Eden Barrington Eden is our youngest member of staff at Guardian, She has been involved in the business for eight years. She certainly is been gifted with ways of the funeral industry. We provide a friendly, caring and professional service for bereaved families, when it matters most. Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult situations that we will face in our lives. It is never easy. Here at Guardian we will guide you through step by step. Our promise is that we will make it as simple as possible. All you need to do is call. We also believe that Funerals don’t have to be expensive. Guardian operates an Ethical Pricing Policy, which means we can give your loved one the Funeral that you want, for a price that is affordable. Unlike some funeral directors, we are proud to be totally independent, meaning we can tailor our services exactly to your requirements, whatever they may be. Traditional Church service to completely non-religious, cremation, burial or green burial we are able to advise on all aspects of your loved one’s service and make all the necessary arrangements. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide help or advice when it is needed, without obligation.
My name is Alison, I’m a funeral director and embalmer here, I’m also a celebrant. My training goes back to when I was a young girl as I come from a family of funeral directors. I came back into the funeral industry about 16 years ago. I studied to become a Embalmer, this is something I enjoy because I am responsible for your last memory of your loved one. My work at Guardian is more than a job to me, it’s my life. I’m both a Mum and a Nana. We live in Baildon so we are proud to be part of Baildon and Shipley community. All of my children have been brought up in the funeral industry. I want families to know that our family will go above and beyond any corporate company to fulfil your loved ones wishes. I grew up in Bradford, actually only two minutes up the road from the home. I went to Hanson school, and being part of the community is still important to me. I think this is a way I
Castiel Barrington Castiel has worked with us for the last 10 years, before he went on to university for Criminal Psychology and Leeds Beckett University. He now works with the West Yorkshire Police and we are all very proud of what he has accomplished. Regardless of working away, Castiel still lends a helping hand around the business
Heather Battye Heather did a placement at Guardian last year, and she was the first ever placement allowed within a funeral home by Leeds Trinity University. She is a dedicated member of staff and went on to complete her degree in Philosophy Ethics and Religion. We are very proud of what Heather has achieved.
Pall Bearers We have a strong dedicated team of Pall Bearers and attendants who work for us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Between them they have 35 years of experience, so your loved ones are in safe hands.
Daniel Barrington Daniel has been a celebrant now for eight years. Daniel ran a community church in Otley and has preached in churches throughout Yorkshire.He serves families all over Shipley, Leeds, Bradford, Harrogate, York, and Huddersfield. Daniel will make each service unique for every family. Daniel is a dedicated celebrant with hundreds of 5 star testimonials. He gives each family as much time to make sure that they can get all of there loved ones life put into words to create a wonderful and unique service . We care deeply about this because we only get one chance to say goodbye .

Many feel that they are releasing the spirit of a loved one to journey onwards and upwards. I always work closely with your funeral director to ensure the smooth co-ordination of the release. We take great pride in our work and we feel honoured to be able to offer our service to you and your departed loved one.
It is usual for the release to take place at the end of the cremation service on exit from the chapel or at graveside as the final act after the interment. I will liaise with the funeral director and always set up in good time. I have a selection of beautiful poems which you can choose from for either me or a chosen person to read before the release. This adds an element of ceremony to the release aswell as explaining the significance of releasing the doves at this time.

The loss of a loved one is never easy, often people feel they wish to mark the passing with a meaningful tribute. The release of white doves at the end of a funeral is a visual way of celebrating a life and a poignant way of saying a final farewell with both beauty and dignity. It also marks the end of a funeral service on an uplifting note.
Any number of doves can be released, from a poignant single dove representing your loved one to a full flock of 12 as a spectacular tribute. Often families have their own reason for releasing a particular number of doves, such as one per grand child, or a pair representing the reuniting of a couple in death, or a single dove representing your loved one followed by a flock to represent the love of family and friends to escort the deceased on their final journey.
