September brings a fresh start as summer winds down and routines settle back in. With cooler mornings, busy schedules returning, and fall just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the last days of summer and look forward to the season ahead.

One Practice, Coordinated Patient Care

As the end-of-summer rush turns into the back-to-school routine, I wanted to touch on the topic of coordinated care for our patients.
When Dr. Kramer developed the concept for PDG over fifty years ago, he was clearly ahead of his time. His vision for pediatric dentistry was truly revolutionary.
Partnering with Dr. Kennedy, they established the first joint pediatric orthodontic practice in BC. Dr. D. Scheideman joined them a few years later, and today PDG sees thousands of patients each year, many of whom are second-generation patients.
Even though the business model of complementary pediatric and orthodontic care has been replicated, PDG was the original. The benefits of providing integrated care are numerous; enhanced communication between a child’s pediatric dentist and orthodontist results in seamless care.
Seeing familiar faces on both the reception and clinical teams creates a warm and nurturing environment for younger and older children. My goal for the coming months is to improve the systems that support integrated care. Often, the best ideas come from you as you interact daily with our patients.
