Winn Man Farms 2014 Welcome to our 13th annual bull sale. Congrats to those of who braved the storm and stayed in the cow business. We all look pretty smart now (at least for a couple of years, fingers crossed). Thank you all for your friendship and continued support. This years bulls are again ranch raised. Their mothers are calved out alongside our commercials on grass in 100 acre calving fields. This year we'll calve over 800 cows in the real world with no hired men so they have to work or nature culls them. Calving ease, vigor and udder type are a must as they don't get any TLC. They are weaned in late November, put on grass in April/May and brought in in late November to get ready for the sale. A lot of producers don't seem to want to explain how their bulls are developed. I think most of you cattlemen would be shocked at some development and feed programs. Its something all good cattlemen should research. Here's the need to know about our program in plain “cattleman's common sense” that you don't need a dictionary to understand.. -WE DON'T CREEP FEED so our weights are real just like when you take your calves to town. -Our bulls are developed gently like breeding cattle (not feedlot cattle) You won't find self-feeders of barley here, just silage based TMR's. We find that bulls last longer when they aren't torqued. -They have been vaccinated twice for type 1 & 2 IBR/BVD with the Modified Live Vaccine Pyramid FP5. They have had 2 Blackleg and Haemophilus vaccinations and have been treated with Ivomec several times. -Their mothers have also been vaccinated with Pyramid FP5 and everything on the ranch is on a full mineral program. -All bulls are registered with the Canadian Charolais Association and are age verified. Please come early and be our guests for a complimentary roast beef lunch and refreshments at noon.
