WHAT GRINDS OUR GEARS? Keeners who kiss the prof’s ass while I’m trying to kiss the prof’s ass There’s nothing more annoying in a lecture than some keener forcing a chit-chat with the prof during class time. I totally get that you want to make yourself known with the person marking your papers. But you’re not the only one who's trying to kiss their ass — you’re cutting in on my asskissing time, and I will not stand for this. I get it; you think the prof is cool and funny and a chill person. But guess what? The prof is my homie, and you can’t do anything about it. You don’t get to banter with them, I do! You don’t have the mentor-style relationship that we have. I guess it’s “kind of weird” I care about sucking up to a prof that much. Could it be from unresolved father issues that result in me spending higher academic career trying to gain the approval of one old white man after the next? Maybe, but I don’t care! All I know is that that prof is mine!

"Over time, there's been a networking effort creating a fairly cohesive group of people that are connected to SFU or that eventually become connected to SFU to work on all of these issues,” Cardoso notes.
“You’re welcome to come and be fed,” Cardoso jokes.
"I do a lot of things," Cardoso admits.
“I’m interested in how immature juvenile bone degrades over time and how juvenile bone responds to different kinds of chemical forces,” Cardoso says.
