Welcome Hello and a very warm welcome to the 2024 Over 55’s Four Nations Football Tournament, proudly sponsored by European Maintenance Supplies.

PROUD SUPPORTERS OF THE 2024 OVER 55’S FOUR NATIONS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

England are extremely proud to host the event this year and we hope our friends from Wales, Northern Ireland and Maccabi enjoy the facilities here at Kirby Muxloe FC. This is the fifth time that the Over 55’s ‘international’ tournament has taken place. The inaugural tournament was hosted by Northern Ireland in Newcastle in 2018. It was contested by the hosts, Wales and two Welsh club teams. England and the RAF joined the fray in 2019, hosted by Wales in both Cardiff and Barry but the 2020 tournament was unfortunately cancelled because of the COVID pandemic. It was England’s turn to host in 2021 and this time England Over 60’s were invited as the fourth ‘nation’ – England’s 55’s lifted the trophy with three wins out of three at today’s venue. The 2022 tournament, hosted in Northern Ireland was unfortunately cancelled at the very last moment due to the Queen’s death but in 2023 England successfully defended their title, this time on foreign soil, in Barry, Wales with Maccabi joining the competition for the first time. This year’s tournament once again includes Maccabi and is sure to be as keenly contested as previous competitions. We hope everyone enjoys the occasion – it’s a great tournament and we expect the standard of football to be very high. We also hope everyone takes the opportunity to make new friends and renew old acquaintances. We would of course like to thank Kirby Muxloe Football Club for use of their excellent facilities here at Ratby Lane and also give a big thank you to those who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to both raise money and organise the whole event.
