingson Prosper out of cows sired by S Cornerstone 607. Prosper is arguably the most popular young sire in the Angus breed today! When you study these two bulls on the hoof you will find they are both heavy muscled, bold-rib shaped, and have great feet. Here is your early chance to get in on a sire you will be hearing a lot more about over the next few years. We go back and forth from day to day which is the better bull here. You be the judge!
5064
Lot 6 not only has a gravitating physical presence, but also hit it out of the park on his EPD profile. He has 18 EPD’s in the top 25% of the breed, a +113
+183 YW, a +1.59
and is the highest $C bull in the sale at +370! Lot 7: BAR Bedrock 5066 is the only Boyd Bedrock son in the sale and is a product of some embryos we purchased from the Vermilion Ranch in Billings, Montana. 5066 is a potential calving ease bull and will be a favorite sale day by all because of his eye-catching
ence, above average frame and length, and a breed leading EPD profile with
Yearling Bulls
Lots 8 & 9 are full brothers by Deep Creek Square Deal, a bull we are so proud to have had walking our breeding pastures over the last 3 years. Square Deal continues to do an excellent job for us. There are 22 Square Deal sired sons and daughters in this offering and will be the largest offering of one sire in this sale! These two bulls are full brothers to our lots 1 & 2 bulls last year that were the 2nd and 3rd high selling bulls respectively. These two bulls are every bit as good as last years flush mates and offer a moderate birth, balanced trait package all the way around. If you are in the business of creating cattle that perform in all areas of the beef business and want daughters that will pay the bills the Square Deal bulls are for you! These two bull’s donor dam BAR Miss Success 9094 is the most powerfully constructed female on the ranch. She is deep bodied, massive hipped, and has picture perfect udder quality. She is a pathfinder and a 2nd generation donor that has a weaning ratio of 109 on 5 calves! We are confident in these two great herd sires, and are excited for what they can do for you.

Yearling Bulls
Lots 24, 25, 26, & 27 are out of SAV Magnum 1335, and are ¾ brothers, all four out of Scale House first calf heifers. Magnum sired our high-selling bull last year in February for us, and produced another great set of sons this year. The Magnum bulls are deep, soggy, and stout made bulls with breed leading WW and YW EPD’s that the ranchers will find sale day!

Lots 30 & 31 are ET full brothers by Boyd Bellringer 2010. We were able to see Bellringer at World West Sires in Billings, MT and knew doing

She has had numerous sale topping progeny since her first natural calf in 2021. She has a weaning ratio of 122 on 4 calves and is an excellent embryo producer! The full sisters to these bulls in our replacement pen are extremely good and rank at the very top of their class!

Lots 35 & 36 is another set of full brothers out of BAR Miss Acclaim 9118, this time out of Deep Creek Square Deal. You can see that this cow has the ability to produce standout progeny no matter what sire she is mated with. These two bulls are larger framed, clean made, and packed with performance! Expect scale crushing steers, and replacement heifers that you will want to keep here.
Lot 37: BAR Classic 5182 will be the lead off bull on our 2nd flight of yearling bulls after the 2-year-olds sell. He is also heading off the 2nd pen of Hoover Classic sired bulls. The consistency in the Classic’s is something you rarely find in any AI sire or herd bull and Classic is something special because of it! We always save one of the best for this spot and boy is he a standout! 5182 is one of the youngest bulls in the yearling group. He is a standout heifer bull with a small head, smooth shoulder, and a muscle-packed rear quarter. He started out at a modest 78 lbs. at birth and performed well to weaning with an 815 lb. adjusted 205-day weight to ratio 111 out of 184 head in his contemporary group. He has 15 EPD’s in the top 25% of the breed, has a +1.23 Marbling, has the highest $M in the sale at +117, and an impressive $C of +354. There are not many times you come across a bull with this much phenotype, calving ease, and numbers all in one package. His dam is a product of our embryo program and is doing a great job with a weaning ratio of 109 on her first 2 calves!

Yearling Bull Offering
The yearling bulls were weaned September 16th and have been developed on a ration of barley hay, alfalfa hay, triticale hay, corn silage, rolled corn, and a protein/ mineral pellet specifically designed for bull development. This group of yearling bulls are all born in a 3-week period. This tight age group allows for an easy evaluation for you, the buyer. As seed stock or commercial seller, the goal is always to produce the most even/consistent set of animals in the highest volume possible. We have certainly accomplished that in this sale. We are very proud of this set of bulls and we hope you feel the same.

Two-Year-Old Bulls
Lot 80 is an exciting ET son by Connealy Craftsman and will lead off our 2-year-old division. He is impressive on the hoof with a wide chest, thick top, and is an excellent footed bull. When you study him on paper you will also like what you see. He ranks in the top 15% of the breed for Marbling at +1.22, top 10% for $M at +92, and top 15% for $C at +323. His donor dam, 9118, is the highest-ratioing cow in our herd, weaning 4 calves at 122 average weaning ratio. 9118 will inject performance into any sire she is mated with and you can certainly see that in this great 2-year-old bull.

BAR Square Deal 4124
4344 Lot 90: BAR Square Deal 4124 is an outstanding ET bull and a full brother to lot 63 yearling bull. The donor dam 0126 was Rayna’s show heifer in the summer of 2021 where she did a great job and placed in multiple classes she was shown in. As a cow in production, 0126 is tidy uddered, good footed, and a great mother. This aged bull and his full brother, lot 63, should be on everyone’s radar for their added fleshing ability, excellent structure, calving ease predictions, and proven pedigree!
BAR Square Deal
Lot 91: BAR Square Deal 4344, another Square Deal aged bull that is a product of our embryo transplant program. Out of the highest weaning ratio cow on the ranch, 9118. This is a full brother to lots 35 & 36 in the yearling division. You have the ability to put together a great string of these full brothers to create uniformity and consistency.
Two-Year-Old Bulls
Lot 92: BAR Fair-N-Square 4292 is also a product of our extensive ET work and a bull we used on a small group of first calf heifers in the breeding pasture last summer. We love the predictability of this mating and are confident the offspring will be profit driven on both sides! This bull travels extremely well, covering his every track, all while being thick topped and soft middled.

Two-Year-Old Bull Offering
The 2-year-old bulls this year are big, stout, mature bulls ready to work. Raising 2-yearold bulls is a great test to see how our breeding decisions are benefiting one step further. The power, performance, look, and genetic potential they have exhibited to this point is showing the true benefits of the critical pressure in selection we continue to put on our cowherd. These age-advantage bulls have never been offered for sale - are bred, born, and developed specifically for this sale. They will give you extra reliability and increased cow coverage.
The registered bred heifers and registered cows have been ultrasounded and sexed with complete calving information in the catalog. These females were out on corn stalks and treated just as the ones we plan to calve out, until December 15th when they were sorted off for clipping. Like the 2-year-old bulls, this is another phase where we can see the benefits of our breeding decisions. These females will have been poured with Clean-Up II and be upto-date on their pre-calving Scour Boss and breeding vaccinations before the sale.
heart of our replacement pen. We have based the catalog order primarily off their calving due dates. Both are Trust Fund daughters, and equally hard to part with! You will appreciate the depth of body, fleshing ability, and feminine look these half-sisters have. After calving a couple sets of these Trust Fund daughters, we are confident these heifers will go out and work anywhere. Great mothering ability and excellent udder quality are just a couple of the necessary traits these two great females will excel in.

Lot 163: BAR Miss Traction 7075 is a feature cow that has been a donor for us over the last 4 years. She has had 5 natural calves with an average birth ratio of 96, and a weaning ratio of 112 - we also left her open 2 years for conventional flushing purposes. She has been a solid embryo producer and proven to be a valuable asset. In our 2024 sale she had the 4th high-selling bull at $15,000, and in our 2025 sale we sold 4 bulls out of her that averaged $11,125/bull, and a $4,800 bred heifer. We have 5 daughters working in our herd that are doing an outstanding job! 7075 excels in production traits like fleshing ability, great mothering ability, and milk production. The greatest part of 7075 is her easy-going attitude! We are excited to see what this cow can do for her new owners!

37 Black Angus Commercial Replacement Heifers
The Dockter-Jensen Ranch is providing a great set of commercial open Angus replacement heifers again this year. There will be 37 heifers in this group that are end of March and April born calves. They have gone the extra mile this year to prove the genetic merit of their offering by doing the 17 trait DNA evaluation of Igenity Beef from Neogen. As a group, these heifers rank in the top 35% for the Maternal index, top 15% for the Production index, top 4% for weaning weight, and top 3% for yearling weight. Kerry and Kyle have always put extra culling pressure on performance and docility in their cow herd. Through years of excellent record keeping and measuring real life profitable traits, this group of heifers on October 15th had an average weight of 588 lbs. and an average weaning ratio of 103 against their entire herd! The steer mates to these heifers last year were finished at a feedlot in Iowa, that has purchased these calves for a number of years in a row, with excellent results. They converted 6.25 pounds of feed/pound of gain with an ADG of 3.6 lbs. through the entire feeding period. That group of steers not only were feed efficient, they also graded 85% CAB and Prime on the quality grade. This proves the carcass quality and performance in this great herd! Kerry and Kyle have always bought bulls off the very top of our sales. A couple of the sires of these heifers are: BAR Big Money 1252 - $8,500, BAR Supercharger 0045 - $8,000, and BAR Bomber 9154- $9,000 (a full brother to BAR B-52). These heifers have had 4 rounds of shots: birth, branding, preconditioning (October), and the end of November. They have been bangs vaccinated, poured with Clean-up, dewormed with Synanthic, had their pre-breeding shot, and been checked open and breedable. These heifers have a reputation of becoming excellent cows!
