Ching Way - November 2024

Welcome to your local newsletter With nearly 500 homes and more than 1,200 residents, there’s always a lot happening around Ching Way, and we want to make it easy for you to stay in the loop. In each issue, you’ll find updates from resident meetings, news on repairs and maintenance, event details, and stories featuring your local Peabody team and neighbours. Plus, we'll include tips on the support available to you as a Chingway resident. This newsletter doesn’t replace the usual updates you get about repairs, rent, or other essential info from Peabody, so keep an eye out for those as usual.

Your local team Vicky Carey-Duff, Neighbourhood Manager I know that having someone local to talk to can make all the difference when you want to know something or have a problem. That’s why I’m here - to listen, provide support and connect you with the services you need to keep you safe, secure and comfortable in your home. I can help with questions about your tenancy, and I can put you in touch with colleagues who can help with things like repairs, questions about your rent, community safety or any other issues. I’m in your neighbourhood on a regular basis, visiting residents, checking on communal areas and supporting our community activities. So, if you see me out and about, please come and say hello, it would be great to meet you. I am also available at our Ching Way office every Thursday for a Resident drop-in, if you wish to pop in and speak with me. My contact details can be found at the end of this newsletter. Please reach out to our contact centre to book an appointment or phone call with me, or drop me an email if your issue is not too urgent and I will aim to respond within 5 working days.

Resident Drop Ins Every Thursday, 10am to 2pm Ching Way Office 7 Ching Way, Chingford, E4 8YD. Drop in to discuss any issues, concerns or support you are looking for with your Neighbourhood Manager, Vicky Carey-Duff. PGM Contractors will also be available to speak with every fortnight during these drop in times.

Your local team Elaine Daley, Community Investment Lead In my role as Community Investment Lead for Waltham Forest, I bring people together and help make things happen locally. Sometimes we work with partners who deliver activities that residents have told us they want to see. Part of my role is also to make sure that people are aware of the different activities happening locally and to make sure that services offered are good quality. I work alongside Doug (Youth and Community Coordinator) and a fantastic group of volunteers. I also partner with Peabody colleagues, including the Neighbourhoods team, to ensure our efforts are well-coordinated and effective. You can also contact me on elaine.daley@peabody.org.uk or on 07961 950 053.
