SHORT-TERM RENTAL REGISTRATION
On January 1st, Palmetto Dunes POA will begin accepting short-term rental registrations for 2024. This annual registration is mandatory and remains valid from January 1st through December 31st. It is important to be aware that registering your short-term rental property with the POA is both free and a separate requirement from the permit and business license required by the Town of Hilton Head. To ensure full compliance with Palmetto Dunes POA, your 2024 short-term rental registration must be submitted by April 30th. Initiate your free registration process beginning January 1st at https://resident.symliv.com/palmettodunes/login. For first-time registrants with Palmetto Dunes, please create an account; the community code is PDPOA. Returning applicants can log in and register a new rental; your previous registration information should autofill, allowing you to make any necessary changes before resubmitting. Should you have any inquiries, please contact our Visitor Management Coordinator, Julius Ingram, at jingram@ pdpoa.org.
ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS
For 2024, the annual residential assessment will remain steady at $1900, with no increase. The diligent efforts of our Management, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors have allowed us to manage costs effectively while still maintaining our community's aesthetic and providing quality service. Annual assessment bills will be available by the second week of January. Owners can easily pay their assessments through their individual online portal. In the upcoming weeks, owners with active email addresses will receive a notification, prompting them to either make their payment online or mail in a check. If the Association does not have an email address on file, we will mail an invoice.
LAGOON LOWERING
January 3 & February 7 Our lagoon system is periodically lowered to promote the health of the waterway. Please note that dates are always subject to change/cancellation.

Forming the 2024 Nominating Committee Every year the Nominating Committee encourages owners to consider their candidacy for the board, meets with candidates to discuss their experiences and perspectives and recommends candidates to fill the available board seats (typically three). As prescribed in the PD Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is comprised of five members— the Nominating Committee Chair, one current Director and three owners who are not Board Directors. Interested owners are invited to apply to join the Nominating Committee. As a member of the Nominating Committee, you will help recruit, interview and recommend candidates for our Board. Your efforts will prescreen and vet Board candidates that owners may confidently vote onto the Board. If you have considered joining a committee in the past, this might be the ideal opportunity for you. It is an important, hands-on role which requires a fair amount of your time spread over several months. Members of the Nominating Committee are required to: • Be a current owner in good standing (no outstanding payments, fines or violations) with the POA • Have an eye for talent • Not seek to join the 2024-2025 board yourself (via the nominating or petition process) • Have a passion for Palmetto Dunes If you would like to be considered for the Nominating Committee, please send an email to kfaires@chamblisslaw.com by February 1, 2024 indicating your interest. The goal is to select and announce three new committee members no later than March 1, 2024. Then the work of recruiting and meeting with board candidates begins with a goal to recommend candidates by July, 2024. The recommended candidates will appear on the 2024 ballot alongside any others who may choose the petition route. We hope you will consider volunteering for this opportunity as we seek to make Palmetto Dunes the best it can be. Thanks in advance. — Kurt Faires, 2024 Nominating Committee Chair
