Your resident association is a great way to connect with your neighbours and share your views on what’s happening in your community.
The Fish Island Village Resident Association (FIVRA) has moved the FIVRA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was originally due to take place on Saturday 21 March, to Saturday 9 May 2026.
This is because there are currently a number of works taking place across FIV which are addressing resident concerns such as your concierge service, communal landscaping seagulls and more.
FIVRA will be holding an open house event at The Trampery for residents to drop in and speak to suppliers involved with the works, staff from the local council, members of the local police service, local businesses, internal Peabody teams and more, as well as your FIVRA representatives.
The AGM will be held at the Trampery in the late afternoon, and will be followed by a social event. More details will be announced closer to the date, so please make a note on your calendars!
Concierge service
Your local Peabody team and FIVRA have been working together over the last few months on the procurement process for a new concierge at FIV.
In early February we interviewed shortlisted applicants and we are now in the final stages of appointing the concierge service
We hope to be able to introduce you to your new concierge service operators in late March or April.
Seagulls
We are aware of ongoing issue around Glow Court where some seagulls are nesting. The team are currently looking into various approved methods to deter these birds from settling on the rooftops.
Gulls are a protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. This means it is illegal to intentionally cause harm to a gull, damage their nest or prevent them from accessing their nests.
The team are actively in conversation with specialist contractors to discuss short-term and long-term solutions. Any potential solutions are likely to be put in place in phases, so we can test what works for Fish Island Village.
We appreciate your patience as we work towards a solution for this issue.
Free after school activities
Every Wednesday, 4pm - 6pm The Trampery, Rookwood Way, E3 2XT
We’ve partnered with YOH to start a new programme of activities for Fish Island’s young residents aged 8 – 16.
Sessions will run every Wednesday from 4.30pm and will include a wide range of activities including:
Boxercise, cooking, movies and more Regular trips and outings Homework help
Run in partnership with YOH, an award winning charity with over 25 years experience creating supportive spaces for young people. Sessions are led by trained, safeguarding aware staff.

Get involved with planting at Fish Island Village

Come along and get involved with planting at Fish Island Village with the Groundwork Green Team.
Groundwork London are working with Peabody to replant the 3 existing steel planters in the Trampery Courtyard at Fish Island.
You don’t need to bring anything, we’ll provide the tools and gloves. Just turn up!

Local Councillor drop-in surgery

One of the local councillors for Fish Island Village, Abdi Mohammed, will be holding drop in surgeries at The Trampery at Fish Island Village
Stop by and speak to one of your local councillors, Abdhi Mohammed, at upcoming drop-in surgeries held at The Trampery This is in addition to the weekly surgery held every Saturday at the Bow Idea Store with Cllr Marc Francis and Cllr Amina Ali

Since October 2025 over 350 homes have had their Heat Interface Unit (HIU) serviced by TBrown, as part of essential works to resolve ongoing issues with heating and hot water at FIV.
As of mid-March the team will be booking in appointments for homes in Phase 3:

We’re continuing to work closely with Hill to look into solutions for the issues with uneven paving alongside Herftord Union Canal.
As we mentioned earlier in this newsletter three steel planters in the Trampery Courtyard will be replanted on Tuesday 14 of April. Please come along and get involved with planting alongside the team from Groundwork London
The planting of trees, shrubs and other greenery is expected to begin in June. The team will be starting with the courtyard in the centre of Adansbeck, Lampada, Therm, Glow and Gaslight Courts.
Entrance doors
You may have noticed contractors working on the entrance door at Murdoch Court recently.
The team have installed a prototype door, which is being tested out before it is installed to blocks experiencing issues with doors across FIV
We’re currently reviewing the door and suggesting improvements, to help us get these changes right across the neighbourhood.
What is a Heat Interface Unit (HUI)?
Although the HIU is located inside your flat and looks similar to a normal boiler, it is part of the overall network that provides heating and hot water to everyone at Fish Island Village.
This means that it is Peabody’s responsibility to maintain and service it. We will need access to every home to help keep your and all your neighbours’ homes comfortable.
