SERMON OUTLINE GENTLENESS THAT RESTORES Mending What Is Torn Galatians 6:1–5
1. HOW I SEE YOU – Neither Above Nor Below “Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.” – Galatians 5:26 Provoke: I need to establish myself as above you. Envy: I experience myself as beneath you.
2. HOW I TREAT YOU – Restore, Don’t Discard “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently.” – Galatians 6:1 We restore what we refuse to throw away. • Something is genuinely wrong. • Someone is inherently valuable.
3. WHAT I OWE YOU – Share the Burden. Honor the Responsibility. “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2 “…for each one should carry their own load.” – Galatians 6:5 Common Ground: Some things we carry for one another. Personal Responsibility: Some things we must carry for ourselves.
