AAC Storytime with Children’s Author Jennifer McGee (Ages 2-5) Friday, January 16th @ 10:30am Join author, artist and disability advocate Jennifer McGee for a AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) storytime, game, and Q&A discussion of her book, Izzy Can’t Talk. She founded Inclusive Art House, an art and literature publishing company that empowers disabled persons in a positive way. No registration required.
Food Flavor Experiment and Author Visit (Ages 5-10) Friday, January 23rd @ 4:00pm Join us at the Peachtree City Library for an interactive visit with local author JoAnne Swihart as she reads Picky Izzy Learns to Love Healthy Food. Then we’ll dive into some interactive fun with a Food Flavor Experiment of our own! We’ll follow Izzy’s adventure while participating in both visual and interactive “taste bud tests” that explore how our senses—taste, smell, sight, and even texture—help us decide whether a food is yummy or yucky. Valentine’s Day Card Community Fundraiser Craft Program (All Ages) Saturday, January 31st @ 2:00pm Families and children are invited to decorate Valentine’s Day Cards for cancer patients at Piedmont Hospital. Make one card to give to a patient and one card to keep for your someone special. All proceeds support Healing with Art N’ Sounds Therapeutic services, for individuals who cannot afford mental health care. Sponsored by Newnan Kiwanis Club.
Engineering for Teens Workshop (Ages 10+) Wednesday, January 7th & 14th @ 4:00pm Students aged 10 and above are invited to a two-day, handson engineering workshop at the Peachtree City Library. This workshop will focus on physics, simple machines, and chainreaction builds. Participants will design and construct their own chain-reaction machine through immersive and interactive sessions. Drop-In Lego Day Program (Ages 5+) Tuesday, January 27th @ 4:00pm Join us at Peachtree City Library for an exciting hour of open LEGO building and fun. Children are invited to unleash their creativity as they construct imaginative creations using colorful LEGO bricks. This free event fosters teamwork and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment. For ages 5+, however parental supervision is required. No registration required.
