ADVICE: Read to someone out loud, ask what they remember, what they felt were the most powerful parts. Just that. No preasure to be NYT top critic of the year or anything.
Sometimes we try to be editors before being writers but no, to edit you must have something to edit on, so first write, and then correct. (It is like a sculpture, you need that huge block of marvel to work. You cannot sculpt anything over thin air.
Videos for the class: Taste. Do not stop. Making a point not through ideas but through small pictures of reality. An overview perspective, seeing the big picture of things changes everything.
