As someone who has been immersed in Dubai's crypto landscape for over a decade, I’ve witnessed first-hand the evolution of this remarkable journey—and the pivotal role it is playing in shaping the future of finance.
The Foundation of Dubai’s Crypto Ecosystem Dubai’s crypto infrastructure did not emerge by chance. It has been the result of deliberate, strategic efforts to position the city as a global hub for digital assets. Several key factors have contributed to this growth: Regulatory Clarity Dubai’s regulators recognized early on that clarity breeds confidence. The Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) was established to create a clear, secure

A Regulatory Model That Encourages Growth One of Dubai’s most significant advantages lies in its progressive, accessible regulatory environment. Having personally experienced the regulatory application process in both Europe and Dubai, the contrast is undeniable. While Europe is known for its stringent and often complex regulatory frameworks, Dubai's approach through VARA has been not only user-friendly but also encouraging. Rather than being met with red tape and bureaucratic delays, the process in Dubai was welcoming and supportive—designed to invite innovators and assist them in navigating the application journey. This is more than just operational efficiency; it's a strategic intent. Dubai understands that in the fast moving world of crypto, ease of entry is key to fostering innovation. VARA operates with a clear focus on transparency and security, but it also ensures that entrepreneurs and investors feel supported. There is an open - door mentality — a readiness to engage, answer questions, and provide guidance throughout the process. This balance of strict compliance with a user - friendly approach is what makes Dubai stand out. It's a jurisdiction that understands the pace of the crypto world and has crafted its regulatory framework to match that pace. The result is a business ecosystem that feels accessible, efficient, and truly global in its outlook.
Why Crypto Entrepreneurs Choose Dubai Dubai has rapidly become a magnet for crypto startups, exchanges, and blockchain innovators. This is no coincidence but the result of a carefully crafted ecosystem that champions growth, supports innovation, and offers a lifestyle that’s second to none.
Ease of Doing Business Dubai’s commitment to facilitating business growth is unmatched. The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Crypto Centre stands as a testament to this, offering a dedicated hub for blockchain and crypto businesses. Entrepreneurs benefit from streamlined licensing, industry - specific resources, and a supportive regulatory framework that prioritizes growth. Beyond DMCC, Dubai’s network of free zones, such as the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), provides 100% foreign ownership, zero import / export taxes, and simplified regulatory processes. Here, startups find an environment designed for speed, efficiency, and strategic growth, with minimal bureaucratic obstacles.

Access to Capital Dubai is home to one of the region’s most vibrant and forward-thinking investment ecosystems. Entrepreneurs have direct access to angel investors, venture capitalists, and family offices that not only understand crypto but actively seek out new opportunities in the sector. Dubai hosts high-profile events like the Future Blockchain Summit and Crypto Expo Dubai, offering unmatched access to global investors. This ecosystem doesn’t just fund ideas — it nurtures them with strategic insights, international connections, and operational guidance, creating fertile ground for scalable ventures.
Global Connectivity Strategically positioned as a gateway between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Dubai offers unparalleled global connectivity. Within an eight-hour flight, entrepreneurs can access two-thirds of the world’s population, making Dubai an ideal launchpad for global expansion. Beyond logistics, Dubai’s diverse business community and global network provide crypto businesses with opportunities to collaborate, expand, and access international markets effortlessly.
Lifestyle Appeal Dubai’s appeal extends beyond business. It is a city that offers a luxurious, cosmopolitan lifestyle — a factor that continues to attract global entrepreneurs. With world - class dining, luxury living, exclusive wellness retreats, and vibrant cultural experiences, Dubai offers a holistic environment where professionals can thrive both personally and professionally. The absence of personal income tax enhances wealth retention for high-net-worth individuals, and the city’s focus on security, infrastructure, and family-friendly communities makes it an ideal base for long-term growth.
Dubai’s Crypto Future Dubai isn’t just building a crypto hub. It is building the future of finance. The city’s combination of regulatory clarity, business infrastructure, and global ambition make it a natural hub for the future of digital finance. For crypto entrepreneurs, investors, and innovators, Dubai offers more than just opportunity—it offers a visionary environment where ideas can thrive, and global impact can be achieved. And for traditional financial institutions, the message is clear: crypto is not the future—it is the present. Those who embrace it in Dubai will find themselves not just keeping pace but leading the charge. Dubai isn’t just investing in technology. It is investing in the future of global finance.
GC: OPINION How Game Theory Shapes Modern Life. The Power of Strategic Thinking In today’s fast-paced world, strategic decision-making is more critical than ever. Whether navigating corporate negotiations, building long - term relationships, or making everyday choices, understanding the fundamental principles of game theory provides a powerful advantage. Originally developed by mathematician John von Neumann and economist Oskar Morgenstern in the 1940s, game theory gained prominence through John Nash’s work on equilibrium strategies. Since then, it has evolved into an indispensable tool used in economics, political science, psychology, and beyond. At its core, game theory explores strategic interactions where the outcome of one participant’s decision depends on the choices of others. It provides a lens through which we can predict behavior, optimize decisions, and navigate the complexities of competition and cooperation. Whether in boardrooms, personal relationships, or global diplomacy, game theory offers insights into how we can win by thinking several moves ahead.
Game Theory in the Workplace: A Guide to Strategic Thinking The corporate world functions as a vast strategic game where executives, managers, and employees engage in decision-making scenarios reminiscent of classic game theory models. Whether negotiating deals, managing office dynamics, or responding to competitors, understanding these frameworks can provide an edge.
Negotiation and the Ultimatum Game One of the most well-known applications of game theory is in negotiation, particularly in salary discussions, mergers, and contract deals. The Ultimatum Game demonstrates that fairness plays a crucial role in decision-making. In this scenario, one party proposes a division of resources, and the other must accept or reject it. If the offer is rejected, both parties receive nothing. In business, executives understand that negotiation is not solely about maximizing immediate profit but also about fostering long - term partnerships. Offering an
P-7
unfair deal may lead to rejection and reputational damage. Skilled negotiators use behavioral game theory principles to acknowledge human emotions and ensure that perceived fairness enhances cooperation.
The Prisoner’s Dilemma: Office Politics and Collaboration Corporate teamwork and office politics often mirror the Prisoner’s Dilemma, where individuals must decide whether to cooperate or act in selfinterest. If both parties collaborate, they achieve the best outcome. However, if one defects while the other remains loyal, the defector gains an advantage while the other loses. If both defect, both suffer. For example, two departments working on a shared project may either share resources (cooperate) or withhold information to gain internal recognition (defect). Smart leaders cultivate an environment where cooperation is incentivized, preventing cycles of mistrust and inefficiency.
The Nash Equilibrium: Strategic DecisionMaking at the Executive Level A Nash Equilibrium occurs when no player benefits from unilaterally changing their strategy, assuming others remain unchanged. This concept is crucial in corporate competition. Consider a price war between two firms. If one lowers prices, it gains market share unless the competitor does the same, leading to mutual losses. Recognizing equilibrium points allows
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
businesses to anticipate competitor moves and avoid mutually destructive strategies.
Game Theory in Relationships: The Strategic Nature of Human Interaction Just as in the corporate world, interpersonal relationships are deeply strategic. The ways in which individuals build trust, handle conflicts, and negotiate emotional exchanges often follow game - theoretic principles.
Tit-for-Tat: The Foundation of Trust and Reciprocity The Tit-for-Tat strategy, one of the most successful in repeated interactions, starts with cooperation and mirrors the other party’s actions in subsequent encounters. In relationships, this approach fosters mutual trust. If one person consistently supports their partner, friend, or colleague, they are likely to receive similar treatment in return. However, betrayal can lead to retaliation, creating cycles of negative reinforcement.
The Commitment Game: Dating and Long-Term Relationships Commitment in relationships is a strategic decision akin to long - term business partnerships. Many delay commitment to keep their options open, mirroring businesses that hesitate to invest before market conditions stabilize. From a game-theoretic perspective, commitment serves as a binding mechanism that
fosters trust and reduces uncertainty, ensuring stability for both parties.
game theory helps craft communication strategies that maximize engagement while protecting reputation.
The Chicken Game: Conflict Resolution and Emotional Standoffs
The Stag Hunt: Social Cooperation in a Polarized World
In high-stakes arguments, people often engage in the Game of Chicken, where both parties escalate their positions, waiting for the other to concede. This applies to workplace disputes, romantic relationships, and executive standoffs. Knowing when to yield strategically—without losing credibility—is a skill that differentiates great leaders and successful partners from those who let ego dictate outcomes.
The Stag Hunt dilemma highlights the choice between individual security and collective benefit. This concept applies in political discourse, corporate alliances, and even local communities. Leaders who understand this dynamic can foster collaboration in environments where trust is fragile, ensuring that shared commitments lead to greater collective rewards.
Game Theory in Everyday Life: Navigating Social and Digital Landscapes Beyond business and relationships, game theory shapes various aspects of modern life, from online interactions to political decision-making.
Social Media and the Reputation Game In the digital era, reputation management is a strategic game where each public interaction affects influence and credibility. Companies and individuals must balance authenticity with calculated messaging. Aggressive marketing may alienate audiences, while excessive caution leads to obscurity. Understanding
Winning the Game of Life with Strategic Thinking Game theory is not just an abstract mathematical concept; it is a powerful tool for understanding the strategic nature of human interactions. Whether in business, relationships, or everyday decisions, recognizing the game at play enables individuals to make smarter choices, anticipate reactions, and foster meaningful connections. For executives, applying these principles is not just about optimizing strategy—it’s about mastering the art of influence, negotiation, and leadership in a world where every move counts. In a landscape of fierce competition and delicate cooperation, thinking several steps ahead is the ultimate game-changer.

Andrew Mreana Geographical & Cultural Environment Q How would you describe the general business culture in Dubai vs. Cyprus when it comes to client acquisition? Dubai is a Fast-paced and competitive financial hub with a strong emphasis on innovation, luxury, and high stakes. The business culture is highly competitive, with firms constantly trying to differentiate themselves and attract high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Also, Dubai has a progressive regulatory framework (under the Dubai Financial Services Authority, DFSA) that is supportive of financial services but requires firms to maintain high standards of compliance which helps in building credibility with clients. The city’s huge expat population also means there's a diverse range of potential clients, many of whom may have an appetite for high - risk, high - reward investments like FX/CFD trading or other similar type of investments or businesses. Cyprus on the other hand, is a bit different, and after spending almost 20 years on the island, I have some insights indeed. Cyprus, as an EU member, offers businesses access to European clients, which can create a slightly more conservative approach to client acquisition compared to Dubai. However, it’s still a hub for FX/CFD brokers, tech firms, fintech companies, etc... due to the low corporate tax rates and favorable regulatory environment provided by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). It’s known to be less formal than Dubai, and has a more relaxed, personal approach to business relationships. While networking is equally important, there is generally more emphasis on long-term relationships and building trust through transparency and service. Of course, it’s also worth mentioning that we are speaking about 2 completely different cultures overall that serve 2 completely different audiences, so it makes sense to have some big differences. Q Is there a difference in how trust is established with clients in each region? Trust in Dubai is often built through reputation, exclusivity, and face - to - face relationships. The market is highly competitive, so clients tend to trust established brands with a proven track record.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Personal connections and direct interactions play a vital role in cultivating trust, on the local market and also internationally. If we look at the FX/CFD’s market, clients tend to trust firms that are licensed and regulated by the DFSA more, rather than international bodies with recognized standards due to the local regulatory framework almost flawless reputation. Trust in Cyprus is typically established through transparency, regulation, and customer support. Word of mouth, personal contacts and reputation also play a strong role in Cyprus, due to its size as an island, especially when it comes to people seeking advice from their peers in the FX/CFD or business, tech, fintech or payments space.
Client Base & Target Markets Q What types of clients do you typically deal with in Dubai vs. Cyprus (retail, high - net - worth, institutional)? Dubai is home to a significant number of financial institutions, asset management firms, hedge funds, and family offices. These clients typically engage in more complex, larger-scale trades and seek advanced trading tools and platforms and most of them are at Institutional Client Level. Institutional clients are focused on liquidity, execution speed, and access to global markets. They are less interested in retail trading but may engage in FX/CFD trading for hedging purposes or to manage large portfolios. For institutional clients, the sales focus is on providing robust infrastructure, liquidity, and technology solutions. Institutional sales are often about offering bespoke services, reliability, and customization. Cyprus is a popular hub for retail traders due to its favorable tax regulations, CySEC's regulatory framework, and the low cost of entry to the FX/CFD markets. It attracts both beginners and intermediate traders, many of whom are from Europe and other nearby regions. Retail clients in Cyprus are typically interested in platforms that are easy to use, have a broad range of educational tools, and offer low spreads and competitive leverage. They also look for security and a regulated environment, normally provided by CySEC. Cyprus also has a high number of high - net - worth individuals, they are generally fewer compared to Dubai, however, Cyprus still attracts wealthy clients looking for
P - 11
an EU-based, regulated environment with lower taxes and favorable financial services. Q Are client expectations or trading styles different between the two regions? Absolutely. As mentioned previously, cultural differences and market focus are completely different and so are the trading styles. Q In which location do you find it easier to convert leads into active traders or businesses into clients, and why? Personally, I would say almost equal, but I am being subjective as over the years I worked very hard in building my social presence by presenting many international events and participating in dozens of others as moderator. Also, my YouTube channel brought me some popularity but trying to be fair and square, speaking the local language and understanding if not sharing the culture absolutely helps and plays and vital part in doing business. So, normally for Europeans it would make sense to find it a bit easier to do business in Europe and vice versa.
Work Environment & Pressure Q Is the sales pressure higher in Dubai or Cyprus — in terms of KPIs, call targets, or revenue goals? From my 14 years' experience in retail and institutional sales and marketing ..... the bigger the marketing budget, the bigger the expectations are from the management therefore the bigger the pressure on the sales teams. All markets have become very competitive over the past few years, there is a flood of services and service providers, and this led or will lead to a uniformization of sorts in terms of fees and offering. This is the time were creativity, outside the box thinking, proactive thinking and a good team make a big difference in sales figures. Q Do you feel more like a "closer" or a "relationship builder" in either market? When I first started in the industry, I wanted to be the Closer and I managed. Over the years I’ve understood that building relationships is what will benefit both myself and the company in the long run and reputation and trust are more important than smashing sales targets just for the bonus. Here is an insight, for a short time I worked as a car salesman in the UK at one of the biggest luxury car dealerships in Kent. We were a big team of about 25 – 30 salespeople and our targets were “1 a day keeps the boss away” so about 26 cars per month. Although the top 3 Closers almost
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
doubled the numbers every month selling between 50 and 65 cars, almost half of the deals came back within 30 days as they were pushed into bad deals by The Closers for the sake of an extra deal. After my 3rd month in the company, I entered the Top 5 Salesmen with a consistent 24 – 26 deals per month and 0 recalls on any of my deals. So, I guess that's when I became the Relationship Builder, and this method kept me and my employers happy over the years.
Compensation & Lifestyle Q I know you’ve lived in Cyprus for almost 20 years, but you’ve also visited Dubai many times for business or pleasure. Which location offers better financial incentives — base salary, commission, or bonuses? Obviously, Dubai, but the cost of living is very much worth taking into consideration and also the lifestyle. A downside for example in Dubai for Europeans is the VISA status, language barrier and some culture barriers but the life quality seems to be higher. In Cyprus, life is a bit more non sophisticated, easy access to Europe, more European vibe let’s say and of course still a hot island but bot as hot as Dubai. A downside in Cyprus is the increased cost for housing in the past few years and an overall increase in prices, bringing it on some things on par or very close to Dubai prices. Another downside for Cyprus is that average or above average salaries are taxed heavily but somehow on par with the EU region, banks are not very receptive to loans or mortgages or credit cards with foreign nationals but somehow the people on the island manage to find a balance. Q Do you find the lifestyle in Dubai or Cyprus more conducive to long-term success in sales? It all comes down to who your target audience is and the product that you are selling. Of course, the Dubai lifestyle being very flashy tends to attract more eyes for sure but if you are looking to do business in the EEA area, than the focus is more on Cyprus as it gives easier access to the markets.
Performance Metrics & Tools Q Do you work more inbound or outbound leads in each region? Again, I am privileged to have a wide network and good social media presence, so personally I get a balance of both inbound and outbound requests from my network. From a business perspective though, I believe companies should focus on generating organic Inbound requests and with a good product, a skilled mid

vironment and not everyone is made for it, but the ones that manage to find a balance and make it to the finish line will eventually be pleased with the result. Some of them might be on Xanax or need Therapy, but at least they will be able to afford it.
Q Where do you feel more valued or respected as a salesperson — Dubai or Cyprus?
Q If you had to choose one location to build your longterm business career, which would it be, and why?
I haven’t had the pleasure of working in Dubai yet so I couldn’t give you an exact answer on this one. haha To be respected as a salesman, you know what they say .... You are as good as your last deal was. This is a tough one. We all know that it takes a thick skin to last in sales for a long time, especially when the standards are high like nowadays, and this is one of the reasons sales jobs have very high incentives. You trade one for the other. Like The Wolf of Wall Street once said, “You want respect, go get a job at McDonalds” ☺
Hehe, it’s 20 years too late for that question, isn’t it?! I can’t say that I’m not intrigued by Dubai, but after almost 20 years in Cyprus it would take an exceptionally good offer to make me consider it, but life taught me that everything happens for a reason at the right time so... who knows what the future reserves.

If you asked me 20 years ago, again it would have been difficult to answer as Dubai wasn’t the hub as it is today. Investing in real estate back then would be an amazing idea knowing what we know today though.

GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
As the UAE continues to solidify its position as a global financial hub, the SCA plays a crucial role in fostering a stable and competitive investment landscape. Financial service providers looking to operate in the country must obtain an appropriate license from the SCA, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements tailored to different financial activities.
Q What are the different SCA License Categories? SCA offers different licensing categories depending on the nature of financial services. These include: Category 1 – Dealing in Investments as Principal: Covers firms engaged in proprietary trading and investment activities. Category 2 – Dealing in Investments as Agent: Suitable for firms facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers without taking principal risk. Category 3 – Asset Management: Designed for firms managing investment portfolios on behalf of clients. Category 4 – Custody: Encompasses firms responsible for safekeeping and administration of financial instruments. Category 5 – Arranging and Advice: Focuses on financial consulting, advisory, and promotional activities without direct handling of client funds. Each category has distinct requirements related to capital, compliance, and operational structure, ensuring that financial services in the UAE adhere to global standards.
Q Why Is Category 5 Important for Financial Service Providers? Securing a Category 5 license under SCA offers significant advantages, such as: •
Regulatory Credibility: Operating under SCA regulation enhances trust and transparency, making firms more attractive to investors.
•

GC: THINK The Psychics Who Beat Wall Street During the long, monotonous days of lockdown, while others experimented with banana bread, I found myself going down the YouTube rabbit hole of watching endless videos about the projects carried out by the Stanford Research Institute and its leaders, Russell Targ and Hal Puthoff. These names may not seem recognizable at first glance, but you might be familiar with their work, which inspired TV series like Stranger Things and, several years earlier, Fringe. The film The Men Who Stare at Goats also touched on some of the principles behind their research. However, Targ and Puthoff felt the film sensationalized their work and did not portray it accurately. For those unfamiliar, Puthoff and Targ were at the forefront of the CIA and U.S. government’s psychic research programs. They believed they were engaged not only in a silent war for military dominance but also in a covert battle for superiority in the realm of psychic spying. Before their collaboration at Stanford Research Institute (SRI), both Puthoff and Targ had solid credentials in mainstream science and engineering. Puthoff held a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University, worked for the National Security Agency (NSA), and conducted laser research at
Stanford. His early work focused on quantum electronics and tunable lasers. Russell Targ, meanwhile, was a physicist and pioneer in laser and beam technology. He worked at several major defense contractors, including Lockheed, where he developed airborne laser systems and contributed to early work on masers and laser radar (LIDAR). Their reputations as credible scientists helped them secure funding and attention when they shifted focus to the controversial study of psychic phenomena—an unusual but serious pivot that would come to define their legacy at SRI. To pursue this, Targ and Puthoff launched the remote viewing program—a form of controlled extrasensory perception (ESP) in which participants attempted to describe hidden or distant targets using only their minds.Remote viewing involved placing individuals into a calm, focused state and giving them minimal information—sometimes just a set of coordinates or a coded reference number. From there, viewers were encouraged to record raw impressions, often through sketches or simple descriptions, while avoiding analytical interpretation. The results were sometimes astonishing: participants accurately described secret military installations, sketched classified submarine designs, and even, in one documented case, claimed to perceive the surface of Mars as it appeared one million

years ago. These sessions were taken seriously enough to be documented in official government records and formed part of a broader Cold War-era effort to explore psychic phenomena for intelligence purposes. I’ll leave it to you to decide whether these stories are true, but one thing is undeniable: they are compelling tales that, once heard, leave you asking, "What if?" One story that particularly intrigued me was their experiment involving the silver market. This was notable because it allowed for quantifiable results—success or failure could be measured in terms of profit or loss. What followed was a string of startling successes that defied logic, captured headlines, and challenged conventional thinking about perception and probability.
The Birth of Delphi Associates In 1982, Targ, along with psychic researcher Keith Harary and businessman Anthony White, founded
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Delphi Associates. Their goal was audacious: to apply remote viewing techniques to the silver futures market and turn psychic impressions into profitable trades. Each week, Harary would enter a meditative state, attempting to visualize where the price of silver would be by week’s end—higher, lower, or unchanged. These impressions were interpreted, recorded, and used to guide trading decisions. Although the financial world dismissed the idea, the early results were hard to ignore. Over nine consecutive weeks, Delphi Associates correctly predicted the directional movement of silver prices. The group earned approximately $120,000—an impressive figure that drew attention from both financial experts and scientific skeptics. Their success made headlines, earning a front-page feature in The Wall Street Journal and coverage in a 1983 NOVA documentary. The story sparked debate, captivating audiences with its blend of science, speculation, and psychic phenomena.
However, the winning streak didn’t last. As the experiment continued, predictions became inconsistent. Misinterpretations of Harary’s visions, combined with the volatile nature of the silver market, led to financial losses. Several factors contributed to the decline. Harary’s mental impressions were often vague, and interpreting them required subjective judgment, which opened the door to error. The unpredictable nature of global markets—shaped by countless variables—also posed challenges beyond psychic insight. Critics seized on these shortcomings, arguing that early successes could be explained by statistical flukes or subconscious cues. The lack of scientific rigor in later experiments further fueled skepticism and cast doubt on the methodology’s reliability. In hindsight, the Delphi Associates experiment was both a fascinating success and a foreseeable failure. It demonstrated that unconventional methods could, at least temporarily, yield intriguing results—but it failed to offer the consistency needed for sustainable success. The true achievement lay in its audacity — in challenging conventional thought and daring to explore the unpredictable. The experiment became less about profit and more about pushing the boundaries of human understanding, prompting serious conversations about perception, intuition, and uncertainty. Targ’s legacy is one of curiosity and courage.
From laser technology to psychic research, his career reflects a relentless commitment to exploring the unknown. Though remote viewing remains controversial, Targ’s work expanded the discourse on human perception and the potential of unconventional insight. His experiments, particularly with Delphi Associates, stand as a testament to the value of questioning established limits. For professionals in finance and beyond, the story of Delphi Associates offers two enduring lessons: innovation often comes from embracing uncertainty, and navigating unpredictable systems requires both boldness and humility. Remote viewing may never become a mainstream trading strategy, but the spirit of inquiry it represents is invaluable. The story of Targ and Delphi Associates isn’t just about psychic phenomena or financial gain. It’s about intuition, ambition, and the remarkable outcomes that emerge when people dare to ask, “What if?” In an era dominated by data and algorithms, this chapter of history reminds us that human intuition still has a place. Whether through technology, unconventional thinking, or pure curiosity, the drive to understand complex systems continues to propel innovation forward. Perhaps Delphi Associates’ true legacy is not their fleeting financial success, but their willingness to challenge convention and explore what lies beyond it.

Dubai: Business Beyond Limits CHARLES SAVVA
Q What draws your attention to Dubai as a global business destination, and how do you see it evolving in the coming years? Dubai has successfully positioned itself as a leading global business hub by offering a unique combination of strategic location, progressive economic policies, and a highly favorable tax environment. The emirate’s leadership has consistently demonstrated a long-term vision for economic diversification, moving away from oil dependence towards sectors such as finance, technology, logistics, and renewable energy. This foresight, coupled with world-class infrastructure, has made Dubai a magnet for multinational corporations, entrepreneurs, and high-net-worth individuals. One of Dubai’s greatest strengths is its ability to adapt quickly to global economic trends. Over the past two decades, it has established itself as a premier destination for global wealth and investment through its free zones, favorable corporate tax policies, and business - friendly regulations. Even with the recent introduction of corporate tax, Dubai remains one of the most tax-efficient jurisdictions globally, particularly when compared to Western financial centers.
Looking ahead, I anticipate that it will continue to attract top - tier talent and investment, further cementing its reputation as the economic powerhouse of the Middle East. Q What personal experiences or observations have shaped your perspective on Dubai as a place for business growth and investment? Having worked closely with international investors and businesses, I have seen firsthand how Dubai provides a dynamic and well - regulated business environment. Its commitment to innovation, ease of doing business, and investor-friendly regulations make it an attractive jurisdiction. My experience advising clients who operate across multiple jurisdictions has reinforced my view that Dubai offers a compelling mix of tax efficiency, accessibility, and economic stability. Dubai, and the UAE as a whole, has become our leading jurisdiction for client acquisition in recent years. Q What are the primary advantages for businesses choosing to establish themselves in Dubai? The key advantages include:
In the coming years, I see Dubai continuing to enhance its global standing through advancements in digital finance, AI-driven business solutions, and sustainable investment initiatives. The emirate is already a frontrunner in fintech and blockchain innovation, and its push towards smart city infrastructure and green energy will further solidify its appeal to international investors. Additionally, Dubai’s role as a financial bridge between Europe, Asia, and Africa will grow even stronger as geopolitical and economic shifts drive businesses and investors toward stable, strategically located jurisdictions. Overall, Dubai’s combination of regulatory stability, business incentives, and long-term economic planning makes it an unparalleled global business destination.

•
A zero personal income tax environment
•
A competitive corporate tax rate, even with the recent changes
•
A highly developed financial sector and access to capital
•
A strategic location connecting East and West
•
Robust infrastructure and a business-friendly regulatory framework
•
A thriving expat community and workforce availability
Q How does Dubai’s infrastructure and connectivity enhance its appeal to international investors and entrepreneurs? Dubai’s world-class infrastructure—including its ports, airports, and logistics hubs—ensures seamless global connectivity. Dubai International Airport is one of the busiest in the world, and its free zones cater to a variety of industries. The digital infrastructure is equally strong, allowing businesses to operate with efficiency and innovation. Q For businesses looking to expand into the Middle East, how does Dubai offer a competitive edge compared to other financial centers? Dubai has successfully positioned itself as a gateway to the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond. Compared to other regional hubs, Dubai offers unmatched regulatory transparency, ease of business setup, and a stable economic and political environment. Its legal system is designed to protect investors, and its diverse economy makes it a safer bet than jurisdictions overly reliant on a single industry.
P - 25
Q Dubai is known for its favorable tax regime. Could you explain the key tax benefits that make Dubai attractive for investors and business owners?
Q How does Dubai's regulatory framework foster a balance between innovation and compliance for international businesses?
Dubai’s tax benefits include:
Dubai has managed to strike a balance between encouraging innovation and ensuring regulatory Scompliance. The government has introduced business-friendly laws, such as flexible licensing and investor protection policies, while also adopting international best practices in compliance, AML, and financial transparency. This makes it attractive for companies seeking both stability and growth.
•
No personal income tax
•
Competitive corporate tax at 9% (still one of the lowest globally)
•
No capital gains tax in most cases
•
No withholding tax
•
Special economic zones and free zones with attractive tax incentives
Q With the introduction of corporate tax in the UAE, how has the landscape shifted, and what opportunities or challenges does it present? The introduction of corporate tax at a standard rate of 9% marked a significant shift in the UAE’s tax landscape. However, it is important to highlight that this remains one of the lowest corporate tax rates globally, particularly when compared to Western financial centers where corporate tax can exceed 20–30%. The change aligns the UAE with international tax standards while preserving its competitive edge as a low-tax jurisdiction. Despite initial concerns, we have not observed a decrease in demand for company formations in the UAE. On the contrary, the region continues to attract businesses due to its strong economic fundamentals, strategic location, and business - friendly regulatory environment. Many businesses recognize that even with corporate tax, Dubai and the UAE still offer unparalleled benefits, including tax exemptions for qualifying free zone entities, no personal income tax, and a robust infrastructure that supports multinational operations. Rather than deterring investment, the new tax framework has brought increased clarity and stability to the UAE’s business environment. Investors and business owners appreciate the predictability and transparency it provides, making long-term strategic planning more effective. Additionally, many businesses are restructuring their operations to optimize tax efficiency while remaining fully compliant with the new regulations. Overall, the UAE remains one of the most attractive jurisdictions for global businesses, and we continue to see strong demand from clients looking to establish and expand their presence in the region.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Q Are there specific sectors where Dubai's tax advantages are particularly beneficial, such as finance, real estate, or technology? Yes, sectors such as finance, fintech, real estate, and technology benefit greatly. The absence of capital gains tax and the favorable corporate tax regime make Dubai attractive for investment funds, asset managers, and tech entrepreneurs. The free zones also cater specifically to niche industries, further enhancing the tax benefits. Q How does Dubai compare with Cyprus in terms of tax efficiency, business incentives, and strategic location? Both jurisdictions offer excellent tax efficiency, but they cater to slightly different profiles. Cyprus, for example, provides a highly advantageous tax system for non - domiciled individuals and an EU - compliant corporate tax regime. Dubai, on the other hand, offers a tax-friendly environment with proximity to the Middle East and Asia. The choice depends on a company’s operational needs—Cyprus is often preferred for EU market access, while Dubai is a stronghold for Middle Eastern expansion. Q What can Cyprus learn from Dubai’s approach to attracting international investment, and vice versa? Dubai’s ability to create an ultra - modern, investor-friendly ecosystem is something that Cyprus can learn from, particularly in terms of digital transformation and streamlining business procedures. On the other hand, Dubai can take lessons from Cyprus in maintaining long-term tax certainty and aligning its regulations further with European standards to attract investors seeking stability within an EU framework. Q Which investment sectors in Dubai do you see experiencing the fastest growth, and why? Fintech, real estate, digital innovation, and renewable energy are among the fastest-growing sectors. Dubai is heavily investing in sustainable finance and technology, positioning itself as a leader in these areas. The government’s support for tech startups and green energy initiatives is particularly noteworthy.
Q How is Dubai positioning itself in terms of sustainable investment trends, especially in sectors like fintech, green energy, and digital innovation?
Q How can companies ensure they remain compliant while taking full advantage of Dubai's business-friendly regulations?

Navigating Dubai’s Banking Barrier. VIKTORIA SOLTESZ Lately, a growing number of entrepreneurs have moved to the city. But their decision is rarely based on commercial logic, operational scale, or market opportunities. For both startups and established companies, the move is mostly driven by tax and regulatory preferences. Dubai is widely known for its business-friendly regulator and favourable tax rules. But while this attracts foreign capital, it does not always result in a structure that actually works.
What is legal doesn’t always mean it’s viable While Dubai offers low taxes and light - touch regulation, access to banking and payment services remains a serious concern. Entrepreneurs often realise this too late—after paying hefty fees for their advisors and launching the structure, they expect easy access to global financial channels - something which simply doesn't exist for them. There is a growing disconnect between what looks ideal on paper and what works in reality. Many forget that banks are not there to support low - tax structures. They are meant to protect the financial system. Some businesses are excluded from international payment networks altogether. Others face unusually high-risk payment and banking options which can result in delays, steep fees and even lost funds.
Banks are safeguarding the financial system It’s not about banks being difficult or blocking innovation. Banks have a very important task, as they are supposed to safeguard our current global financial system. They are regulated under very strict conditions and forced to apply their own filters—ones that operate independently of tax advice. Banks are not willing to take the risk of opening their systems to fund flows that may originate from untaxed or unverified sources. Any structure that appears designed only to avoid tax or exploit regulatory gaps is blocked. Any payment flow touching crypto, sanctioned countries such as Russia or Iran, or coming from loosely regulated markets is limited. And whichever bank is taking the risk - there is a reason. These financial institutions are usually less regulated and therefore inherently posing a significant risk for the operation they serve. Even if a structure is fully legal, it can still be flagged by the traditional banks. Even when a business is transparent, it can be left without access to safe and secure banking options. And when the solid banks say no onboarding, no processing, no account, companies often have no other choice but to trust their funds to
riskier providers, paying higher fees and facing significant delays in international money flows.
Paradigm shift Too many companies still believe that tax and regulatory planning come first and underestimate the importance of "bankability." The traditional way of thinking—set up first, solve payments later—no longer works. Today, the focus is on viability. Businesses need to understand what jurisdictions, structures, and activities banks and payment providers will actually support before designing their activities and building operations, not the other way around. By the time they realise this setup doesn’t work, it’s already too late.
Lack of education and understanding Payment and banking today impact customer experience, risk management, technology, product development, data security, compliance, finance, and more. They should be considered a standalone function—an essential element of business strategy, not just a part of finance. The ones who manage payment and banking tasks are not adequately trained to do so. Key areas, such as how payments and banking affect technology, UX, compliance, and other essential parts of a business, are absent from accounting, economics courses, and MBAs. Payment and banking consultancy is not something you can learn from a textbook. It requires years of hands-on experience, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of how global regulations work together.
The dangers of introducers The market is still built on the idea of introductions. Instead of planning properly, many companies rely on peer contacts and so-called payment and banking experts. These introducers are often simple resellers who work on commission. They claim to offer advice, but in reality, they are sales agents. This is not only a massive conflict of interest but also very dangerous. The higher the risk, the more these shady providers pay in commission. So the worst options are the ones most aggressively sold. It is not rare to see unregulated providers being recommended, just to delay or disappear with funds, or cause serious operational disruptions.
Importance of independence Independent consultancy is more important than ever. But real independence — without commission deals — means companies need to invest in building an overall payment and banking strategy upfront. In the larger scheme of things, it doesn’t cost much to get it right from the beginning, but it can be very expensive to get it wrong in the long term. Without a proper setup, businesses risk frozen accounts, lost funds, and irreversible operational delays.
What businesses should do The current rush into Dubai shows the gap between what is theoretically efficient and what is operationally possible. Dubai has many advantages, but even sunshine can burn. If businesses don’t understand how banks and payment providers think, they might be setting up an operation that may never even start to work. Balancing tax advantages with reliable financial access is a delicate process. And without this sensitive dance on the edge, no structure—no matter how promising—can succeed. The world is changing. The rules have changed. So should the business strategy—to a more reliable and scalable payment and banking approach.

We work closely with local legal, compliance, and fund administration partners to ensure a seamless setup process.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Market Trends and Insights Q What hedge fund trends are you seeing in Europe, and how are managers adapting? A lot of hedge fund managers are moving away from the more traditional stock-picking strategies and are trying different approaches like investing in global trends, using data to make faster decisions, or focusing on credit markets. These strategies can behave differently from the stock market, which is helpful when things are uncertain. Investors right now want more stability and less correlation with market swings. That’s where Luxembourg comes in it gives managers an efficient setup to launch these types of hedge funds with confidence.
Looking Ahead Q What are the biggest opportunities and challenges for fund managers in 2025? One of the biggest opportunities right now is in launching niche or alternative hedge fund strategies things that offer investors something different from the usual stock market exposure. There’s also a lot of movement around cross-border investing and using tech like AI to support decision-making. But at the same time, managers are facing tighter regulations, more scrutiny from investors, and rising expectations around transparency and operations. That’s where having the appropriate structure and setup becomes crucial. Especially in places like Luxembourg, where the regulatory environment is strong, having a reliable framework in place makes it easier to focus on your strategy while meeting all the requirements. That’s the kind of foundation we help build at HF Quarters making sure managers are set up efficiently from the start so they can navigate those challenges and grow with confidence.
Global Outlook Q What role is Luxembourg playing in the future of hedge fund domiciliation in Europe? Luxembourg continues to lead due to its deep fund ecosystem, regulatory innovation, and cross-border flexibility. It’s a hub that combines trust, reputation, and practicality. As EU regulations tighten, managers see Luxembourg as a gateway to European investors without sacrificing global scalability.

GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Q How do you see the role of fund platforms evolving in the next few years?
managers who can offer something thoughtful, not just trendy.
Platforms are becoming more flexible. It’s no longer about offering one fixed solution. Fund managers want to choose what fits their strategy, their size, and their investor base. There’s a clear shift toward more modular setups, where managers can scale or adapt without having to start over. It’s something we’ve seen firsthand. This demand for tailored, not templated, support. The future is about giving managers room to grow without locking them into complex systems.
Q What advice would you give to someone who has a solid trading strategy but no experience in fund management?
Q What markets outside of Europe are showing strong interest in launching EU-based funds?
Start by surrounding yourself with the right network. Fund management involves more than trading it includes regulation, compliance, reporting, and investor relations. Fortunately, today there are platforms and support networks that can bridge that knowledge gap and help you stay focused on performance while building everything else around it.
We’ve seen rising interest from the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America. Many managers in these regions are looking for a European footprint to appeal to international investors. The key is helping them navigate the cultural, regulatory, and operational differences which is where our global network becomes incredibly valuable.
Practical Experience and Collaboration Q What advice would you give to a trader or asset manager thinking about launching their own fund? The most important step is to approach the process with clarity and preparation. Having a strong trading track record is a great starting point, but launching a fund involves much more than performance alone. Regulatory obligations, operational setup, and investor expectations all play a significant role. It’s essential to define your investment strategy, target investor base, and long - term objectives early on. Engaging with experienced professionals who understand the fund structuring landscape can help streamline the process and avoid common pitfalls. Ultimately, a well - prepared launch builds the foundation for long-term success.
Trends, Growth, and Investor Relations Q Are there any fund strategies gaining traction in Europe that emerging managers should be paying attention to? Yes, we're seeing growing interest in strategies that offer something different from traditional equity or bond investing. For example, some managers are focusing on macroeconomic themes, while others are looking at credit opportunities or building more systematic, data -driven models. There’s also a continued focus on sustainability, with many funds incorporating ESG-related factors into their approach. What’s important in Europe is a clear and well-structured strategy that shows an understanding of risk and long-term value. Investors are looking for

GC: BRAIN Mastering the Mind: The Science of Visualization and Self-Talk What separates high achievers from the rest? Is it natural talent, access to superior resources, or sheer luck? While these factors contribute to success, research indicates that a more potent, intangible element plays a critical role: cognitive mastery. The world’s most successful individuals—entrepreneurs, elite athletes, and top performers—do not just behave differently; they think differently. They harness two essential cognitive strategies: visualization and self-talk. Far from being mere motivational rhetoric, these scientifically backed techniques enhance performance, boost resilience, and improve overall well-being.
The Neuroscience of Visualization: Programming the Brain for Success
Mechanisms Behind Mental Rehearsal Mental imagery strengthens neural circuits, priming the brain for execution. This is why elite athletes, high-performing executives, and top professionals integrate visualization into their preparation. Beyond enhancing motor skills, visualization also alleviates anxiety and sharpens focus. A study published in Behavioural and Brain Sciences found that individuals who practiced visualization before high-stakes tasks exhibited lower stress levels and improved cognitive efficiency. The mechanism at play is twofold: 1. Cognitive Familiarity – Mentally experiencing success beforehand creates a sense of preparedness, reducing performance anxiety.
Visualization, the practice of mentally rehearsing a goal or success scenario, has been shown to fortify neural pathways, improving real-world performance. Neuroscientific research 2. Neuroplasticity Enhancement – Visualization suggests that vividly imagining an action activates the brain reinforces neural networks associated with a task, making execution more seamless under pressure. in the same way as actually performing it. A groundbreaking study by neuroscientist Dr. Guang Yue at the Cleveland Clinic found that participants who visualized physical exercises experienced a 13.5% increase in muscle strength — without any actual movement. This research highlights the profound impact mental imagery can have on the brain’s ability to enhance performance.
Applying Visualization Beyond Sports While widely embraced in athletics, visualization is equally effective in business, leadership, and personal development. Practical applications include: •
Before a high - stakes presentation : Envision yourself confidently entering the room, delivering key points persuasively, and handling questions adeptly.
•
Prior to tackling a major challenge: Picture yourself navigating obstacles strategically and achieving a successful resolution.
•
Daily goal - setting practice: Spend five minutes each morning visualizing the ideal day to cultivate clarity, motivation, and strategic focus.
The Power of Self - Talk: Shaping Thought Patterns for Peak Performance If visualization is the movie of success, self-talk is its script. The internal dialogue individuals engage in— whether consciously or subconsciously - directly influences mindset, emotions, and outcomes. Research confirms that positive self - talk can significantly boost performance, alleviate stress, and enhance resilience.
P - 43
A 2014 study published in Sports and Exercise Psychology found that athletes who engaged in structured positive self-talk improved their endurance by 18% compared to those who did not. The implications of this research extend beyond sports to virtually every aspect of human performance.
Why Self-Talk Works The language individuals use internally dictates their emotional state, behavioral responses, and overall decision-making. Effective self-talk can: •
•
Reframe challenges as growth opportunities – Instead of "This is too difficult," reinterpret the situation as "This is an opportunity to improve," shifting the brain’s response from stress to problem-solving. Regulate emotions under pressure – Research suggests that positive self - talk modulates neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin, facilitating composure and mental clarity.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
•
Reinforce identity and self - belief – Regular affirmations like "I am disciplined" or "I handle challenges with confidence" solidify self- perception, translating into habitual success-oriented behaviors.
Cultivating Effective Self-Talk To harness the benefits of self-talk, individuals should implement the following strategies: •
Replace negative thoughts with constructive alternatives – Instead of "I always fail at this," shift to "I am continually improving."
•
Use present-tense affirmations – Statements like "I am prepared," "I am in control," and "I add value to this situation" reinforce positive self-perception.
•
Adopt a coaching mindset – Many individuals critique themselves more harshly than they would others. Transforming internal dialogue into a supportive, mentor-like voice fosters confidence and motivation.
Expanding the Applications of Visualization and Self-Talk Beyond personal and professional achievements, visualization and self-talk can significantly impact overall well-being. These mental techniques are particularly effective in stress management, emotional regulation, and even physical health improvements. Studies indicate that patients undergoing medical treatments who visualize recovery and engage in positive self - talk experience better outcomes compared to those who do not. In leadership, self-talk enhances decision-making skills by fostering a mindset of clarity and conviction. Business executives who engage in strategic visualization before negotiations or major business moves demonstrate higher confidence levels and more effective communication strategies. Similarly, educators and coaches who teach these cognitive tools to students and athletes contribute to greater long-term success in their respective fields. Moreover, integrating visualization and self-talk into daily habits does not require significant effort. Short, structured sessions—such as a five-minute morning visualization routine combined with affirmations—can set a powerful mental framework for success throughout the day. Over time, these practices become second nature, reinforcing a cycle of positive thinking and peak performance.
The Mindset of Game Changers Success extends beyond mere skill acquisition—it is rooted in cognitive discipline. The highest achievers in any field deliberately cultivate visualization and self-talk practices to: •
Overcome fear and self-doubt
•
Boost confidence in high-pressure scenarios
•
Maintain long-term focus and resilience
•
Navigate setbacks with a growth-oriented mindset
•
Strengthen overall mental well-being
Game changers do not attribute success to chance. They train their minds with the same rigor as their craft. As scientific research continues to validate these cognitive techniques, the question is no longer whether they work—but whether they are being systematically and consistently applied. For those striving to perform at the highest level, visualization and self-talk are not optional—they are imperative.

The Village Mentality: Why Modern Connection Needs to Change In today's fast-paced digital era, the essence of genuine human connection seems to be fading. While technology offers unprecedented ways to stay in touch, many find themselves feeling more isolated than ever. This paradox raises a crucial question: Are our modern methods of communication truly fulfilling our innate need for connection, or are we just substituting real relationships with fleeting digital interactions? The Village Mentality: A Glimpse into the Past Historically, humans thrived in close - knit communities where everyone knew each other. These "villages" were built on trust, mutual support, and shared experiences. In such settings, relationships were deep and authentic, providing individuals with a strong sense of belonging. Celebrations, challenges, and daily life were communal affairs, fostering bonds that stood the test of time. The village mentality wasn’t just about physical proximity—it was about emotional closeness. People depended on one another, not just for survival but for companionship, wisdom, and guidance. Disputes were settled face-to-face, celebrations were shared with the whole community, and support was readily available during difficult times. Fast forward to today, and we see a stark contrast. While technology has given us access to instant communication, it has simultaneously diluted the depth of our interactions. Have we truly progressed in terms of human connection, or have we lost something invaluable along the way?
The Digital Age: The Rise of Superficial Connections Enter the digital age, where social media platforms and instant messaging have become the primary modes of interaction. While these tools offer
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
convenience, they often promote surface - level engagements. The emphasis on "likes," "followers," and curated online personas can lead to comparisons and feelings of inadequacy. Instead of fostering genuine relationships, these platforms create an illusion of connection, leaving many yearning for more meaningful interactions. On social media, we project carefully curated versions of ourselves—highlight reels rather than reality. We engage in conversations that are fleeting, where a double - tap replaces an actual spoken word. We accumulate hundreds, if not thousands, of connections, but how many of these translate into real, meaningful relationships? This shift is also evident in the way we consume information. The constant influx of bite-sized content makes us less patient and more distracted. Rather than sitting down for in-depth conversations, we opt for quick comments, emojis, and reactions. We may feel like we’re engaging, but in reality, we’re merely skimming the surface of human interaction.
The Paradox of Loneliness in a Hyper Connected World Despite being more "connected" than ever, studies indicate a surge in feelings of loneliness and isolation. Social media can act as a double - edged sword—it connects us virtually but can leave us feeling emotionally disconnected. The lack of face - to - face interactions means missing out on non-verbal cues like body language, tone, and facial expressions, which are vital for understanding and empathy. Over-reliance on digital communication can result in misunderstandings and a diminished sense of community. It’s no wonder that despite being constantly surrounded by digital conversations, many feel lonelier than ever before.
Moreover, the expectation to always be "available" digitally creates additional pressure. Instant messaging has blurred boundaries between personal and professional life, making it harder to disconnect. The fear of missing out (FOMO) compels people to stay glued to their screens, yet ironically, this behavior often leaves them feeling more alone.
Rebuilding Authentic Connections: How to Reclaim the Village Mentality So how do we shift from superficial interactions to meaningful relationships? Here are some strategies to help cultivate a village mentality in a digital world: 1.Prioritize In-Person Interactions Instead of relying solely on digital communication, make an effort to spend quality time with friends and family. Whether it’s a casual coffee meet-up, a group dinner, or a weekend getaway, these moments create deeper connections that digital interactions simply cannot replicate. 2. Be Present in Conversations When engaging with others, minimize distractions. Put away your phone, maintain eye contact, and actively listen. These simple gestures show respect and make conversations more meaningful. Presence fosters genuine connections, something that scrolling through social media cannot provide.
3. Embrace Vulnerability and Authenticity Real connections require more than surface - level interactions. Being open about your struggles, joys, and experiences creates bonds rooted in trust and understanding. Vulnerability fosters intimacy and encourages others to do the same. 4. Engage in Community Activities Being part of a local community or group that shares your interests can create a sense of belonging. Join local clubs, attend neighborhood events, or volunteer—these interactions promote a deeper sense of community. 5. Set Digital Boundaries Limit time spent on social media and prioritize real-world interactions. Consider digital detoxes or setting boundaries for screen time to create space for deeper connections. Social media should supplement relationships, not replace them. 6. Cultivate Small, Meaningful Circles Rather than focusing on accumulating a vast network of acquaintances, invest time in cultivating a small but meaningful circle of close friends. The strength of relationships comes from quality, not quantity.

Embracing Change: A New Path Forward
Creating Our Own Modern Villages
Rethinking our connections in the modern age is essential for our mental and emotional well-being. We need to embrace the village mentality and strive for relationships that go beyond surface - level interactions. By prioritizing authentic connections, we can create a support system that enriches our lives and helps us navigate the ups and downs of life.
The digital age has transformed how we connect, but it’s crucial that we don’t lose sight of what truly matters. The village mentality offers a blueprint for fostering deeper connections and building authentic relationships. Let’s embrace this shift and prioritize quality over quantity in our connections. Because at the end of the day, it’s not the number of followers we have, but the bonds we create that truly enrich our lives.
There is something deeply fulfilling about knowing we have a group of people who truly understand us, who celebrate our victories, and stand by us in difficult times. That’s the essence of the village mentality — it’s not about how many people we know but about the depth of our relationships with them.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
As we navigate this fast-paced digital world, let’s take a step back and ask ourselves: Are we truly connected, or just scrolling through our lives? By fostering deeper, more meaningful relationships, we can cultivate a sense of belonging and create our own modern village—one that is rooted in real human connection.
GC: HOMME The Black Suit: A Man’s Ultimate Style Weapon Some outfits whisper. Others shout. And then there’s the black suit—it doesn’t speak. It simply owns the room. The black suit is to men what the Little Black Dress is to women: timeless, endlessly versatile, and synonymous with effortless cool. It’s the uniform of icons, the chosen armor of the confident, and the go-to for those who understand that true style isn’t about excess—it’s about precision. From Hollywood’s silver screen to the corridors of power, from rock stars to royalty, the black suit has remained untouched by the fleeting whims of fashion.
Power and Presence Black is the color of authority, mystery, and elegance. A black suit isn’t just clothing; it’s a statement. It says, "I’m in control." And in a world obsessed with first impressions, that message matters. From James Bond to high-fashion runways, the black suit symbolizes sophistication and dominance, making it a staple for those who demand attention without saying a word.
The History of the Black Suit The black suit’s roots trace back to the 19th century when men’s formalwear largely consisted of elaborate tailcoats and waistcoats. Enter Beau Brummell, the original dandy, who revolutionized menswear by advocating for minimalism and precise tailoring. His influence laid the groundwork for the modern black suit. By the early 20th century, the black suit had become the ultimate equalizer — worn by businessmen, politicians, and Hollywood legends alike. As designers refined its silhouette, it became a must-have for every man, not just the elite. Today, it remains a core element of menswear, seamlessly adapting to changing fashion trends.
Why Every Man Needs a Black Suit Timeless Appeal Trends fade. The black suit does not. It remains a staple across decades, effortlessly adapting while staying immune to the ever - changing tides of fashion. From the golden age of cinema to modern-day street style, the black suit continues to be the ultimate fashion constant. Unmatched Versatility No other piece in a man’s wardrobe offers the same range. A well-fitted black suit can be strictly formal or effortlessly casual, shifting seamlessly from boardroom to bar, from red carpet to rooftop. It’s the chameleon of menswear. Whether styled with a classic tie or worn with an open-collared shirt, the black suit adapts to the occasion with ease.
P - 49
A good black suit adapts to its surroundings, just like its wearer. Choosing the right fabric ensures it remains appropriate for different settings and seasons.
The Designers Who Perfected the Black Suit Some of the world’s most legendary fashion designers have elevated the black suit into an art form. Here are a few who have defined its evolution: •
Yves Saint Laurent: His revolutionary "Le Smoking" tuxedo blurred the lines between masculinity and femininity, redefining modern power dressing.
•
Giorgio Armani: Known for his relaxed yet powerful tailoring, Armani made the black suit a staple of both Hollywood and corporate boardrooms.
•
Tom Ford: With razor-sharp lapels and an aura of quiet dominance, Ford’s black suits are synonymous with luxury and confidence.
•
Hedi Slimane: His work at Dior Homme and later at Saint Laurent transformed the black suit into a sleek, rockstar uniform.
•
Alexander McQueen: Pushing the boundaries of tailoring, McQueen created avant-garde versions of the black suit that fused tradition with artistic rebellion.
How to Style It
The Art of the Perfect Black Suit
A black suit’s versatility shines in its styling options. Here’s how to make it work for different occasions:
Fit is Everything
•
Formal: Pair with a crisp white shirt, a black tie, and polished Oxfords for a classic, elegant look.
•
Business Casual: A tailored black suit with a turtleneck or a fitted dress shirt—no tie needed—creates a sophisticated yet relaxed aesthetic.
•
Modern Edge: Swap the dress shirt for a black turtleneck and pair with Chelsea boots for a sleek, contemporary vibe.
•
Casual Cool: Ditch the tie, unbutton the top shirt button, and wear it with white sneakers for effortless sophistication.
•
Streetwear-Inspired: Pair with a graphic tee and leather boots for an edgy, fashionforward statement.
A black suit should fit like it was made for you—no excess fabric, no sloppy shoulders, just razor - sharp lines and impeccable proportions. If it’s not tailored to perfection, it’s not worth wearing. Investing in professional tailoring is a must to ensure a sleek and structured silhouette that flatters the body. Fabric Matters •
Wool: For year-round wear. Durable and breathable, wool provides structure and polish.
•
Velvet: For evening drama. Perfect for galas or formal occasions, velvet adds an extra layer of luxury.
•
Linen: For summer nonchalance. Lightweight and breathable, linen suits keep things stylishly cool during warmer months.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
The Right Accessories for a Black Suit Accessories can make or break a look. Here’s how to refine your black suit with the perfect finishing touches: Jewelry •
Watches: A Rolex Submariner for timeless luxury, or a Cartier Tank for refined Parisian elegance.
•
Cufflinks: Silver or black enamel cufflinks add a sophisticated touch.
•
Rings: A simple signet ring or a sleek silver band can enhance the outfit without overpowering it.
•
Bracelets: A thin leather or metal bracelet can add a modern edge without distracting from the suit.
Other Accessories •
Pocket Squares: A white silk pocket square adds a refined touch; a bold color or patterned option adds personality.
•
Ties: A classic black tie for formal occasions, or a textured knit tie for a modern approach.
•
Sunglasses: Aviators for a vintage cool vibe, Wayfarers for a timeless statement.
•
Belts: A sleek black leather belt with a minimal buckle complements the suit’s elegance.
The Suit That Never Fails Fashion is fleeting, but power is permanent. The black suit isn’t just style — it’s status. In a world driven by trends, the black suit remains unmoved. It commands respect and exudes confidence. A man in a black suit is always prepared. Whether it’s a last-minute event, a high-stakes meeting, or a night that could change everything, the black suit is the one thing you can rely on. It has been the uniform of icons, rebels, and power players for over a century— and it shows no signs of fading. If you don’t own one yet, it’s time. Because in a world where style is fleeting, the black suit stands still. And the world moves for it.

GC: FEMME The Timeless Elegance of the Little Black Dress Some fashion pieces are fleeting. Others define an era. And then there’s the Little Black Dress (LBD) — a garment that transcends time, evolving with the decades while remaining the epitome of elegance and sophistication.
The Birth of an Icon: Coco Chanel’s Vision In 1926, Coco Chanel introduced the world to what would become the most versatile and essential piece in a woman’s wardrobe. At a time when elaborate, corseted dresses dominated fashion, Chanel dared to simplify. Her LBD was minimal, chic, and wearable by women from all walks of life. It was a rebellion against excess, a nod to modernity, and a statement that style should be effortless.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
Chanel’s design, published in Vogue, was dubbed the "Ford of fashion"—a reference to the reliability and universality of Henry Ford’s Model T. It was a dress for every woman, promising accessibility, versatility, and timeless elegance. Little did Chanel know, she had just laid the foundation for a fashion revolution.
The Givenchy Era: Hollywood Moment
Audrey Hepburn’s
While Chanel created the concept of the Little Black Dress, it was Hubert de Givenchy who transformed it into a cinematic legend. In 1961, the worldB watched as Audrey Hepburn, portraying Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, stepped onto the streets of New
York in a black satin sheath dress. With oversized sunglasses, pearl earrings, and opera gloves, she wasn’t just wearing a dress—she was defining an era of style. Givenchy’s creation was more than just a piece of clothing; it became the gold standard for understated glamour. The dress was minimalist yet striking, elegant yet effortlessly modern. Hepburn’s look cemented the LBD as the go-to choice for women seeking effortless sophistication.
Why the LBD is the Most Important Dress in Fashion Fashion is cyclical, but the LBD remains untouched by trends. Whether it’s the 1920s, the 1960s, or today, a black dress is never out of style. It’s the piece you reach for when you don’t know what to wear, yet you always know it will look impeccable. Its unparalleled versatility allows it to transition seamlessly from boardrooms to cocktail parties. It can be worn with pearls and stilettos for an evening gala or with ballet flats and a denim jacket for a casual day out. No other garment offers such flexibility.
P - 53
Chanel’s LBD was not just a fashion statement —it was a social one. It represented a woman in control of her own wardrobe, her own choices, and, ultimately, her own identity. Decades later, it continues to symbolize empowerment and self-assurance.
The Designers Who Defined the Little Black Dress Over the years, several legendary designers have reinterpreted and redefined the LBD, each adding their own touch of brilliance. Christian Dior in the 1950s introduced the "New Look," with cinched waists and full skirts, giving the LBD a more structured silhouette. Yves Saint Laurent blurred the lines between menswear and femininity with his famous "Le Smoking" tuxedo dress. Azzedine Alaïa created form - fitting designs that celebrated the female figure, while Alexander McQueen pushed the boundaries with
dramatic cuts and avant-garde elements. Versace added daring slits, sheer panels, and embellishments, proving that the LBD could be bold and audacious while maintaining its classic appeal.
How to Wear the LBD with Elegance The beauty of the Little Black Dress lies in its adaptability. A classic LBD can be worn with pearl earrings, a sleek updo, and black pumps for a timeless and sophisticated evening look. Channeling Hepburn’s elegance from Breakfast at Tiffany’s, one can add opera gloves and a statement clutch for a vintage touch. For a more effortless daytime style, pairing the LBD with ballet flats, oversized sunglasses, and a quilted leather handbag exudes Parisian chic.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
For those seeking a modern edge, a structured blazer and pointed - toe heels transform the LBD into a power statement perfect for a business meeting or networking event. Accessories like sleek gold or silver jewelry add an element of confidence. Meanwhile, a bold belt, ankle boots, and geometric earrings can turn the LBD into a statement piece for a fashion-forward outing. Even in casual settings, the LBD retains its effortless charm. Paired with white sneakers, a denim jacket, and a simple tote bag, it achieves an off-duty, model-inspired aesthetic. Whether styled for glamour or minimalism, the Little Black Dress is the one garment that adjusts to its wearer, never the other way around.
The Only Dress That Matters Fashion may change, but the Little Black Dress remains untouched. It has graced the closets of royalty, revolutionaries, and risk-takers. It has seen candlelit dinners, city lights, art galleries, and underground jazz clubs. It is everything and nothing at the same time—the essence of style, distilled into a single garment. Coco Chanel once said: "A woman is never overdressed or underdressed in a little black dress." Nearly a century later, she is still absolutely right. The LBD is not just another dress; it is a statement of elegance, independence, and timeless style. If you don’t own one yet, darling, it’s time.

GC: EAT Row on 45: A 17-Course Culinary Odyssey You’ll Never Forget There are meals, and then there are MEALS — the kind that don’t just fill you up but take you on a philosophical journey through taste, texture, and the meaning of existence. Row on 45, perched high above Dubai Marina in Grosvenor House, offers the latter. A 17 - course tasting menu created by two-Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton, this is not just fine dining. It’s a full-scale, multi-act production. Dining here is like attending a luxury food opera where every bite is a dramatic high note, the waitstaff are your conductors, and by the end, you may need to be rolled out of the restaurant like a human truffle.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
ACT ONE: “OH, SO WE’RE STARTING AT RIDICULOUSLY HIGH STANDARDS.” The experience begins in an intimate, impossibly elegant dining room. There is no menu—just trust in the chef and your ever - growing curiosity. The first dish arrives: a delicate tuna bone pastry casing so intricate that I briefly consider not eating it out of respect. It looks like something you’d find in an art gallery, yet here I am, ready to consume it like a commoner. Then, Hokkaido scallops appear, their golden sear practically winking at me under the dim lights. They are so perfectly cooked that I briefly hear an angelic choir in the background (or maybe that was just the sound of my own excitement). A dollop of caviar follows, because of course it does.
By the fifth course, I’ve stopped pretending I understand what’s happening. The food is too good, the service is too smooth, and the panoramic view of Dubai Marina at night is making me question all my life choices. I am now convinced that every meal I’ve had up until this point was a tragic mistake. ACT TWO: “THIS IS A MARATHON, NOT A SPRINT.” At this point, I’ve lost count of the dishes, partially because I’m too blissed - out on luxury flavors and partially because I’m afraid that if I check, I’ll realize there’s still a long way to go. Then arrives a consommé infused with 100-year-old balsamic vinegar— because why use regular balsamic when you can use one that existed before the internet? The broth is delicate yet deeply flavorful, the kind of thing that would make a Michelin inspector weep softly into their linen napkin. Another highlight? The miso - marinated duck, which is so tender I suspect it has been emotionally supported through its entire cooking process. The balance of umami and sweetness is so precise that I briefly consider writing Jason Atherton a handwritten thank - you letter. By now, I have moved past hunger and into a higher state of being, where food is no longer fuel but an existential experience. The waitstaff sense my dilemma and reassure me, “You still have room.” I want to believe them. I have no choice but to believe them.
P - 57
ACT THREE: AWAKENING?”
“DESSERT
OR SPIRITUAL
The desserts arrive, and I realize that whatever I expected, Row on 45 has something even more outrageous planned. A yuzu sorbet cleanses the palate with a refreshing burst of citrus—because obviously, we need a reset before launching into the chocolate finale. Then, it happens. The grand dessert course. Chocolate, meticulously plated and combined with flavors so rich, I feel the need to check my bank account mid - bite. There’s something deeply humbling about realizing that you might have peaked in life, and it happened with a single spoonful of dessert. Final Thoughts: Is Row on 45 Worth It? Let’s address the elephant in the room — this is not a casual night out. Row on 45 is an investment in culinary art, a commitment to seeing just how many courses a human can consume before they ascend to another plane of existence.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
The service? Flawless. The atmosphere? Sophisticated enough to make you question your entire wardrobe. The flavors? Beyond comprehension. Would I do it again? Without hesitation. Would I need to mentally, physically, and financially prepare beforehand? Also yes. If you want an unforgettable luxury dining experience that goes beyond just good food—one that truly elevates the very idea of dining — then Row on 45 is your temple. Just make sure to bring an empty stomach, an open mind, and possibly a financial advisor. Final Rating: 17 courses / 17. Because this is not just food. It’s a masterpiece.

GC: GOING OUT Gilt at Burj Al Arab: Where Cocktails and Your Bank Account Go to Die (Happily) There are cocktail bars, and then there’s Gilt—a place so luxurious that even the ice cubes look like they have an offshore bank account. Perched inside the Burj Al Arab, the world’s most unnecessarily extravagant hotel, Gilt is where the financially comfortable, the absurdly wealthy, and the occasional lost tourist all come to sip cocktails that cost more than my first car. Now, you don’t just stumble into Gilt. You plan, budget, and emotionally prepare. The entrance alone is a spectacle — a golden glow reminiscent of what I imagine heaven’s waiting room looks like (except with better lighting and no judgment about your life choices). The bartender greets us with a knowing smirk, possibly sensing that we are here for the full experience — and possibly also sensing my inner turmoil about whether to mortgage my belongings for a second round.
GAME CHANGERS Issue #52
First Round: The Cocktail That Could Fund a Small Startup The menu is a mix of alchemy, science, and sheer audacity. Every drink sounds like a Bond villain’s password — names like "Eclipse Elixir" and "Celestial Obsession" — designed to make you feel like an intergalactic mogul. I order something called "Golden Hour," because if I’m going to drop an entire week’s grocery budget on one drink, it might as well sound fancy. The drink arrives in a glass that looks like it was forged by ancient gods, with an actual gold leaf floating on top—a little reminder that this isn’t just a cocktail, it’s an investment. I take a sip. My life flashes before my eyes. It is perfect —smooth, rich, with a delicate citrus hit that makes me feel like I suddenly understand high finance.
Across the table, my companion orders a Negroni. Not just any Negroni. This one has been aged in a barrel that I suspect has a more impressive passport than I do. He takes a sip and suddenly looks like a man who understands stock markets and has opinions on fine art.
The Crowd: Old Money, New Money, and People Pretending to Have Money Gilt is not the kind of place where you’ll see groups of lads downing pints while arguing about football. Here, people whisper about hedge funds, sign non - disclosure agreements mid - conversation, and occasionally, a mysterious figure in a Tom Ford suit exits through a hidden VIP door. This is a playground for the elite, and for one evening, we are graciously allowed to observe, provided we behave and don’t spill anything.
At the next table, a man in a watch so large it might have its own zip code swirls his drink in a way that suggests he owns several yachts, possibly parked nearby. A woman in an emerald gown, dripping in understated wealth, elegantly sips on a cocktail with a name so pretentious, I forget how to pronounce it. She hasn’t looked at the menu once—either she’s been here before, or she has staff who read it for her.
Round Two: The Financially Irresponsible Decision By this point, we are settled in, thriving, and ready to throw caution (and disposable income) to the wind. The bartender, sensing weakness, suggests The Emperor’s Elixir — a cocktail infused with truffle essence and a liquor aged so long it probably had a midlife crisis. My better judgment tells me to say no, but my curiosity and misplaced sense of financial stability say yes, absolutely.

The drink arrives in a glass so elegant, I instinctively sit up straighter. The first sip is an out - of - body experience — rich, complex, with subtle layers of regret because I just spent enough to buy a roundtrip flight to Europe. But, as the gold-rimmed glass clinks against my companion’s, I remind myself: this is not just a drink. This is a moment.
Final Thoughts: Worth It? Absolutely. Would I Come Back? After Recovering Financially. Gilt at the Burj Al Arab is not just a bar — it’s an experience, a statement, a test of your ability to act normal around people who casually invest in rare art pieces. The cocktails are crafted with

absurd precision, the service is so impeccable you start to wonder if the waitstaff have been trained by a secret elite hospitality academy, and the ambiance is peak Dubai luxury—gold, glamour, and just the right amount of intimidation. Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I come back next week? Not unless I find a way to make passive income in my sleep. But one thing is certain — Gilt isn’t just about the drinks. It’s about stepping into a world where wealth is effortless, cocktails are masterpieces, and for one brief, shimmering moment, you truly believe you belong. Final Rating: 5 out of 5 private offshore accounts.
