Sale Location: Booth’s Cherry Creek Ranch, Inc., 17 miles SW of Torrington, Hwy 154 or 1 1/2 miles N and 3 W of Veteran, Wyo. Phone: 307-534-5865. Transportation: Scottsbluff Airport accommodates commuter planes from Denver International Airport. Private planes may land at the Torrington Airport. Inspection of Cattle: Cattle may be inspected prior to sale day at the Cherry Creek Ranch. Insurance: Terms and conditions on the back cover of this catalog. Will be available through Harding & Harding. Jiim Geis is their representative. Terms: Cash - please settle for cattle promptly. Retaining 1/3 breeding interest on all bulls in the sale. Health: Interstate health papers will be provided on all cattle selling. Brand Inspection: Bulls brand inspection will be provided on cattle selling Trucking & Delivery: We will feed and deliver the bulls until March 20, 2021 free of charge. Most likely, the bulls will be delivered the last week of March, however we cannot guarantee day of delivery. Bulls are delivered at the buyer’s risk, in case of death or injury. For buyers who need to leave their bulls a little later, feed will be at cost and we ask that you make arrangements for delivery or pick them up. Bulls will be delivered free of charge up to 250 miles (up to 500 if purchase is six bulls or more) after that, we will charge at cost. There will be a $200 discount per bull if taken sale day, or a $100 refund if buyer picks up bull by April 1, 2021. Liability: All persons attending this sale do so at their own risk, legal or otherwise, for their safety or the behavior of the animals. BULL SALE Welcome to our 48th Annual “Progress thru Performance” Bull Sale Our family would like to welcome you to our 48th Annual Bull Sale. The biggest change for us this year was Dad’s passing several weeks after last year’s sale. His passion for superior Angus cattle is forever engrained in this family. He has a lot to do with our strong support by so many, for our seedstock. This year our offering is highlighted by PAP tested 2-year-olds. There are not many, but they are quite impressive. We are also offering a dozen of our top yearlings in the sale, with the rest to be PAP tested this summer. The lead off fall bulls are as high-quality as any we have ever offered. As you read in the footnotes many are at the top of the breed for all combinations of genetic traits and it runs deep throughout the sale. As one of the longest standing production sales in Wyoming, it’s our commercial cattleman’s desire of complete sound performance and our family standing behind them that creates top of the market demand for our customers feeders and females. Not every bull born on this ranch is worthy of being in this sale, because of the high standards set by you. There are several new EPD’s in the catalog that I urge you to brush up on by going to angus.org. They refer to foot structure, maternal, and complete genetic impacts reflected in $ values. When selecting an animal based on a PAP measurement other factors besides those listed above should be considered such as genetics or pedigree, PAP EPD’s , Systolic/Diastolic pressures, breed and previous illness.
•
Special consideration should be given to the amount of time the animal was exposed to elevation (>5500 ft) prior to testing. The predictability and repeatability of the PAP measurement improves with longer the exposure to higher elevation (minimum of 3 weeks is required).
•
This chart is based on animals greater than 10 months of age. Testing older animals (>12 months) results in a higher predictive and repeatability measurement.
•
Testing of younger animals (<10months) may result in a greater variability to the predictive and repeatability measurement.
DEFINITIONS: • Repeatable or Repeatability Percent: This is a term used to give strength to a given PAP score predicting that If a retest PAP was carried out later in life then the score would be close to or within the same category as the original measurement. For example; a PAP measurement taken below 4000 feet only has a 40% repeatable percent meaning that a repeat test only has a 40% chance of staying within the same risk category as the original test. •
Predictive Value: This term is closely related to repeatability percent but specifically says that the original score can accurately predict what that animal will retest in a higher elevation.
•
Risk: Defined as the likelihood of an animal developing pulmonary hypertension themselves or being at risk for having a genetic predisposition for the disease 58

With the reality that sometimes young bulls become injured during their first breeding season, we have worked to come up with a fair and reasonable way to share this risk with our bull customers.
GUARANTEE
All bulls selling for $2,500 or more will be covered 50% by Cherry Creek Ranch if they are injured during their first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90-day period following the first turn out of the bull. 50% of the value of the injured bull, minus FULL salvage value will be given as a credit. If a replacement bull is available of equal or higher quality the bull will be replaced, otherwise the credit can only be applied to the next year’s bull sale. All injured bulls must be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Please notify us as soon as possible if an injury occurs, and prior to the injured bull being sold for salvage. All claims bust be made by Sept. 1, 2021. Example 1: A $5,000 bull is injured and will not heal. A credit of $2,500 minus one-half any salvage value will be given to the buyer. Example 2: A $2,500 bull is injured and will not heal. A credit of $1,250 minus one-half of any salvage value will be given to the buyer. Example 3: A $2,400 bull is injured and will not heal. No credit is given. Buyer retains all salvage value. Should you desire to add coverage to the guarantee by Cherry Creek Ranch, Jim Geis with American Livestock Insurance will be at the sale, please visit with him following the sale to make insurance arrangements. They offer full mortality coverage should you desire to purchase it.
