A note from your Neighbourhood Manager Whitecross is at its best when residents help shape the future of the estate. Whether you have ideas for improving communal spaces, feedback on estate services, or concerns you'd like us to address, your views help us understand what matters most to the community and where we should focus our efforts. There are many ways to get involved, including attending resident drop-in sessions at St Luke's Community Centre, joining estate walkabouts, speaking directly with your Neighbourhood Team, or reporting issues and sharing local priorities. I would like to say a sincere thank you to all residents who continue to take the time to engage with us. Whether you've shared your opinions through the TRA, by contacting the Neighbourhood team, or simply by stopping for a conversation when you see us around the estate, your feedback is invaluable. By sharing your experiences of living at Whitecross, you help us make informed decisions and work together to create positive changes that benefit everyone.

You told us, we acted Strengthening local partnerships Residents at Whitecross told us they wanted us to work more closely with Islington Council and other local agencies to help address concerns on the estate and improve the local community. In response, we've strengthened our partnership working with Islington Council, Community Safety Teams and the Safer Neighbourhood Team. By working together more closely, we're taking a joined-up approach to tackling local issues, improving community safety and supporting initiatives that benefit residents. Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback. Your views are helping us shape our services and make a positive difference across Whitecross.
Keeping our communal areas safe and secure We have seen an increase in the number of key safe boxes being installed outside blocks across Whitecross Estate. While key safes can provide a practical solution in some circumstances, any installation requires permission.
Making the most of storage spaces Following discussions with the TRA, we'll be carrying out an estate-wide audit of storage cupboards across Whitecross. The audit will take place in phases. Details of upcoming audits will be displayed on noticeboards in your block and shared with residents by email. Where we cannot identify the owner of a storage cupboard from our records, we'll place a notice on the cupboard asking the owner to contact us. This work will help us understand demand, make the best use of available storage space, and identify opportunities to improve storage provision for residents in the future.
As part of our ongoing work to maintain safe, secure and welcoming communal areas, we are carrying out a review of key safes across the estate. Where key safes have been installed without permission and ownership cannot be confirmed, we may arrange for them to be removed. This review will help ensure that communal areas remain accessible, well maintained and secure for everyone, while supporting the overall appearance of our buildings and shared spaces. Details of the review and any proposed action will be communicated through estate noticeboards and resident communications. We appreciate residents' cooperation and support as this work is carried out.
Please park considerately To help ensure parking is fair and accessible for everyone, only vehicles displaying a registered permit may park on the estate. Please remember that there are no allocated spaces, and all bays are available on a first come, first served basis. If you're using a disabled bay, a valid Blue Badge must be clearly displayed. Please note that a Blue Badge does not allow parking outside a marked bay. Updated signage shows where parking is permitted. Vehicles parked in breach of the rules may receive a penalty notice and could be towed away at the owner's expense. Advice & Wellbeing hubs
Residents at Whitecross are invited to come along to the monthly Advice and Wellbeing Hub that takes place every second Thursday of the month.
It seems odd to be thinking about winter after the summer we have just had, but before the cold weather arrives, take a few minutes to check that your boiler and heating are working properly. Simply turn on your heating and hot water and make sure everything fires up as expected. Testing your system early can help identify any issues before temperatures drop and demand for repairs increases. If there is a problem, you'll have more time to arrange a repair and avoid long waits during the busiest time of year. A quick check now could make all the difference later. No one wants to start winter in a cold home without heating or hot water. By acting now, you can stay one step ahead and make sure your home is warm, comfortable and ready for the colder months.
