Cover Story

GALLERY jENSEITS: Beyond the Expected

Tucked into the heart of Mt. Adams, GALLERY jENSEITS is a contemporary art gallery and community gathering space dedicated to the celebrated and the undiscovered, the beautiful and the bizarre, the familiar and the unexpected. More than a place to simply view art, the gallery invites visitors to slow down, look closer, and engage with creativity in all its forms.

The name jenseits, meaning “beyond,” reflects the gallery’s philosophy of looking past convention and embracing the unknown. Here, emerging artists share walls with established names, creating an ever evolving conversation that encourages curiosity and discovery.

At a time when nearly everything is expected to serve a practical purpose, GALLERY jENSEITS embraces the idea that art does not need to justify itself through utility. A painting may not build a bridge, and a sculpture may

not solve a problem, but they have the power to inspire, challenge, comfort, and connect us. In that sense, art’s greatest value may lie in the way it enriches our lives rather than our to-do lists.

Through thoughtfully curated exhibitions and cultural events, the gallery has become a welcoming destination for collectors, artists, neighbors, and first time visitors alike. Whether stopping in for a few quiet moments or spending an evening in conversation, guests are invited to experience contemporary art as something living, accessible, and deeply human.

FORM

FORM was created as a natural extension of Idlewild—born from the same point of view, but designed to explore a different side of the story. Together, the two stores are in conversation: while Idlewild continues to ground itself in timeless wardrobe staples, FORMhighlights the artful side of fashion and lifestyle — a showroom for clothing, shoes, and objects that invite curiosity. FORM is a space to try things on — literally and conceptually. These spaces share a foundation, but speak in slightly different tones — each enriching the other.”

Tessa Clark is the co-owner of Idlewild and Form, a curated clothing store in Cincinnati, Ohio, known for its timeless and creative approach to fashion. With a sharp eye for design and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, Tessa first gained national recognition as

a contestant on Season 17 of Project Runway on Bravo. Her background in fashion design and retail has shaped her approach to styling, curating, and fostering a community around high-quality, distinctive pieces. At Idlewild, she brings her passion for thoughtful design together with a commitment to personal styling and exceptional client experiences.
