There was once a poll of the American people asking, “What is your greatest source of emotional support and satisfaction?” Answer: “My family.” Nothing else came close. The next question was, “What is your greatest source of emotional turmoil?” Answer: “My family.” Again, nothing else came close. Families bring us our highest highs and our lowest lows. Jesus was born into the bittersweet complexities of a human family. If you’ve ever wondered if God knows the struggles of family life, the answer is yes.
