Platt Lane Sports Complex – Yew Tree Road, Manchester M14 7UU Located in the south central Manchester suburb of Fallowfield, Platt Lane offers a variety of top quality pitches (both indoor and outdoor) a fully equipped state of the art gym and maintains the site’s football heritage left by previous tenants Manchester City Football Club. The Platt Lane Complex is now jointly owned by the Football Association and the Manchester Metropolitan University. There are a total of six football fields, including a state of the art DESSO pitch as used by Manchester City’s first team and Under 21 team. A full size grass pitch, two full size 3G pitches, two indoor astro turf pitches and a small outdoor astro complete the facilities at the campus.

Welcome Hello and a very warm welcome to the 2018 over 50’s Four Nations football tournament. England are extremely proud to host the event this year and we hope our friends from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland enjoy the facilities at the Platt Lane sports complex - the former training ground of Manchester City football club. This is the 8th time that the four home nations have come together to compete in this prestigious ‘international’ competition and we look forward to another enjoyable and high quality tournament – the standard of football just seems to improve every year. We hope everyone enjoys the occasion especially those involved for the very first time - it is a great tournament and of course it is a great honour to represent your country. We also hope everyone takes the opportunity to make new friends and renew old acquaintances. We would of course like to thank Manchester Metropolitan University for use of their facilities and also give a big thank you to those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to both raise money and organise the whole event. We would also like to thank the match officials and of course the many supporters who have travelled with each of the teams – it wouldn’t be the same without you.
