FROM THE PUBLISHER
CLOSE TO HOME e began publishing the Palm Beach Charity Register 18 years ago to showcase local nonprofit organizations and their major fundraising events, as one of many ways we support the important role they play in our community. We created this annual guide not only to recognize these groups and their efforts but also to connect them with you, the people in the best position to help them carry out their mission. Without your support of their events, these organizations simply cannot do their crucial work. And your support is more critical than ever today; according to several university-based philanthropy research centers, charitable giving is down nationwide. Fortunately, however, local opportunities to show your generosity abound. In fact, the sheer number of black-tie galas, formal gatherings, golf tournaments, culinary adventures and other fundraising occasions might actually seem overwhelming to even the most generous spirit. That’s where the Palm Beach Charity Register comes in, serving as an indispensible reference to help you channel your benevolent energies over the next 12 months. We contact hundreds of area nonprofit groups each year to gather information about their causes and their events, and this year’s edition presents another wide array of organizations for your consideration. As an advocate of many of them, we have seen how the tireless efforts of staff members and volunteers— combined with generous patrons—can result in amazing things. We encourage you to see it for yourself. Accordingly, we stand together with the advertising partners who have helped make this valuable resource possible. Every advertiser appearing in these pages publicly demonstrates a commitment to the community by showing support for the awareness of worthy local causes and the betterment of society as a whole. Regardless of which charities you call your favorite, please remember that each organization in the Palm Beach Charity Register deserves thoughtful deliberation. Your benevolence will help them meet their financial needs, which is an all-too-real matter right now. We hope you will join us in our efforts to make this a better place to live for everyone. You can make a difference.

THE COSMETIC FILLER CHOICE OF CELEBRITIES SCULPTRA
here is no need to fly to Beverly Hills! Dr. Shino Bay Aguilera is one of the top 5 injectors for Sculptra in the entire United States and is also a Top Platinum Level master injector of Botox and fillers for Allergan! Sculptra when done well can easily erase decades off your apparent age and you will look as young as you feel. The results can be dramatic producing a youthful, symmetric, invigorated look. Sculptra is different from other dermal fillers in that it is not a gel or other substance that is injected to erase a specific wrinkle or fold. Sculptra works entirely by stimulating the body to create its own new collagen. When done correctly, this creates a more gradual and very natural increase in facial volume, which is why it is so popular among celebrities. People will comment on how great and young you look but
near the jaw and looking less masculine. Dr. Aguilera masterfully administers Sculptra to recreate the masculine jaw that the years have diminished or adds a more masculine jaw line that genetics simply did not create. For women, he can resculpt the softness and roundness of the jaw line and build it back up to a plump, round, youthful volume and tightening the loose skin in this area. Like a master artist sculpts, Dr. Aguilera will recreate the younger looking masculine or feminine jaw and youthful face that the years have diminished. Celebrities and our patients alike have discovered the wonderfully unique benefits of Sculptra! Dr. Shino Bay Aguilera is a world renowned Cosmetic Dermatologist, Dermatologic Surgeon, Cosmetic Laser
over 22 of the world’s leading edge, premier, laser and cosmetic technologies to optimize your results. never realize that you have had anything done because the increase and improvement although dramatic is gradual and natural. Each day that passes will result in additional collagen synthesis. You are apparently “growing younger.” The new collagen synthesis will cause the skin to reflect more light which gives the skin an overall more youthful and rested appearance without anyone knowing you had any treatment at all! The effect is realized at about week eight after injection with improvements continuing up to six months. This is a very long lasting filler of up to two years. Another huge benefit is that this product fights against demineralization that so many aging women begin to have around the mouth that cause the chin to become receded and pointy. On men, jaw lines decrease as bone loss in that area softens them, loosening the skin

A Resort within a Resort.
S
ure, you’ve probably heard this proposition many times, but with Devonshire at PGA National, one of the most desirable Life Care retirement communities in Florida, the “Resort within a Resort” description truly fits. Make sure you look at all the others first, because once you visit Devonshire you will realize that you have saved the very best for last.
Beautifully situated on 26 acres within PGA National, Devonshire represents the height of luxury and accommodation. From concierge services and valet parking to fine dining and a spectacular environment, everything has been designed to please the senses. Devonshire’s amenities rival those of the area’s top-rated resorts. Amenities that include a modern fitness center, beauty salon and spa, five world-class dining venues and the popular Stratford Performing Arts Center—all within a luxurious 65,000 square foot Club House. Located in the active, upscale community of Palm Beach Gardens, Devonshire is minutes from boutique shopping, fabulous restau-
rants, cultural events, museums and entertainment. There are also two airports within forty minutes to make travel easy.
Financial and Physical Security. At face value, Devonshire presents a remarkable opportunity for a remarkable retirement lifestyle. Take into account how the benefits of Life Care only add to that proposition—estate preservation, predictable monthly expenses, unlimited access to a continuum of high quality health care—and it becomes easy to see what a remarkable decision it would be to make Devonshire your retirement destination.
