Kataibu Autism School Kata /ka·ta/ (n): said; talk Ibu (n): woman who gave birth to someone; mother Kataibu means “as mother said”, inspired by the story of an autistic child who is always loved by his mother Autism is a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact, also affects the senses. Often, they distracted by environmental conditions that could not be controlled by them. This proposal aimed to accommodate autism needs for a comfortable space to learn. Carried the idea of “Manmade and Nature as teacher and caretaker.”, The design utilizes natural existence to provide a serene atmosphere with a built environment that provides preserved exploration freedom so as to provide focus and a sense of control for autistic children while learning.

Arus Waktu A proposal for Jayaboard exhibition booth in the context of IndoBuildTech’s annual event carrying the theme of digital city. By this booth, Jayaboard wants to celebrate 26 years of innovation in Indonesia. This booth is divided into four sections arranged like a whirlpool which sequencing the story of Jayaboard’s journey. This booth depicts a house with an outdoor space abstracted by the laying of vegetation while the walls use Jayaboard products covered in white nuances and the company’s signature green accents. The exhibition is arranged around the main interior space which used as the main exhibition area for the guest architect.

Bird House Corridor The project is located in Nansha Bird Park, the one of the most famous bird sightseeing park in Guangzhou, China. As a response, this proposal seeks to enhance the reciprocal relationship between the site, the bird, and the user in the corridor. The corridor will acts as an interacting place for the bird and the user by providing birdhouses, bird feeders, and a passageway equipped with resting trestlework for the user. The shape of the corridor is a biomorphic abstraction of bird structural motion by adapting birds balancing system, using bamboo as its main material.

Sea-Nomad A proposal for the new tourist information center in Lombok Island. Lombok is famous for its exotic island tourist destinations. The design is inspired by the native tribe living in the vicinity, the Bajau or famously called the sea nomad, which moves by sailing along the seas of Indonesia to the Phillippines. This design makes an analogy of a boat or a ship which is considered as a home by the Bajau tribe. Each walled space is arranged in the middle creating a surrounding circulation like the deck of a ship, while the roof resembles the shape of an overturned ship.

Armenian Museum “I can hardly understand the importance given to the word research in connection with modern painting. In my opinion to search means nothing in painting. To find, is the thing.” – Pablo Picasso Based on the owner’s request to renovate and adding several spaces to the existed museum, the submitted proposal suggests preserving the sense of place by inputting minimum intervention. The intervention was in the form of adding a new mass that was oriented towards the city axis and reversing the existing circulation flow, the basement is modified into an open public space named “communal ground” in conjunction with the commercial area while the main exhibition hall remains located at the same level with rearranged sequences.

Kiputih House Kiputih House is a small minimalist tropical modern style house on a 36 square-meter parcel located on Kiputih Street, Bandung. Kiputih House is designed for a young family with one main bedroom adjoining the child’s bedroom in a two stories house. The house is strategically located at a point close to health and education facilities. The house implementing a bio-evaporation system to reduce the room temperature, supported by a cross-ventilation system through the house with a plant grid on the main façade. Thus, this design is expected to provide comfort and reliability to enhance the living quality even though it has limited space.
