PATIENCE THAT WAITS TOGETHER
Acts 2:1-13
Patience stands firm through suffering
“Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

Patience grows in community, not in isolation
“…they were all together in one place.”

“Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.”

Prayer reorients us as we wait
Prayer opens us to God’s will.
Through prayer, God prepares us for the Holy Spirit’s movement.
The Holy Spirit still meets us today
Patience prepares us to recognize and participate in the ongoing work of the Spirit.
