Happy June!

I always love this time of year with the start of summer weather and the anticipation of the end of the school year. Graduations, end-of-year events, and report cards are hallmarks of June.

In the spirit of report cards, I thought I’d touch on the topic of performance reviews in my message. Over the past few months, I’ve participated in performance reviews for various staff. Some people loathe these annual evaluations and some people love them.

The purpose is to provide you with constructive feedback on your performance over the past year, but just as importantly, it’s an opportunity for you to share your feedback with your manager and doctors.

The most valuable thing a manager can provide is honest, objective feedback. Sometimes that feedback is difficult to hear, but if you take 24 hours and consider the feedback was given to support you in your role, I guarantee you’ll see it in a different light.

That sentiment goes both ways. Providing your manager with honest feedback will help them in their role so they can better support you.

The performance review process is never perfect but it’s a necessary part of a thriving workplace.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the process and if you think we can improve.

As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusivity, PDG is adding a preferred prefix to each employee folder in our ADP system More updates are coming in the next few days

We have both Dolphin and Tracker to ensure the correct prefix is assigned to every patient profile because getting someone’s name and title right matters.

Renovation Update

A quick update on our Vancouver and Delta spaces: wallpaper installation is now expected to take place in mid-June for both locations.

We’ll share another update once the Delta timeline is confirmed.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we continue making improvements to our clinics.

Summer Reminder

As summer approaches, we also want to share a friendly reminder that ant season is here, especially in Delta.

To help keep our clinic spaces clean and comfortable, please try to enjoy food in the lunchroom whenever possible and avoid leaving crumbs behind, as they can attract ants.

We are sharing the designated First Aid Attendants for each location so staff know who to contact for first aid questions, incidents, or emergencies. All First Aid Attendants are certified in Basic First Aid with CPR/AED training.

When needed, they may ask staff to complete an Injury or Incident Report Form for documentation and support.

GRAND OPENING

Oakridge Park has officially opened, transforming the former Oakridge Centre into one of Vancouver's newest shopping, dining, and community destinations.

Connected directly to our medical building, it offers convenient access to restaurants, retail stores, green spaces, and more.
