The Power of the PAC Moms

For many moms, prioritizing fitness can feel like a luxury. Between school drop-offs, packed schedules, and endless responsibilities, finding time for yourself often falls to the bottom of the list. But for Genesis-PAC members Casey Jo Deis and Gabby Duhe, that mindset shifted when they realized that taking care of themselves was the best way to take care of their families.
Finding a Community
Both women found their way to the club through the power of local connection. For Casey, it started with a neighbor who couldn’t stop talking about the energy at the club. Curious, Casey stepped into a Body Pump class, and what started as a single workout quickly turned into a lifestyle. It wasn’t just the variety of classes that kept her coming back—it was the community of like-minded people all working toward becoming better versions of themselves.
Gabby felt that same immediate connection. “THE TRAINERS, THE ENVIRONMENT, AND THE PROGRAMMING MADE THIS CLUB FEEL DIFFERENT,” SHE SAID. “IT WAS ONE OF THOSE PLACES WHERE YOU COULD TELL EVERYONE GENUINELY CARED ABOUT HELPING YOU SUCCEED AND FEEL SUPPORTED.”
Mot ivated Motherhoodby
For both Casey and Gabby, their children are at the center of their fitness journeys.
“I WANT TO BE ACTIVE WITH THEM, KEEP UP WITH THEM, AND SET AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF LOOKS LIKE,” GABBY SHARED
L/R: GABBY & CASEY
She views fitness as a tool for longevity and mental clarity, noting that she is a better mom and wife because of the time she spends at the club.
Casey echoed that sentiment, noting that entering her 40’s brought a powerful realization—she wants to be strong for her kids not just now, but for years to come. Whether it’s leading by example or staying active together on long hikes, she is showing her children that how your body feels is within your control.
Finding Balance in the Chaos
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without challenges. Gabby is the first to admit her days are typically full, starting with school drop-offs and moving quickly to errands, sports, and laundry.
Casey also struggled with the idea of taking time for herself without taking away from her children.
That balance became possible thanks to the support of the Playland and YAC teams at Genesis-PAC. For Casey and Gabby, having a safe, engaging place for their kids to play and get active gives them the peace of mind to focus on their health.
Casey has built her routine with intention, dedicating time to herself first after school drop-offs. By tackling
the “hard part” early, she creates a sense of accomplishment that carries her through the day. On days when motivation is low, she leans on discipline.

“DISCIPLINE EATS MOTIVATION FOR BREAKFAST,” SHE SAID
Just Start
For other moms who feel they don’t have the time, Gabby and Casey offer the same honest advice—just start. Whether you find a friend to join you or take that first step alone, the benefits of regular exercise quickly become undeniable.
When you feel better, everything else in life becomes easier. Taking time for yourself isn’t taking away from your family—it’s giving them the very best version of you.

THE KEY TO STAYING INDEPENDENT LONGER
Move Well & Live Well Move Well & Live Well
Independence is one of the most valuable things IN LIFE. The ability to move freely, take care of yourself, and live life on your own terms is something many people do not think about until it starts to slip away. The truth is, staying independent as we age is not about luck. It is about how well we move and how consistently we take care of our bodies today.
Movement is the foundation of independence. Simple daily actions like getting out of a chair, walking up
stairs, carrying groceries, or reaching overhead all rely on strength, balance, and mobility. When these begin to decline, everyday tasks become more difficult. The good news is that this decline can be slowed and even reversed with the right support.
STRENGTH TRAINING FOR LONGEVITY
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass, which can lead to feeling less stable. At Genesis-PAC, we make strength training accessible and approachable. Incorporating light resistance—whether it’s using our state-of-the-art selectorized machines, resistance bands, or light weights— helps maintain muscle and supports joint health. Our personal trainers specialize in creating "move well" plans that build the confidence you need to stay active outside the club.
BALANCE AND STABILITY
Falls are a leading cause of injury as we get older, but improving your balance can significantly reduce that risk. We offer guided classes and dedicated spaces where you can practice stability in a safe environment. From low-impact group fitness to specific
balance exercises, working on your coordination helps you move through your day with much more ease and confidence.
FLEXIBILITY AND MOBILITY
Tight muscles and stiff joints can limit your freedom. Gentle stretching and mobility work are essential to maintaining your range of motion. Whether you’re utilizing our stretching areas or joining a recovery-focused session, these habits help reduce the aches and pains that might otherwise discourage you from staying active.
CONSISTENCY OVER INTENSITY
At our diamond-level facility, we focus on the long game. You don't need to push your limits every single day to see results. What matters most is showing up regularly. A short walk on the treadmill, a light strength session, or a guided class a few times a week will create a lasting impact.
Small efforts, done consistently within our supportive PAC community, ensure you can keep living life on your own terms for years to come.

Why a Full Parking Lot at Genesis-PAC Means More Space for You
You pull into the Genesis-PAC parking lot and every spot is taken. From the outside, it looks like we are completely packed. But then you walk through our doors, and it feels completely different.
There is no waiting for equipment and no fighting for elbow room. You find the space to move, breathe, and focus on your workout.
What makes Genesis-PAC so different is how our campus is designed.
In a typical gym, everything is crammed into one giant room. Cardio, free weights, and machines all fight for the same square footage. When rush hour hits, it feels claustrophobic fast.
But because our facility is so spread out, the whole vibe changes.
Our members are doing a little bit of everything all over the property. Some are hitting the weights or jumping into a group fitness class. Others are out on

the courts playing tennis and pickleball, swimming laps in the pool, or just stretching out.
Activity happens everywhere, not just on one crowded gym floor.
So even when our parking lot is totally full, your workout experience stays calm, comfortable, and manageable.
We hear it all the time from members who try other gyms and come right back. They tell us the other spaces felt tight, their workouts felt rushed, and the environment was just overwhelming. They missed the feeling of having room to breathe.
Space really does matter. Having room to move lowers your stress, improves your workout, and makes it so much easier to show up.
A full parking lot here never means chaos. It just means our thriving community is enjoying all the different spaces we have to offer.
That is the real Genesis-PAC advantage. The best club is not the one that feels the busiest, it is the one that never feels crowded.

SUMMER FAMILY FUN ON THE PICKLEBALL COURTS

Pickleball is undeniably the buzz right now, but for families looking for a unique summer activity on the Northshore, we have an approach that goes beyond the basic strategy or rules of the game. This summer at Genesis - PAC, we are focusing on turning our courts into a playground for fun, connection, and making unforgettable memories with your kids.
Forget about intense competition and complex scoring. Sometimes the most interesting way to play is just to focus on the joy of movement and shared laughter. We encourage simplified scoring, flexible rules, and prioritizing participation for everyone, whether they are five or eighty-five. Our supportive Genesis - PAC community makes this easy, with plenty of encouraging faces around.
We’re not just talking about traditional play. We can help you devise inventive ways to get the whole crew engaged. Imagine paddle-balancing races with the balls, simplified target games, cooperative multi-person rallies, or even a modified obstacle course incorporating paddles and balls. These twists transform a familiar sport into a lively family adventure and can easily be adapted for different ages.
What’s truly interesting about this approach is how inclusive it can be. We often see grandparents, parents, and grandchildren all playing together on the court, bridging the age gaps with light-hearted games. It’s not just physical fitness - it’s a social and emotional connection for every generation. The PAC’s multigenerational environment is the perfect
backdrop for this, setting a healthy, active example that kids absorb naturally.
This summer, step away from the predictable and embrace the playful. Join us on the pickleball courts for laughter, connection, and memories that will stick around long after the season ends. Build stronger families, set active examples, and have a genuinely interesting, fun summer experience together at the club.
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to feel comfortable, confident, and right at home on our courts. If you ever have a question about a program, need help finding a match, or just want to know how to
get started, we are here for you.

FINDING STRENGTH, CONNECTION, AND COMMUNITY at Genesis PAC

When I arrived in Louisiana in 2024, I didn’t know a single person. I nervously made my way to the Genesis-PAC pool for an aqua class, feeling uncertain and shy.
Then someone called out, “Hey, are you new here? I’m Karen. Come on over!” She welcomed me and invited me to stay afterward for shared snacks. Karen became my first friend here, and to this day, that same group still gathers after class.
What started as curiosity quickly turned into consistency. I finally found a sustainable fitness routine through the YES program and the year-round heated pool. The knowledgeable instructors helped me feel safe and supported. Today, I feel stronger, more flexible, and I am sleeping better.
But what has impacted me most goes far beyond physical fitness.
As I navigate retirement, many of myclosest friendships have come from Genesis-PAC. It is more than a gym. It is a place where I feel known, welcomed, and part of a true community. I find myself arriving early to classes just to spend a few extra minutes talking before we begin.
For anyone new who might feel overwhelmed, my advice is simple. Start small. Pick one class, arrive early, and introduce yourself. Do not hesitate to say hello—you might just build friendships that make all the difference.
GENESIS-PAC HAS BECOME SO MUCH MORE THAN A PLACE FOR ME TO WORK OUT. IT IS A PLACE THAT SUPPORTS MY HEALTH, MY HAPPINESS, AND MY SENSE OF BELONGING.
Max Your Summer
Efficiency & Connection at Genesis-PAC
Summer is here, and while routines shift, calendars can fill up quickly. Don’t let the busy season pull you away from your goals. Use GenesisPAC as your complete family summer headquarters. We have created an environment where every single member of your family can find exactly what they need, right here.
Our club is designed for maximum efficiency. Drop your kids in our Playland or YAC for social, supervised fun with extended summer hours. This gives you uninterrupted time for focused 30-to-45-minute workouts on the turf, in a quick group fitness class, or with our elite trainers emphasizing smart, sustainable training. Our multigenerational environment means you and your children are supported.
The courts and pools are buzzing with active community connection. Join the excitement of pickleball with casual play, clinics, and mixers. Play a set of tennis, and then, as so many members love to do, simply grab a towel and head to our outdoor pool to cool off and connect with friends. Our unique supportive, atmosphere is where you are known and welcomed.
We have packed the summer schedule to keep kids of all ages active and

engaged. Build skills in Tri-Kids, Summer Swim Team, and Junior Tennis. Enjoy memorable family events like Dive-In Movies and our Popsicle Party. Plus, our Kids Date Nights offer a supervised, fun evening for them, allowing parents well-deserved time on their own.
Taking time for yourself is not selfish. Prioritize your own health to stay consistent and recharge. When your kids see you active and enjoying the club community, they learn that health and happiness go hand in hand. Let Genesis-PAC be the foundation of your strongest, happiest, and most connected summer yet.
Making Waves
In Louisiana, water is part of our way of life, from pool days to lake weekends. That is why swim lessons at Genesis-PAC are about building confidence, safety, and comfort.
Our instructors are the heart of our program—part coach, part cheerleader, and part steady guide. They create a welcoming environment where swimmers feel supported, encouraged, and brave enough to try again. Meeting swimmers where they are, our instructors help turn fear into progress through patience and warmth.
Water confidence is a life skill. We believe that gradual exposure, playful drills, and a focus on safety help swimmers build trust in themselves far beyond the pool deck. Our swim instructors teach courage, resilience, and bravery, making every lesson worth celebrating.

YOU CAN’T POUR FROM AN EMPTY CUP
You give your time . You give your energy . You give your attention to your kids, your work, your responsibilities , and everyone who depends on you.
But what happens when there is nothing left to give?
Too often, taking care of yourself feels like a luxury. Something you will get to later.
After the schedule slows down. After the kids are settled. After work gets easier. The problem is, that moment rarely comes. Life does not pause. It keeps asking for more.
And if you keep pouring without refilling, eventually you run dry.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It is necessary.
When you prioritize your health, your energy, and your mindset, everything else in your life improves. You show up better. You think clearer. You have more patience. You handle stress with more control. You become the version of yourself that your family and your responsibilities actually need.
Fitness
is one of the most powerful ways to refill your cup.
It gives you time that is yours. It resets your mind. It releases stress. It builds strength not just physically, but mentally. Even a short workout can shift your entire day. It is not about perfection or long sessions. It is about consistency and intention.
You do not need hours. You need commitment.
Thirty minutes. A walk. A quick lift. A class. Something that allows you to step away and invest back into yourself. That small investment pays off in every area of your life.
There
is also something bigger happening.
When you take care of yourself, you set the tone for the people around you. You show your kids what it looks like to value health. You show your coworkers what discipline looks like. You create a standard without saying a word.
You
lead by example.
Burnout does not happen overnight. It builds slowly when you constantly give without restoring. The best way to avoid it is not to wait until you are exhausted—it is to make self-care part of your routine now.
• NOT LATER. NOT WHEN THINGS CALM DOWN. NOW.
• BECAUSE THE TRUTH IS SIMPLE.
• YOU CANNOT GIVE YOUR BEST IF YOU ARE RUNNING ON EMPTY.
• YOU CANNOT SUPPORT OTHERS IF YOU ARE WORN DOWN.
• FILL YOURS FIRST.
FROM LAFAYETTE TO THE IFBB PRO LEAGUE, NOW LEADING GENESIS HEALTH CLUBS - BATON ROUGE.
In the world of fitness, there are athletes, and then there are leaders who elevate everyone around them. Caleb Blanchard is firmly the latter.
Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Caleb’s journey into the upper ranks of bodybuilding has been defined by discipline, consistency, and an unwavering commitment to growth. His rise through the NPC ranks quickly established him as a serious competitor, but it was his transition into the IFBB Pro League that solidified his place among the elite. Competing in the men’s 212 division, Caleb earned an impressive second-place finish at the Chicago Pro — a testament to both his work ethic and his deep understanding of the sport.

But what makes Caleb stand out isn’t just his competitive success. It’s what he does with that experience.
Today, Caleb brings that same elite-level
At the core of his coaching is a philosophy that cuts through the noise of modern fitness trends:
Discipline. Smart training. Sustainable results.

It’s a straightforward approach, but one that delivers. Caleb emphasizes building habits that last, training with purpose, and creating results that don’t just look good for a moment, but hold up for a lifetime. Whether he’s working with someone stepping into the gym for the first time or preparing an athlete for competition, his focus remains the same — progress rooted in consistency and intention.
At Genesis - Baton Rouge, Caleb is helping set a new standard for what it means to train with purpose. His presence represents more than just high-level coaching — it’s a commitment to raising the bar for the entire community.

The Love of the Game at Genesis-PAC
There is just something about tennis. It is a sport with a long history and a feeling that is completely all its own. From the satisfying thwack of the ball meeting the strings to the intense focus of a long rally, tennis has a way of hooking you. Here at Genesis-PAC, we see that passion on the courts every single day.
Whether you are stepping out for a serious singles match or a lighthearted doubles game with friends, the courts at GenesisPAC are your place to play. We have such an incredible community of players here on the Northshore who share a true appreciation for the game. It is more than just getting in a great workout; it is the feeling of improvement, the strategy of the next point, and the joy of seeing familiar faces across the net.
We love that our courts are always busy with members who have been playing for decades, as well as new players discovering the game for the first time. The camaraderie is real, and the competitive-but-friendly spirit is what makes playing here so enjoyable.
Plus, remember the best part of playing at your home club. After your match, you do not have to just pack up and head home. Grab your towel and head over to the outdoor pool for a refreshing cooldown. It
is the perfect way to reset after an intense set and connect with other members. Or, meet up with your playing partner at the cafe to recap the game over a drink or a bite to eat. These are the perks you only get here.
We are so glad to see you making the most of the facilities and bringing such great energy to the courts. If you have not played in a while, or are looking for a game, grab your racquet and come on down. We will see you on the court!
Ready to help you get into the swing

Strong & NOT Stressed
REALISTIC FITNESS FOR NORTHSHORE MOMS
Between school drop-offs, work schedules, and everything in between, moms across the Northshore are constantly on the go. Finding time for fitness can feel impossible—but at Genesis-PAC, we believe staying strong shouldn’t add more stress to your day.
The truth is, you don’t need hours in the gym to see results. You just need the right approach and a supportive environment.
FITNESS THAT FITS YOUR LIFE
For busy moms, fitness should be efficient, flexible, and realistic. At our diamond-level facility, that might look like a quick strength workout while your kids are having a blast in Playland, a fastpaced group class that gets your heart rate up, or even a short session focused on movement and recovery. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s consistency.
Strength training is especially important. It helps boost energy, improve metabolism, and build the kind of

functional strength that carries over into everyday life—whether that’s carrying groceries, chasing kids around the yard, or keeping up with a packed Northshore schedule.
SUPPORT FOR THE LOUISIANA FAMILY
At GenesisPAC, we understand the unique demands of Louisiana family life. That’s why we offer options designed to make fitness easier, not harder. With on-site childcare, a wide variety of classes, and supportive trainers, moms can walk in, get a great workout, and get back to their day without the added stress.
But fitness isn’t just physical—it’s mental. Taking even 30 minutes for yourself at the club can reset your mindset, reduce stress, and help you show up as your best self for your family.
You don’t need more time—you just need a plan that works for your life. Because being strong isn’t about doing everything; it’s about doing what matters and feeling your best while you do it.
Summer Reset
Summer changes everything. Schedules loosen, vacations pop up, and the kids are home. What once felt structured can quickly become unpredictable, and that is often when our fitness consistency starts to slip. At Genesis-PAC, we believe this is where a “reset” matters most. It’s not about a complete overhaul or an all-or-nothing mindset. It’s just a simple, intentional return to what works for you.
FLEXIBILITY IS YOUR SECRET WEAPON
Consistency in the summer looks different than it does in January. It’s not about perfect hour-long routines; it’s about flexibility. Some days might mean a full session on the turf, while others might just be a quick 20-minute swim or a walk to clear your head.

minutes. If that feels like too much, aim for 20. Removing the time pressure makes it easier to show up. Remember: Something is always better than nothing.
PLAN FOR THE FUN
At our diamond-level facility, we give you the variety to make that happen. If you can’t make your usual long lifting session, jump into a quick group class or hit the cardio floor for a “maintenance” burn. Every minute counts toward staying connected to your habits.
LOWER THE BARRIER
The best way to beat the “busy” excuse is to lower the barrier. Instead of needing a full hour, commit to 30
Summer often means more social events and less structure, but your nutrition can follow the same “reset” logic. Focus on better choices more often. Prioritize your protein, stay hydrated (especially in this Louisiana heat!), and be mindful of portions. One celebratory summer meal won’t set you back, but consistent daily habits will keep you moving forward.
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO ADJUST
Not every day will go as planned. What matters is how quickly you reset. Don’t wait for next week or even tomorrow—focus on the next decision.
The summer reset is simple. Stay active. Stay intentional. Stay consistent. We’ll see you at the club!
MOVE BETTER, LIVE STRONGER
Why Mobility Training at Genesis-PAC Matters
In a gym environment often focused on strength and peak performance, one of the most overlooked yet essential elements of fitness is mobility. It is the crucial difference between merely moving and moving with ease, confidence, and longevity.
That’s why we introduced our Stretch and Mobility class at Genesis-PAC. It isn’t just a simple cool-down; it is a 30-minute restorative session strategically designed to help our members move better, feel better, and ultimately perform at a higher level in and out of the club.
UNLOCKING YOUR BEST SELF
The common mindset is that fitness requires constant intensity. But, sometimes, strength is found in restoration. Many parents, professionals, and weekend warriors don't reach their full-power strength because of tight hips, restricted shoulders, and poor movement patterns.

These aren't just limitations for "lifters" trying to increase squat depth; they are limitations for living. They can limit movement for everyone from parents chasing kids on the Northshore to workers sitting at a desk all day. This class unlocks those limitations so you can train—and live—more effectively.
THE SCIENCE OF "ME-TIME"
The core of this class works through myofascial release, a fascinating technique that targets the fascia—the powerful connective tissue surrounding your muscles. When this tissue becomes tight, it restricts movement and creates discomfort. Through expert-

guided stretching and focused release techniques, this session helps reduce that deep tension, improve circulation, and restore your body’s natural range of motion.
FAST, EFFECTIVE, ESSENTIAL
We understand the unique demands of Louisiana family life. Between school drop-offs, sports, and everything in between, time is your most valuable commodity. That is what makes this class so essential. In just 30 minutes, you can give your body the strategic attention it needs without adding extra strain to your already-packed routine. It’s an easy addition before or after a workout, or even as a standalone "reset" session.
Step into the studio with expert coaches, like Angie, and walk out feeling like the best version of yourself.
Mobility isn’t just about stretching—it’s about building a body that moves well, feels powerful, and performs without restriction.
Because when you move better, you live stronger.

Raising Strong Kids
AT GENESIS-PAC

WHAT CHILDREN SEE, THEY BECOME.
Long before kids understand sets, reps, or nutrition, they are quietly learning by watching you. When they see you prioritize movement, push through a tough class, and take care of your body, it plants a powerful seed. Fitness is not just something you do. It is something your children absorb.
When you walk through the doors at Genesis-PAC after a long day, you are sending a message. It says that health matters. It says that effort matters. It says taking care of yourself is not selfish, it is necessary. Kids who grow up seeing this begin to normalize it. Movement becomes a natural part of life, not something they avoid.
There is a deeper impact, too. Kids are incredibly perceptive. They notice if you quit when things get hard or if you keep going. When they see you show up consistently, even on the days you do not feel like it, they learn resilience. You are not just building your body. You are shaping their mindset.
One of the most powerful things you can do is include them in the routine. When you bring them to the club and drop them off at Playland or the YAC, they see that the gym is a positive, energetic place. It becomes a shared family lifestyle instead of something that takes you away from them. It does not have to be perfect. You do not need the longest workouts. A quick 30-minute session on the turf or a Saturday morning group class is enough. These small actions, repeated over time, create a lasting impression.
YEARS FROM NOW, YOUR KIDS WILL NOT REMEMBER HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU LIFTED. BUT THEY WILL REMEMBER THAT YOU SHOWED UP. THEY WILL REMEMBER THAT TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF WAS IMPORTANT. AND MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, THEY WILL CARRY THAT BELIEF INTO THEIR OWN LIVES.
DOGGIE DAY TENNIS TOURNAMENT

The Best Place for Seniors on the Northshore
Finding the right gym when you are an older adult can be frustrating. It seems like a lot of clubs around town just do not get it. Some places completely ignore seniors and only focus on the heavy lifters. Other places treat you like an afterthought, only allowing you to come in for a short time before they rush you out the door to make room for everyone else.

We do things entirely differently at Genesis-PAC.
We know that our senior members are the heart of our community. That is why we never put a time limit on when you can be here or treat you like
a second-class member. You are always welcome to come in, take your time, get a great workout, and stay to chat with friends. We want you to feel right at home. What really makes the PAC the best option for seniors is our staff. We have amazing personal trainers and group exercise instructors who actually cater to senior fitness. Instructors like Kim and Jenny know exactly how to help you move better, improve your balance, and stay strong safely. They understand that fitness is not one size fits all, and they take the time to work with you so you feel confident and supported every step of the way.
Whether you want to take a guided class, do some light strength training, or just walk the trail and catch up with your friends, Genesis-PAC has the space and the people to help you do it.
Stop by the club today and see why we are the top choice for senior fitness and community.
Let’s be honest. Showing up to the gym every single day can be tough. Some days you have tons of energy, and other days you just want to stay on the couch.
But you know what makes showing up a whole lot easier?
Knowing your friends are already there waiting for you.
We see it all the time here at Genesis-PAC. The members who get the best results and stick around the longest are the ones who work out with their friends. When you build your community at the club, fitness stops feeling like another chore on your to-do list. It becomes your social hour. It becomes fun.
Bring Your Friends

When you have your crew with you, you push each other a little harder. You celebrate the small wins together. And on the days you really don’t feel like moving, your friends give you that extra push to just get it done.
Since we transitioned to Genesis, we kept the exact same Pelican Athletic Club community you know and love. We just elevated the experience. And the best way to enjoy that experience is to share it.
Do you have a friend, neighbor, or coworker who needs a little push to get moving this summer? Bring them along.
