Mixed-Use Community Building
ARCH 3500 | FALL 2025
Instructor: Prof. Brown
In collaboration with Jude Plyler
The Urban Bind is a mixed-use community building located in Chelsea, NYC that stitches together public programs through vertical circulation, light, and sectional overlap. The building is organized to encourage visual connection and interaction between spaces across multiple floors.

SUBTRACTION
The building massing responds to its adjacency to the High Line by following the linear conditions of the site while selectively projecting outward to engage the surrounding city. Volumes are carved and slanted in increase sightlines and visual connections between floors. Inspired by Kintsugi, shattered glass, and quilts, the project treats fragmentation as a strength, using the building as a binding element that stiches together diverse programs and users.

Art Museum
ARCH 2520 | SPRING 2025
Instructor: Prof. Yusufoglu
The Cayce River Art Museum is a civic arts space rooted in the landscape of Cayce, South Carolina. Shaped by the local quarry and Saluda River, the project frames art through material, light, and open-air circulation, creating a museum experience.

Gallery spaces curve around a central courtyard, using the courtyard as an organizing and visual anchor throughout the museum. Large interior openings and window frame views back into the courtyard, allowing light to filter into the spaces. Mezzanines spaces create layered interior relationships, offering moments of visual connection between levels.

Bathhouse
ARCH-2510 | FALL 2024
Instructor: Prof. Floyd
This bathhouse and wellness retreat is shaped by the curving topography of the site, using soft, flowing forms that follow the landscape. The sauna and relaxation spaces overlook a lake and the surround forest, creating a quiet, immersive environment. The project explores how architecture can enhance wellness by blending form, movement, and natural context into a cohesive spatial experience.
