I'm Guy and I've been working as a Neighbourhood Manager in Pembury since late 2025.
Beforehand I was a Housing Officer for Croydon Council and have worked for local authorities and housing associations in London and Hertfordshire
I look after Neighbourhoods in Pembury alongside my fellow Neighbourhood Manager Justin Gibbs.
My role varies from day to day, but is focused on supporting residents with tenancy and estate related issues and enquiries. This includes Tenancy Amendments, Estate Inspections, Antisocial Behaviour, and Successions, to name a few.
I have enjoyed getting to know residents through the monthly Pembury Wellbeing Hub where residents can speak directly to the various teams involved with the estate.

You said, we did. Pembury’s new media wall.
We’re pleased to share that work to our new the new media wall is almost complete!
The media wall will house our TV and gaming consoles and become a real focal point in the youth space, modern, vibrant, and built with young people in mind.
You may have noticed new wiring and shelving being installed earlier this year alongside a new coat of paint Pembury Community Centre was recently awarded funding to transform the Youth Area, based on what Pembury’s young people told us they’d like to see
Through conversations and feedback sessions the young people involved told the team that they’d like for a media wall to be installed.
Over the last few months they’ve been involved with choosing the colour scheme, design and equipment; as well as highlighting features that would make the space feel more welcoming and genuinely built for them.
We can’t wait to see the space welcome people and come to life.

Plumbing & DIY Basics: Skills for Home and Work
Wednesday 6th May 10:30am - 12:30pm Hindrey Road, Hackney, E5 8HQ (Behind Pembury Community Centre, please follow signage on the day)
We’ve partnered up with KBH Haus to offer a series of free workshops, as part of their Haus Academy.
This is a hands-on, confidence-building workshop focused on everyday home skills, alongside an introduction to plumbing as a potential career pathway.
The session will cover:
Unblocking toilets, baths and sinks.
Isolating hot and cold water.
Understanding water pressure.
Get gardening this Spring!
With the weather warming up it’s the perfect time to get involved with the Pembury Community Garden on Hindrey Road.

These gardening sessions are open to everyone at Pembury, no experience needed Join us every other Tuesday from 5 30pm to 7.30pm and every other Saturday from 2pm to 4pm.

Pembury People: Meet Rosa
Celebrating together
Pembury is home to many motivated and inspirational people. We spoke with one resident, Rosa, who is leading the way as a small business owner with her children’s books, haircare line and newly opened salon.
It was fantastic to see residents, families and friends at the Pembury Community Centre in Hackney this week, come together to celebrate Chinese New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse in February.
A brilliant programme from Jun Mo Generations featured stunning Lion and Dragon dances, with performers of all ages bringing colour and energy to the hall to the beat of drums There was also a Qi Gong demonstration from Dao Lu CIC, alongside delicious vegan Asian dishes provided by Vegan Biosphere.
From bedtime stories to beauty business
There was also face painting and plenty of New Year themed activities for the kids. Traditional red envelopes (hongbao) were shared to wish everyone luck and prosperity for the year ahead. It was a really vibrant, joyful event that was full of community spirit.
Well done to everyone involved for making this wonderful evening happen.
Looking ahead to the next 10 years
Last year marked the 10 year anniversary of the Pembury Children’s Community and Pembury Community Centre.
It was great to see so many people get involved throughout 2025 to celebrate this milestone together.
We’re now looking ahead to the next 10 years, starting with finding out what residents in and around Pembury would like to see happen.
Focus groups are currently running to help shape the next decade at Pembury We have held a workshop with 19 young people who highlighted food, socialising, mental health and safety as priorities

Following these workshops, we will be doing a survey to understand a little more about who lives in your household and what they want to get from the community centre.
We will also use the survey to check that the goals we have created from the three workshops resonate with you. This will help us make sure that we deliver the right things.
