CANADA DAY BINGO
FILL OUT THE CHART FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN JACK SHIT AND HAVE SOME FUN IN THE PROCESS Written by Winona Young, Gabrielle McLaren, Aaron Richardson
Some rando wearing a Canadian flag as a cape.
Molson Canadian beer cans littering the streets.
The entire crowd of people watching the fireworks in a state of perpetual apology as they constantly bump into each other.
Cops doing absolutely nothing about everyone smoking weed because they’re just as high.
Fireworks going off in the middle of the afternoon.
Some embarrassingly intoxicated guy wearing a red cowboy hat.
A CBC host who isn’t wearing red or white while reporting on Canada Day.
Your neighbour, who didn’t own a flagpole yesterday, flying a Canadian flag.
Someone ironically playing “Party in the USA.”
Saying “Thank god we don’t have Trump as our ruler, right?”
Anyone (including yourself) deciding it’s never too early to get drunk for your country (because patriotism).
Remembering the first line or two of “O Canada,” then quietly hiding your mouth with your drink.
Maple syrup everything.
Somebody pretending that there was a big empty void where Canada is now before July 1, 1867.
Our Lord and Saviour Michael Bublé being invited to sing songs that aren’t from his Christmas album.
Trusting someone to paint a maple leaf on your cheek, and seeing they painted a red marijuana leaf instead (you leave it on because, hey, we do live in Vancouver.)
People saying “People came to this land at X year!’ and forgetting that Indigenous people were here first.
Celebrating with an American immigrant who came here after Drumpf was elected.
T-shirts, tote bags, buttons, something, anything with Justin Trudeau’s face on it.
Smelling weed. Everywhere.
A Canada flag where the maple leaf is replaced with the devil’s lettuce.
Someone forgetting that weed is still illegal and openly smoking in front of a cop.
Somebody saying that they are celebrating "not being American."
Someone bravely trying to snort and/or smoke maple syrup.
