SERMON OUTLINE

AWARE

Psalm 32

Becoming Aware Means Discovering …

1. What Sin Conceals (vv. 1–4)

I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin. The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. Even on their beds they plot evil; they commit themselves to a sinful course and do not reject what is wrong.

2. What Love Reveals (vv. 5–7)

Your love, L ord , reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, L ord , preserve both people and animals.

3. What God Makes Real (vv. 8–9)

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” – CS Lewis

Daily Dwell: October 5-11

“In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.” - Psalm 36:2

STUDENT SPONSORSHIPS

In Malawi, the government provides free education through primary school. If a child wishes to go to high school or further in education, they must pay those fees themselves.

In the Chitipa District, the annual income for a family is $500 a year; a year of high school costs $400, tech school costs $1,000, and college costs $2,500.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19

12:30-3pm | Room 2306

Young Adults are invited to join us on a Journey of Generosity (JOG). We’ll meet at Peachtree for a catered lunch and then together we’ll look at Scripture, hear inspiring stories, and have honest conversations about what it means to live faithfully with the gifts God has given us. It’s a great chance for personal reflection as we are challenged to discover how true generosity can transform our lives and the lives of others. We hope to see you there! Please register below if you plan to attend!
