Welcome 2026!

This is the first Parts Magazine issue of 2026, so a “Happy New Year” greeting would normally be in order. But all that seems to be pretty well over by now. We alternate throughout the annual calendar with a Drag Specialties title and that issue was out in January. So now, as I write this, here we are in February, and the season is off and running, both in racing and on business side.

In this issue, you’ll find a report on the recent AIMExpo at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California. Parts Unlimited was an exhibitor there, as were numerous Parts Unlimited vendors. That show was held the same weekend, almost walking distance away over at Anaheim Stadium, where the opening round of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Championship was held.

As many of you know, THOR and Parts Unlimited are long time sponsors of the Star Racing Yamaha team and it was great to see their rider Max Anstie grab a 250 class win at the season opener. Also, don’t miss our story about future champions at THOR’s Mini Os races in Florida over Thanksgiving weekend. It was THOR’s 54th running of the event which drew over 6,000 entries.

For those of you who follow off-road racing, you probably watched the grueling and historic Dakar Rally in the opening two weeks of the new year. Even though he didn’t lead the motorcycle class the whole way, American rider Ricky Brabek seemed to have everything under control for a third Dakar victory aboard his Monster Energy Honda. Ricky led much of the way in the late going, but on the final day a navigation error added costly seconds to his overall elapsed time. This allowed Red Bull KTM rider Luciano Benavides from Argentina to steal the overall motorcycle victory away from Brabek by a mere 2 seconds after both had raced through the dirt roads and sand dunes for almost 5,000-miles!

The Dakar Rally is a tremendous test of every part on the machines and the gear used by the riders. While KTM was the brand of motorcycle Benavides rode to victory, it was great to see many products carried by Parts Unlimited also along for the ride. He wore a 6D helmet, 100% goggles and Alpinestars boots and gear, ran Michelin tires and Motorex oil, among many products found in the Part Unlimited catalogs. Our congratulations to Luciano Benavides and also runner up Ricky Brabek for turning the motorcycle sport’s most challenging long distance off-road event into a sprint race. ■

Ride Safe!

NEWS EVENTS AND Build. Train. Revolutionize

THE ROYAL ENFIELD BTR STARTS SIXTH YEAR AS A FAN FAVORITE

It began in 2020 with a revolutionary idea from one of the oldest brands in motorcycling. Royal Enfield introduced the Build.Train.Race program, teaching women to build and race their own motorcycles, and what began as a small four-rider exhibition has evolved into a series within a series in both MotoAmerica and American Flat Track.

For 2026, the series enters its sixth season, and with sustained support from Parts Unlimited, Royal Enfield BTR continues to be a showcase for accessibility and a rising platform for women in racing. Racing kicks off April 17th-19th at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia.

“Build.Train.Race has been awesome for the Royal Enfield brand,” says Adrian Sellers, Head – Custom & Motorsport at Royal Enfield. “It’s a fresh take on the brand, and on racing. To see the women ripping around the track, many of them with minimal racing experience, and see them having such an amazing time, the visuals speak for themselves.”

Back in 2022, rider Jaycee Jones (#33) leads Malary Lee (#6) and Lanakila MacNaughton (#88) into a turn at Weedsport Speedway at Round 3 of the series. Photo courtesy of Royal Enfield

For a brand that built its reputation on approachable motorcycles, and having no real racing pedigree to stand on, national championship racing seems like the last place you’d expect to find a brand like Royal Enfield. Its modern classic 650cc air-cooled motorcycles are a significant departure from the advanced technology you’ll find on the grid, but it’s in this irony that you’ll find BTR’s counterculture edge, an unapologetic reminder that racing is something everyone can enjoy.

“That’s ultimately the goal here,” said Sellers. “We know we don’t make top-performance racing motorcycles. That’s not what we do or who we are. But what we do very well is make accessible motorcycles for people to get on and have an amazing experience.”

That’s not to say that the program doesn’t aspire to fostering true race talent. Women selected to the BTR program are offered a two-year contract. They are given mechanical guidance from professional mechanics during the build process, and trained throughout the racing season.

Flat Track racers receive coaching from Johnny Lewis of the Moto Anatomy X Royal Enfield race team. On the MotoAmerica side, BTR riders have been under the tutelage of three-time World Champion Freddie Spencer since 2023.

Build.Train.Race has already seen the rise of Mikayla Moore, breakout star of the BTR Road Racing program who went virtually undefeated in her back-to-back championships. The champions of 2025 include Taia Little on the Flat Track side and Kira Knebel in Road Racing.

“Our dream is seeing that next MotoAmerica racer or next American Flat Track pro out there having started in BTR,” said Sellers. “That would be a dream come true. And we know that won’t be on one of our motorcycles. But that’s a win for our brand.”

During the 2025 MotoAmerica BTR series, Kira Knebel was the standout, taking six wins from eight races. While Knebel proved to be a dominant force on the track, she was faced with technical challenges, and a spectacular wreck at Road America that threatened to derail her season. In the end, she was able to persevere, calling it “an emotional rollercoaster. I just knew I had to give it every ounce of my being. The pride I feel for my teammates and their victories, the love in my heart for our managers and fans, there is nothing like this.”

The two remaining BTR road race wins of the season went to Miranda Cain and Camille Conrad. Cain ended up second in the championship, edging out consistent podium finisher Shea MacGregor for runner-up honors.

On the Flat Track side, the fight was much tighter as five wins were spread across the top-three: Taia Little, Madicela Rodriguez and Emma Gottsch. While Gottsch consistently led qualifying and lap times, it was Taia Little who edged out Gottsch for the championship. Rodriguez finished third in the series, having two wins to her credit.

Parts Unlimited and its family of brands have proudly sponsored Royal Enfield BTR since its inception, and continue to provide generous support to the program. “It’s the unique nature of BTR and the grassroots passion behind it that makes Parts Unlimited so eager to support Build.Train.Race,” said Paul Langley, Chairman/CEO, LeMans Corporation. “Watching fans’ reactions to these women racers out on the track, and seeing programs like this opening doors, fostering talent and fueling the passion of motorcycle racing is what makes it all worthwhile.”

What’s next for this series on the rise? Sellers hinted at international growth. For the 2025 season, BTR expanded its road race applications to women in Brazil, and Royal Enfield may follow suit with more countries in the future. “We do hope to open it up to other countries in the future, but we’re taking it step-bystep so we don’t spread ourselves too thin. It’s a lot of moving parts to run two race series, and this is why we’re so grateful to the support of our sponsors like Parts Unlimited. We’re looking forward to seeing what comes next.” ■

NEWS EVENTS AND 2026 Daytona 200 Winner to Pocket $50,000

STORIED RACE WILL FEATURE POINTS, $250,000 PURSE

Daytona International Speedway and MotoAmerica have joined forces to elevate the 2026 Daytona 200, making it one of the richest motorcycle races in the event’s storied history. With a total purse of $250,000 – a 43 percent increase over last year – the 84th running of the “Great American Motorcycle Race” in March will offer a $50,000 payday to the winner.

The top three finishers will earn a collective $100,000, with $50,000 awarded for first, $30,000 for second, and $20,000 for third. Purse money will be paid through 30th position, with riders finishing 21st through 30th each receiving $2,500, ensuring a deep and meaningful payout structure throughout the field.

Adding to the significance of the event, the 2026 Daytona 200 will be the first running since 2014 to pay AMA National Championship points, further elevating the race’s prestige and competitive importance.

Dunlop has also expanded its support, with MotoAmerica’s spec-tire partner supplying MotoAmerica Premier entries with 10 tires per rider. Additionally, Daytona International Speedway will cover the Dunlop tire bill for the first international finisher in the Daytona 200.

“The Daytona 200 has always been one of the most prestigious motorcycle races in the world, and with the increase in purse to $250,000 the importance of the race just took another step forward,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne

Rainey. “This year our fans will see some of the best racers and teams in the world battling for the $50,000 winner’s check with the additional incentive of earning valuable MotoAmerica championship points.”

Continuing a long-standing tradition, the winner of the 84th Daytona 200 will also receive the coveted Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watch.

“By significantly increasing the purse and the return of AMA National Championship points, we’re making a clear statement about how much this race matters,” said Frank Kelleher, President of Daytona International Speedway. “The Daytona 200 deserves to be a race that rewards excellence, attracts the very best riders in the world, and carries real weight for everyone who lines up on the grid.”

Additional prize money will be awarded prior to race day, as MotoAmerica will host the fifth annual Pit Stop Challenge at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, March 5. The Pit Stop Challenge features the top Daytona 200 teams competing to determine which crew can execute the fastest pit stop.

Recent Daytona 200 winners will also continue the modern tradition of participating in the Daytona Champions Program during DAYTONA 500 weekend. Winners from several premier motorsports events – including the Rolex 24 At Daytona, DAYTONA Supercross, American Flat Track and Mission King of the Baggers – take part in VIP experiences and media opportunities surrounding “The Great American Race.” ■

AMA SUPERCROSS PREVIEW 2026 IT’S TIME TO GO RACING!

It’s a new year, and with it comes a new season of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, which also serves as the first series where riders earn points toward the SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship.

Parts Unlimited/THOR supports the sport at all levels, from the 450 Supercross premier class to the 250 Supercross regional classes and even riders competing in the SuperMotocross Next (SMX Next) class. Veteran favorites and rising newcomers alike spent the off-season training and testing. The bikes are ready, the riders are ready and the fans are filling the grandstands because it’s time to go racing.

450 SUPERCROSS RIDERS:

450 Supercross, the premier class, is stacked with the best riders in the world. Former world champions, 250cc Supercross regional champions and multi-time 450SX winners all line up each weekend. Winning even a single main event in this class earns a permanent place in Supercross history.

Aaron Plessinger #7, Red Bull KTM: Plessinger (AP7) is a former 250 AMA Pro Motocross Champion with eight career AMA Pro Motocross Championship 250 wins and two career Supercross Championship 450 victories. A fan favorite, AP7 is known for his holeshots, all-out riding style, cowboy hat and energetic podium interviews. He has podium finishes across a wide range of Supercross tracks and conditions and is widely regarded as one of the best mud racers in the series.

Despite his limitless energy, Plessinger was forced to withdraw from the SMX Playoffs last year after a mysterious illness drained his strength late in the Pro Motocross season. He returned for 2026 with his trademark smile, saying his vitals have improved. He says he feels close to 100 percent and is happy to be back on the KTM and ready to race.

The opening rounds delivered both good and bad luck. At Anaheim 1, Plessinger grabbed the holeshot in his heat race

before being taken down by Cooper Webb a few turns later, injuring his right arm and sending him to the LCQ, which he won. Historically, AP7 gains momentum as the season progresses and begins landing podiums by mid-season. If conditions turn muddy, he is always a threat for the overall win.

250CC SUPERCROSS RIDERS:

250cc Supercross is divided into East and West regions, crowning two champions each season. Riders compete within their region and also face off during select East/West Shootouts. Winning a 250cc Supercross East or West Championship cements a rider’s place among the best in the class.

250cc Supercross West – Max Anstie #61, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing: Born April 25, 1993, in Newbury, England, Anstie is one of the oldest competitors in the 250cc class. He owns four career 250cc Supercross regional main event wins, including the 2026 season opener. That victory made Anstie the oldest winner in SMX small-displacement history at 32 years, 8 months and 16 days.

After winning his heat race, Anstie capitalized on a strong start to take the lead early and sprint away for a commanding 7.5-second win in round one. In round two, he again won his heat and led the main until contact with Haiden Deegan sent him to the ground. Anstie remounted quickly and charged back to a fifth-place finish. As of this writing, he sits second in the 250cc Supercross West points chase and remains a strong title contender.

250cc Supercross West – Michael Mosiman #23, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing: Mosiman owns multiple 250 class podiums and is on track for his first 250cc regional victory in 2026. Healthy and riding strong, he earned a third-place finish in the San Diego main event.

MAX ANSTIE Align Media photo
MICHAEL MOSIMAN Align Media photo

250cc Supercross East – Nate Thrasher #25, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing: A proven veteran, Thrasher has three career 250cc Supercross West wins and two 250cc Supercross East wins. Riding for one of the sport’s top teams, he enters 2026 as a legitimate championship contender.

250cc Supercross East – Pierce Brown #163, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing: Brown finished third in points in the 2024 SuperMotocross 250 World Championship. He owns one 250SMX victory and two 250cc Supercross East podiums. If he remains healthy, Brown should be a frontrunner in the East.

250cc Supercross East – Cole Davies #37, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing: Davies graduated from the Supercross Futures program, now SMX Next, where he won two main events. He broke out in the 2025 250cc Supercross West season, earning multiple fast qualifying times, heat race wins, and a main event victory before finishing third in the championship standings. With his speed and preparation, Davies could be a major force in 2026.

250cc Supercross West – Carson Mumford #71, AEO KTM Powersports Racing: Qualifying for a Supercross main event places a rider among the top 22 in the world. Mumford has done that consistently, earning two career 250cc Supercross West top-five finishes and 14 career AMA Pro Motocross 250 top-10s.

250cc Supercross West – Avery Long #57, AEO KTM Powersports Racing: Long is focused on making the main event every weekend and already accomplished that goal in San Diego. Respect.

250cc Supercross West – Kyle Wise #378, AEO KTM Powersports Racing: Wise turned pro in 2024 and primarily competed in the 250MX Nationals, logging 16 career starts. He adds 250cc Supercross West experience to his resume in 2026.

250cc Supercross East – Cullin Park #49, Phoenix Honda: Park already owns a 250cc Supercross East podium, several top-five finishes and the 2022 AMA 250cc Supercross

Rookie of the Year award. He looks forward to building on that momentum with more podiums and wins.

250cc Supercross East – Evan Ferry #751, Phoenix

Honda: The son of former pro Tim Ferry, Evan Ferry is new to the professional ranks. He already has two SMX Futures top-10 finishes and 10 AMA Pro Motocross 250 starts.

250cc Supercross East – Gavin Towers #73, Phoenix

Honda: A veteran of multiple 250cc Supercross seasons, Towers brings experience and developing speed into the 2026 campaign.

SMX NEXT RIDERS:

SMX Next is far more than a halftime attraction. It is a proving ground for elite amateur riders preparing for full-time professional careers, giving them experience on the same demanding tracks ridden by the sport’s top pros.

SMX Next – Kayden Minear #99, Monster Energy Yamaha

Star Racing: Minear is the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship SMX Next Champion and aims to build on that success with more wins in 2026.

SMX Next – Landen Gordon #180, Monster Energy

Yamaha Star Racing: The 2025 SMX Next runner-up, Gordon enters the season with his sights set on the championship.

SMX Next – Carson Wood #260, Monster Energy Yamaha

Star Racing: Wood is a former Loretta Lynn Amateur National Champion and Supermini World All-Star Champion and is ready to make his mark in SMX Next.

SMX Next – Caden Dudney #82, Monster Energy Yamaha

Star Racing: Dudney brings six Loretta Lynn Amateur National titles, an Amateur Rider of the Year award, and an Oakley Award for fastest lap. He is unquestionably one to watch. ■

AIM EXPO 2026 SNAPSHOT!

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA – JANUARY 7-9

The 2026 AIMExpo rolled into the Anaheim Convention Center in early January in Anaheim, California and the LeMans Corporation was on hand with large, welloutfitted booths for Parts Unlimited and its sister company Drag Specialties. The setup gave dealers, vendors and industry partners a central place to connect and do business throughout the show.

Beyond the LeMans presence, many of the brands distributed through Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties also had booths across the event, reinforcing the depth and reach of the companies’ aftermarket offerings. Several OEMs also used AIMExpo as a stage to unveil new and updated models, giving dealers and media an early look at upcoming releases.

One of the more talked-about features of the trade-only event took place in the Drag Specialties booth, where a team from Drag dealer Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson built a Bagger Racing League bike live on the show floor. The build was completed with components readily available through the Drag Specialties FatBook, tying the build back to real-world inventory and sales opportunities. The live build offered a hands-on look at the parts, process and performance focus behind modern Bagger racing and consistently drew attention throughout the event.

Beyond the machines, parts, products, apparel and accessories on display, AIMExpo also featured a full program of educational seminars. These sessions were designed to help dealers improve and streamline their businesses, explore emerging trends in the powersports space, and gain insight into shifting consumer behavior.

Here’s a pictorial of the sights of the 2026 AIMExpo.

THOR MINI O’S: YOU CAN’T TEACH HEART

A DRAMATIC END TO THE AMATEUR NATIONAL RACING SEASON

It’s where new talent is fostered and champions are born. It’s where aspiring Supercross and motocross racers come to showcase their best, and it’s where teams and sponsors come to scout the hottest new pro prospects. All of them taking the chance to grow, learn and experience the dramatic highs and unpredictable lows of this challenging sport.

As the final stop in the amateur national racing season, the week-long motocross holiday known as the THOR Mini O’s holds a significant place on the calendar for many.

“Mini O’s is always a unique event, especially being held during Thanksgiving week,” said THOR Rider Support Coordinator Evan Valicenti. “It brings together riders, families, and teams from across the industry and creates a great overall vibe at the track.”

The 2025 event at the end of November at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, Florida, marked the 54th running of the THOR Mini O’s, drawing an astounding 6,128 entries across seven days of racing. The exclusive feature of the Mini O’s is that the format includes Supercross racing, with overall points from both Supercross and motocross combined to award an elite Olympiad title.

“From a results standpoint, we saw a mix of strong performances and learning moments from our THORsponsored athletes. But several racers really stood out throughout the week,” said Valicenti.

Among the standouts was Rivers Rice. The Cobra rider throttled his way to two runner-up finishes in 51cc (4-6) Limited, one in Supercross and one in motocross. “Riv Dawg” had to charge his way from dead last to second in one of his motos, but the THOR athlete showcased a tremendous amount of grit as he charged through the field.

BRENNON HARRISON

“He showed what a 7-year-old’s mindset is capable of, putting every single ounce of his heart out there on that track,” read the team statement. “We’re so grateful for all the support and success and can’t wait to see what amazing things 2026 has in store for us.”

Another young star, 8-year-old Robert Fender, flexed some muscle in the ultra-competitive 51cc ranks. “Fender the Sender” ended up with a prestigious silver Olympiad medal for his combined efforts in 51cc (4-8) Limited Supercross and motocross. “So much learned, so much accomplished, and even more to chase,” read the Instagram statement from his team. “One step closer to where I’m going. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible!”

THOR-backed racers such as Brock Norris understand the importance of setting goals with each step of the journey as racers ascend the ranks, moving their way to bigger bikes and all-new platforms every few years. “I set one goal for myself coming into this last week,” said Norris. “I wanted to trophy in all my 50 classes.” Norris pulled off top-five finishes in the 51cc (4-8) Limited motocross and Supercross classes for a consistent performance at Mini O’s. “Not all my rides were smooth but I kept pushing and I’m extremely proud of myself,” said Norris. “Huge thank you to everyone who made this possible.”

Carson Wood was a somewhat unexpected star of the Pro Sport ranks. The Star Racing Yamaha rider had planned to contest only the Supercross events, but made a last-minute decision to race the motocross Pro Sport classes, as well. Wood came away with the 250 Pro Sport motocross overall win, and a 450 Pro Sport motocross moto win after some battles with seasoned pro rider Mikkel Haarup.

“Less than a week before we came, I decided I wanted to race outdoors also,” Wood explained. “With only three days of outdoor prep, we signed up. I hadn’t done 20-minute motos in months, but I knew I’d fight until the checkered flag no matter what.”

That’s exactly what Wood did in all four motocross motos, setting the quickest lap times in some outings.

An unfortunate crash in the second 450 Pro Sport motocross moto cost Wood the overall, but he showed true determination as he got up from the hard get-off, and soldiered on to salvage 17th place. It was enough to earn him a hard-fought seventh overall, and most importantly showed that he won’t give up easily.

There were more ups and downs experienced by the brightest THOR stars at Mini O’s, including Brennon Harrison who spent some time on the overall podium. Harrison was an impressive second in the 250B Supercross, and also carded a fourth-place finish in 250B motocross.

Joining Harrison in the 250B Supercross battle was 15-yearold Wyatt Thurman. The OB KTM Elite racer finished fifth place in a stacked class.

In the 450B Limited Supercross ranks, Chase Andersen of Alaska added to his already impressive reputation at Mini O’s. The Yamaha rider nabbed a fourth-place finish, and despite the respectable performance, admitted it was “not quite where we want to be. It was a fun one, lots of positives to take away. I’ll be back on top soon. Until then, only up.”

In the 450B ranks, Trinnytie Batchelor rode his Kawasaki to a podium in Supercross, and a top-five in motocross. “It was a very up and down week but I’m happy with what we accomplished in the end,” Batchelor said. “We learned a lot about the new bike and we’re ready to keep building for the future. Thank you to everyone for all the support!” ■

Sportmode Geo offers timeless moto design with clean lines and symmetrical design that will serve great looks on the bike for seasons to come.

Of course, customers grabbing new sets of Sportmode pants and jerseys can pair them with a fresh set of Iconic gloves available in several new colors and designs for the mid-season release. Sportmode Iconic gloves include Aqua/Powder Blue, Acid/Purple and Black/Copper color combos, each delivering maximum feel so riders remain in control. Additional Sportmode gloves coming in mid-season takes us to the ever-exclusive nature of limited edition drops, and those drops are coming from Sportmode.

The first limited edition (LE) kit is Sportmode Recon in two colorways: Black/Acid and White/Blue. Modern camo design combined with solid colors and modern branding makes Recon kits a natural fit you can picture lining up behind a Supercross gate. ■

Tire’s Championship Debut

When Simon Längenfelder clinched the 2025 FIM MX2 World Championship aboard his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine, he did it on the all-new Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire. That victory marked Pirelli’s 83rd World Title and signaled a dominant debut for a tire engineered from the ground up for competition at the highest level.

Längenfelder wasn’t alone. Teammate Andrea Adamo capped off an impressive season at the MXGP of Australia by claiming third overall, delivering a double podium for Pirelli in MX2. In the premier MXGP class, Lucas Coenen fought hard to take second in the championship, while Glenn Coldenhoff finished third overall. Four riders in the top three across both classes –on the same tire.

and durability. The result is increased traction that gives motocross riders a decisive advantage in holeshots and fast corner exits.

Mid-soft to hard terrain is the ideal playground for the Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire. The tire’s blocks provide braking and cornering stability on that terrain, while feedback from pro racers helped with refining the tread pattern and compound.

Stateside, the tire proved equally dominant in its debut season. Among the pros who trusted the Scorpion range of tires were RM Red Bear Kawasaki’s Nick DeFeo, Rachel Archer, and Stew Baylor.

Baylor brought home the NEPG Pro 1 championship, while DeFeo claimed the Pro 2 title and Archer finished second in the WXC championship. The Scorpion range of tires helped the RM

“When you develop a tire directly on the world championship stage, you’re not just testing, you’re proving,” said Oscar Solis, Senior Motorcycle Racing Manager, Pirelli. “Every podium validates the engineering, and every title reinforces why Pirelli has been a dominant force in offroad competition since 1980.”

The Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid Soft tire is part of Pirelli’s comprehensive lineup of off-road tires. Engineered for top-level motocross competition, the front tire delivers improved braking performance and cornering capability compared to its predecessor. This is achieved through a new sidewall compound that enhances feel and handling. At the rear, a new tread compound was developed to improve wear consistency, ensuring reliable performance

“From world championship podiums to national titles here in the U.S., the all-new MX32 Mid Soft proved itself across varying terrain and disciplines,” said Joseph Lee, Marketing Manager, Pirelli. “That’s exactly what we engineered it to do, and we can’t wait for more riders to experience that championship-winning performance firsthand.

Pirelli’s motto is “We sell what we race, and we race what we sell,” and that has remained true with the MX32 Mid Soft tire. ■

Sure Footing Titanium Footpegs for Adventure Confidence

The Adventure segment continues to bring us innovative new products designed for rugged durability, light weight and ease of riding. All those qualities can be found in the new titanium Adventure footpeg set from Akrapovič.

Although the Akrapovič name is one typically related to exhausts, the company has a range of other products, all made with the same meticulous engineering and carefully selected materials that go into producing Akrapovič exhausts.

The Adventure footpegs are cast at Akrapovič’s in-house foundry in Slovenia using Grade 5 titanium. This particular titanium was chosen because it offers high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, all while weighing significantly less than stainless steel pegs. These footpegs must be strong and durable enough for the rigors of Adventure riding, while also making the journey easier for the rider. That means a blend of stability, grip and comfort are absolutely necessary.

The one-piece Adventure footpegs were designed from the ground up, and they feature a unique octagonal design coupled with a Y-shaped reinforcement. This design helps maintain strength while also cutting down on weight.

The central teeth and wide surface area give feet plenty of space and maximum grip. This makes controlling an Adventure bike easier, especially when riding standing up. This style of footpeg helps riders stay balanced and maintain control and traction.

To further ease rider comfort, each set of footpegs comes equipped with a pair of rubber pads to help reduce vibrations during riding. This feature is a small but significant one

for comfort on the road. Fitting the pads does not require any tools, ensuring easy installation.

for Teaching the Next Generation

Head to the Team Empire channel on YouTube, and you might notice that Ernie Vigil and Nick Brocha are doing things a little differently these days. Sure, there are still plenty of epic stunt videos, but there’s also content to help entry-level riders learn the sport. One thing that hasn’t changed is that Vigil is still riding on Avon Tyres.

As Vigil explains it, the instructional videos are helping bridge the gap to the next generation of riders. “If your father rode, he’d pass it to his children, but there was a time when kids didn’t want to do that,” Vigil says. “They wanted to play video games. Now, they’re in their 20s and want to ride, but don’t know how.”

Enter Team Empire, with videos covering topics like how to set up a bike and tips for choosing the right set of tires. Vigil says, “We’ve structured our program so the videos are larger than life, but at the same time, we’re trying to fill in the blanks of having a database of things we run and why we believe in them.”

That belief part makes a big difference. As Vigil points out, many social-media influencers out there are quick to jump from one brand to another, making brand loyalty and a true knowledge of the product more valuable than ever.

Vigil has been an Avon Tyres *rider since 2008. “We’ve had a hand in R&D and helping develop the tires and give feedback,” Vigil explains. “That long time and that longevity has helped us understand the tire and understand the scope of the brand and what they’re trying to achieve.”

Another bonus of sticking with Avon for so long is that Vigil knows he can trust his tires – a 3D Supersport up front and a Spirit ST in the rear – to execute every stunt he performs.

Vigil considers the Spirit ST the ideal stunting tire, saying, “It’s a good intermediate sport compound, so it has a good slip ratio but a good grip ratio at the same time. And it has the longest tread life because the tread depth is so good.”

When he switches to dual-sport riding, Vigil goes for the Avon TrekRider tire. He explains, “The tread design makes it great offroad, but it maintains a good on-road characteristic.”

Vigil will be relying on his Avons this year, with a full slate of video shoots as well as an event he’s organizing near his hometown of Albuquerque. “I’m so happy Avon has been there supporting me along the way,” Vigil says. “Not a single company I’ve worked with had to believe in me, but they did, and that means a lot to me. I’ll always be as loyal as I can and push to do the right thing in return.” ■

Known for his jaw-dropping stunt riding, Ernie Vigil knows what tires work when you want plenty of traction – or not. An Avon Tyres rider since 2008, has now turned that knowledge toward educating entry-level riders learning the sport.
Professional stunt rider Ernie Vigil is a longtime fan of Avon Tyres for both his stunting, and for his video series helping new riders find their way. He runs them on his street bike as well as his dual-sport machines.

Designed to deliver nothing less than extreme grip, Avon 3D Supersports give you the best possible road contact – which means the best possible handling, the best possible stability and the best possible feedback from the road. A Tire Dealer Program with Immediate Rewards

his year’s AIMExpo was a busy one for the team at Bridgestone thanks to the tire manufacturer’s launch of the new APEX Dealer Program. Designed as a straightforward program to support dealers, there are no stocking minimums and plenty of incentives.

The APEX Dealer Program is ideal for dealers who want a hassle-free way to be rewarded for driving sell-through.

“Once dealers sign up on our program, that’s it!” assures Jim Dowell, National Sales and Racing Manager for Bridgestone Motorcycle. “No special reporting or stocking minimums are required from our dealers. All they need to do is buy Bridgestone motorcycle tires from Authorized Bridgestone distributors, and they will begin to receive their incentives.”

Those tools will help sell more Bridgestone tires and keep the ordering process moving swiftly. The rewards will stack up, and there is no earnings threshold. Bridgestone has an extra incentive for Q1 of this year, which is $5 back on all motorcycle tires purchased through March 31, 2026.

Dowell says the response from dealers at AIMExpo was overwhelmingly positive, especially since the APEX Dealer Program is so straightforward. Plus, most dealers are already familiar with the benefits of working with Bridgestone thanks to the brand’s other programs, including Bridgestone Moto University+Rewards.

The Bridgestone name itself is one that is already wellknown and proven, from racetracks to the streets. That

In other words, ordering Bridgestone tires from Parts Unlimited is still every bit as easy as it was before, but now, there are extra perks to the process. In fact, once a dealer signs up, they start earning with all tires purchased in the month of activation, regardless of the sign-up date. So, if you’re reading this halfway through the month, you can still sign up and get credit for every Bridgestone tire ordered since the 1st.

After signup, the perks accrue quickly. “We pay dealers on a monthly basis when they earn incentives,” Dowell says, “and immediately after their first purchase as an APEX dealer, they receive their dealer POP Kit. This includes a floor mat, window cling, counter mat and welcome booklet.”

instant brand awareness and trust only add to the value of the APEX Dealer Program.

“Bridgestone motorcycle tires are designed and built in Japan, and they’re backed by decades of performance know-how developed at the highest levels of racing— from motocross to road racing,” Dowell notes. “That technology and learning are built into our lineup, so dealers can match riders with a premium tire whether they’re looking for race-level grip, confident everyday performance or long-distance touring comfort.” ■

A Range of Clutch Products Engaging Upgrades

From the very beginning, every rider learns the feel of a clutch lever, even just to take off in first gear. It doesn’t stop there. The learning curve expands quickly and soon they’re sensing the engagement change and talking to riding buddies about the friction zone and clutch feel. Those riders will appreciate the upgrade of a clutch kit or spring conversion kit from Barnett Clutches & Cables.

For bikes like the Yamaha Tenere, FJR or Star models, Barnett manufactures a spring conversion kit that gives owners the confidence to ride this bike to its potential without second guessing clutch engagement.

Barnett’s clutch spring conversion kits, available for Yamaha sport, dual sport and naked bikes, convert a bike’s stock diaphragm spring to six heavy-duty coil springs. Your customers will feel the more progressive and controllable clutch engagement, all of it without compromise. Riders can choose from multiple spring-pressure options depending on the performance they desire. Kits also include a precision-machined billet pressure plate.

These kits help deliver more consistent clamping force across an engine’s full range of operating conditions, improving its capacity to hold torque without slipping. Yamaha riders will appreciate the improved feel and the repeatable engagement, especially when they get on the gas and ride hard for hours.

Owners will also appreciate the durability that comes from Barnett’s use of premium materials. Barnett has, since 1948, made clutch kits and components in America to satisfy those motorcyclists looking for an upgrade to higher performance from this crucial component.

Featuring new carbon or Kevlar friction plates, tempered steel drive plates and a set of heavy-duty springs, Barnett’s street/sport clutch kits are designed for both superior performance and factory-fit installation. Barnett uses a segmented friction plate design that increases oil flow through the clutch for smooth and consistent performance.

At its American manufacturing facility, it puts the tempered steel plates through a de-burring process to remove sharp edges for a superior finish. That matters from the start and over the long run for durability. The manufacturer makes heavy-duty springs from chrome silicon that is shot-peened and heat treated for strength. Then it performs quality checks on all completed clutch kits before packaging. ■

» Your customers will appreciate the performance difference, and your expertise for helping them advance. For more information about Barnett Clutches & Cables, contact your Parts Unlimited sales rep and check out the Off-Road and Street catalogs and www.parts-unlimited.com.

Grip, Strength & Performance Off-Road Tires for Multiple Disciplines

AMS Tires offers 130 different off-road tire models via Parts Unlimited. Among that line-up are the Sand Snake MX – a purposebuilt tube-type rear motorcycle tire for maximum performance in deep sand conditions –and the Bite MX for riders who demand trustworthy traction while traversing the trails.

At the core of the Sand Snake MX is its specially designed paddle setup, designed to provide exceptional straight-line traction and predictable stability. Whether launching hard off the line or maintaining speed across soft sand, the paddle layout ensures consistent forward drive and control.

To further enhance performance, the paddles wrap around the shoulder of the tire, dramatically increasing traction when climbing steep inclines or navigating uneven dune faces. This wrap-around design maximizes pulling power while maintaining stability during aggressive throttle inputs.

The Sand Snake MX is constructed with a unique natural rubber compound that runs cooler under demanding conditions. This compound not only improves performance during extended rides but also delivers increased abrasion resistance, helping the tire stand up to harsh sand environments and repeated use.

Available in six-, eight-, and ten-paddle configurations, riders can select the setup that best matches their machine, riding style, and terrain demands. The tire comes in a range of popular sizes.

For riders more likely to find themselves on the trail in the woods rather than in the desert dunes, AMS Tires offers the extremely versatile 80/20 intermediate terrain Bite MX model of tire.

Built with a four-ply carcass designed to yield an ideal balance of durability and handling, the Bite MX features a semi-wide tread pattern that helps deliver traction and control on both soft and hard surfaces, boasts a larger tread volume on the shoulder for enhanced cornering grip and acceleration, and utilizes an advanced rubber compound that gives the tire an exceptionally low wear rate even while traversing those rocks and roots.

The Bite MX tire comes in five front sizes and eight rear sizes.

Quality You Can Count On HJC Helmets Joins the Parts Family

Aquality helmet is a motorcyclist’s best bet for protecting themselves in a crash, and HJC Helmets has been at the vanguard of helmet manufacturing since 1971. HJC produces helmets that span from affordable entry-level options to premium protection worn by racers participating in the highest levels of competition.

The storied South Korean brand offers styles, features and prices to meet nearly every rider’s needs, and now those excellent helmets are available through Parts Unlimited.

“Our business relationship with LeMans dates back to the 1990s,” says George Hong, president of HJC Americas Inc. in La Habra, California. Hong has been part of HJC for the majority of that time, overseeing the production of select LeMans house-brand helmet lines. “Thanks to recent business developments where Parts Unlimited acquired Sullivans, Inc., we’re now finally partnered with Parts Unlimited to distribute HJC helmets in the United States.” Hong adds. “We are confident that Parts and its dealers will be successful with our helmet lineup.”

Indeed, your customers can turn to HJC for any application, from road racing to commuting to off-road riding and Adventure touring. Those last two categories are somewhere your dealership likely sees a lot of interest and sales, so HJC’s new C50, i80, and top-tier RPHA 60 should be top of mind for customers who like to explore off pavement.

The all-new C50 is a sleek, modern off-road helmet that’s lightweight, DOT and ECE certified, and delivers many features at a great price point. By blending highgrade polycarbonate with ABS in the optimal ratio, HJC has developed a helmet shell that has excellent impact strength while keeping weight to a minimum. Within that wind-tunnel tested shell is a carefully crafted EPS liner engineered to deal with impact energy.

The C50’s moisture-wicking liner is removable for washing, and the cheek pads are interchangeable across all helmet sizes, offering your customers the option of customizing the fit.

Since the C50 is likely to be worn at speed, HJC finetuned the shell shape and peak visor to reduce drag and improve stability. At the same time, special attention was paid to the C50’s ventilation system, which uses high and low pressure zones on the shell to flush heat and humidity out of the helmet. Available in solid colors and a variety of appealing graphics for less than the cost of a chain and sprockets, the C50 is sure to be a popular option for your off-road-riding clients.

In the ADV category, the all-new i80 serves as a strong mid-price option with upgraded features. It’s a versatile touring helmet designed for any ride, and like the C50, features an Advanced Polycarbonate Composite Shell that’s lightweight and strong. The i80’s modular capability is a game-changer, allowing riders to switch between open and full-face mode. With the peak visor in place, the i80 cuts an aggressive profile and provides adaptable sun and roost protection. Remove the visor and your customers have a sleek-looking road helmet with improved aerodynamics and a quieter ride.

The wide-format visor shields 99 percent of UV light and is ready to accept the included Pinlock anti-fog insert. For added eye comfort there’s a retractable, anti-fog coated sun visor, making a separate tinted visor unnecessary. The shell and comfort liner are designed to accept glasses, and the liner is fully removable for washing.

Again, HJC employed its in-house wind tunnel to develop and test the i80’s shape and ventilation system, and settled on an Advanced Channeling Ventilation System that effectively pulls air through the helmet via three adjustable vents (chin, brow, and back of head). To help riders stay connected and in communication, the i80 is compatible with the SMART HJC Bluetooth system.

Finally, there’s the new RPHA 60, which “stands out as the premier ADV helmet,” says Hong. The RPHA 60 is a premium dual-sport helmet with a heavy dose of RPHA-style sportiness. That means a sport fit with a snug entry port and chin flap to better seal the base of the helmet, reduce wind noise, and improve road manners.

Featuring HJC’s revolutionary Premium Integrated Matrix EVO (PIM EVO) construction, this helmet has a lightweight yet durable structure that’s optimized for aerodynamic performance. With three intake and four exhaust vents, your customers can fine-tune ventilation to improve comfort as well as reduce fogging, noise, and drag when riding. Designed for comfort, the helmet’s removable interior offers moisture-wicking, quick-drying properties, and it’s Bluetooth ready for added convenience on the go.

With a legacy that spans more than 50 years, HJC has cemented its reputation as a trailblazer in the realm of motorcycle helmet manufacturing. Throughout its history, HJC has remained committed to producing innovative, high-quality helmets, and now those products are available through Parts Unlimited. ■

Dressing Up Premium Off-Road Gear

During the 2025 racing season, the Alpha One gear from Moose Offroad was put to the test on tracks and trails everywhere, from the top levels of pro racing to amateur competition. The result was no surprise – this premium-grade off-road gear line performed flawlessly and drew raves from racers. For the 2026 season, Moose Offroad has four new colorways for the Alpha One gear.

The team at Moose Offroad went into last season knowing the Alpha One gear could stand up to the rigors of racing. The jersey and pants were extensively tested by the company’s stable of riders, and their input ensured the final product was cool, comfortable and able to stand up to the rigors of competition.

“The Alpha One gear is some of the highest-quality gear I have worn in my racing career,” said Cody Barnes. The Factory Beta rider is making his debut in XC1 this season. “The stretch material of the pants makes for a tight yet comfortable fit. The jerseys are lightweight and vented very well, making it perfect for all conditions. I’ve been with Moose since the 2018 season. Their commitment to the off-road racing scene is unmatched.”

The vented Alpha One jersey is made from a lightweight, multi-panel stretch polymer. This allows the jersey to have an athletic cut that doesn’t look bulky while still providing unrestricted movement, even during the most grueling of riding conditions.

In addition to the stretch, the material also helps wick moisture away from the rider’s body for a cooler, dryer experience. Mesh panels keep air flowing to further that comfort factor.

Since the Alpha One gear line was designed with racers in mind, the jersey includes a hydration hose pass-through, so a hydration pack can be integrated with ease. This is an ideal setup for endurance riders who need that hydration on the go.

Like the jersey, the Alpha One pants are designed for maximum range of motion without being bulky. At the same time, the design team at Moose Offroad knew durability would be of utmost importance, too.

To meet both of those challenges, the pants feature fourway stretch panels in key zones where flexibility is a must. The legs are pre-curved, too, for additional comfort. The durability factor gets kicked up a notch with the full-grain inner knee panels, which double as additional grip for the rider’s legs. The knees also include reinforced highdensity panels to guard against wear.

Staying cool during even during the hardest racing makes a difference in a rider’s performance, and the pants have laser-cut ventilation holes in key areas to allow airflow over the rider’s legs without compromising the durability. ■

Versatile Vehicles

Building the Right UTV for the Job

Of all the powersports vehicles on the market, UTVs are easily the most versatile. A stock UTV can be used to get a lot of different tasks done, and with the right modifications, it can become the perfect vehicle for a specific use. Moose Offroad makes it easy to build the right UTV for the job with its range of aftermarket parts and accessories, like the 1500 utility trailer, headache racks and glass windshields.

“Moose Offroad has everything a customer needs to build their UTV to the exact specs for the task at hand,” says Moose Offroad General Manager Jared Krueger. “And it’s not just about parts built for hard work. We also have a range of products that make the ride more comfortable and convenient.”

That convenience can be found in the 1500 utility trailer, which can haul as much as 22 cubic feet of material and up to 1,500 pounds of weight. This rugged trailer is made from heavy-duty steel to make sure it can withstand both the cargo and the terrain. The large off-road flotation tires ensure a smoother ride over rough ground, and the sealed bearings make the tires virtually maintenance-free.

One of the most notable perks of the trailer is that the side rails and tailgate are all removable, so the trailer can be

configured for the cargo. This makes loading and unloading easier and gives the trailer more versatility.

Keeping anyone onboard a UTV safe from outside elements is easy with a Moose Offroad headache rack and glass windshield. The headache rack provides a sturdy barrier between the cab and the cargo bed, and the bold style looks as good as it protects.

Each headache rack is made from 14-gauge steel and topped with a heavy-duty powder coat. The end result is a rack strong enough to guard riders from shifting cargo and any environmental hazards.

Up front, a glass windshield from Moose Offroad provides a gapless seal to keep things clean and dry inside. The glass is a high-quality, scratch-resistant style that has DOT approval, and it’s surrounded by powder-coated metal for even more durability. When a little extra airflow is required, the dual sliding vents can be adjusted as needed. ■

Upgrading an Adventure Tire

Why choose between riding on the street or doing a bit of offroad riding? For Adventure riders, the ability to do both is a huge part of that segment’s appeal, but it’s not just the motorcycle that has to be able to tackle both kinds of terrain. Tire choice plays a significant role in how well an Adventure bike handles on-road and off-road riding, and Michelin now has the Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 tire available for riders who want that versatility.

The Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 is an 80/20 tire, with a 32 percent-tread-void ratio that perfectly suits its place in the Michelin lineup of Adventure-ready tires. Whether a rider craves adventure on paved roads or wants to explore on a mix of surfaces, Michelin has a tire for it. The Michelin Road 6 tire is a solid on-road tire, while the 90/10 Michelin Anakee Road and Anakee III tires are great choices for riders who occasionally do some light off-road treks. Riders who want some more off-road capability can opt for the Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 tire range, while the Michelin Anakee Wild tires round out the portfolio as a 50/50 tire.

“The new Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 tire marks a key milestone in Michelin’s global trail strategy,” said Amanda Wemette, motorcycle brand manager for Michelin North America, Inc. “Building on the performance of the prior generation tire, this new tire represents Michelin’s commitment to innovation for riders worldwide.”

The Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 tire has some significant upgrades compared to its predecessor, the Michelin Anakee Adventure tire. Longevity is greatly enhanced, with a 14 percent improvement that comes from features like a new silica compound and Michelin 2CT Technology. That same compound also helps with grip in wet riding conditions, and that’s another area where the measured improvement is notable: the Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 tire range has 10 percent more wet grip than its predecessor.

When it comes to rider comfort, there are more factors at work than simply how a ride feels. Road noise can be annoying, tiring or even distracting, but the Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 range is designed to deliver a quieter ride.

Adventure tires that can handle both on-road and off-road riding require a careful balance, and the Michelin Anakee

Adventure 2 tire delivers on that with its dedicated tread design and Michelin Reinforced Radial-X Evo Technology. These things combine to provide the right levels of grip and stability off-road while still offering a smooth, predictable street experience.

Flip Your Lid

Modular Convenience Meets Sportbike Style

Touring riders quickly embraced the modular helmet, but sportbike riders also want the convenience of a lid that can flip open with ease. ICON has answered the call with the new Threshold helmet, which combines street style with modular design.

“We set out to create something that didn’t exist – the world’s first modular performance sportbike helmet,” said ICON Senior Designer John Whitaker. “By applying ICON’s sharp lines, fast forms and aerodynamic presence to the modular segment, the Threshold brings our design language into a space that’s long needed it.”

ICON’s new Threshold helmet combines its well-known street style with handy, modular design. Your customers will enjoy high style and full coverage, as well as the convenience of a flip-up chin bar.

The Threshold gives sportbike riders the full-face coverage they want, along with distinctive ICON DNA. Nods to the popular Airflite and Airframe helmets can be seen in the lines of the Threshold, which has the sleek, aerodynamic shell of a classic ICON helmet.

By being able to flip up the chin bar at the touch of a button, riders get the convenience of being able to stop for a conversation, a water break or just a bit of fresh air on their face before continuing the ride. And all of that is possible without the need to give up ICON’s street performance style.

“Modular helmets have traditionally leaned toward bulky shapes and touring-first design,” Whitaker noted. “At ICON, that never sat right with us. Many of us are daily lifers, mixing commuter miles with our own breed of aggressive street riding, and that lifestyle is what led to the birth of the Threshold. You can see the result. It looks like it wants to move, even when it’s sitting still.”

The handmade composite fiberglass shell has a blend of strength, comfort and impact management design, and it meets world safety standards. Inside, the oversized intake vents and exhaust ports make sure plenty of air flows through the EPS liner. That fresh air along with the Hydradry comfort liner keep things cool and dry inside the helmet.

Riders get a clear view of the road ahead with the fog-free shield and internal dark smoke Threshold Dropshield, which makes riding at all light levels a breeze.

Another perk is one that a rider hopes to never need, but it’s reassuring to know it’s there. The Threshold

includes emergency-release cheek pads, which allows for a safer removal of the helmet by professionals in the case of an emergency.

The Threshold is ideal for everything from a daily commute to Sport-Touring, thanks to its convenient design and features. Plus, the Threshold is designed to accept ICON’s Helmlink Bluetooth communication system for easy connectivity. ■

Performance Goggles for Every Level Looking Good

Even the smallest piece of riding gear deserves careful attention to detail and design. That was the mindset when the team at Alpinestars decided to get into the goggle game with its lineup of seven performance goggle options.

As one would expect, the goggles were made with the same advanced technologies and 60 years’ worth of experience that drive other Alpinestars products. They were developed and tested in the top tiers of motocross and Supercross racing, too.

All of the styles in the Alpinestars goggle lineup were engineered for premium optical clarity, effective moisture management and outstanding comfort.

“Goggles may be one of the most affordable pieces of riding gear, but their impact on safety and performance is priceless,” says Brent Jaswinski, Sales Communications Manager for Alpinestars. “Off-road riders face constant challenges like changes in terrain, dust, debris, roost, humidity, sweat, and fogging; all of which compromise visibility. A highquality pair of Alpinestars goggles is designed to manage these conditions through advanced lens and ventilation technology, helping riders maintain focus, control and confidence. When visibility matters most, the right goggles aren’t optional, they’re essential!”

The top-of-the-line Supertech goggle leads the way in the lineup. The stiff outer frame helps absorb impacts from debris and roost, while the soft, conforming inner frame provides comfort as well as an adaptable fit. The exclusive A-FLEX compound allows the goggle to mold itself to the rider’s face for a perfect seal.

combination provides a comfortable fit as well as a good seal on the face. The lens for each Vision model is made from a super-clear polycarbonate that has a hard coating to prevent scratches and fogging.

The lens of the Supertech features Alpinestars Absolute Vision technology, which is designed to focus light correctly into the retina while providing a distortion-free view. The lens is quite literally easy on the eyes, reducing eye fatigue and providing a wider field of view.

The Vision 8 goggle has many of the same design cues as the Supertech, including the wrap-around outrigger design and an optimized strap wedge for improved comfort and fit.

The Vision 8, Vision 5 and Vision 3 goggles all have A-FLEX frames paired with an ultra-wide nose bridge area. This

Alpinestars’s goggle lineup offers a choice for riders of all types. Each one features advanced lenses and high-flow ventilation.

The Vision 5 platform is also the basis for the OTG (over the glasses) goggle and a new sand goggle from Alpinestars.

Younger riders haven’t been forgotten. The Vision Youth goggle is a full race goggle but designed for smaller helmets and face shapes. The A-FLEX urethane frame, 15mm-thick foam and chammy layer provide the same comfort and fit as the adult versions of the goggle, and the same polycarbonate lens ensures a clear view of what’s ahead. Tear-off posts are even a part of the package. ■

Serious About Protection The Shape of High Performance

Helmet manufacturers continue to advance offroad helmet design, improving both protection and performance. With such a wide range of options across price points and fit, your customers rely on your dealership to help guide the selection process, because choosing the right helmet matters.

Riders who are serious about the protection, comfort, fit and overall performance of an off-road helmet should try on an Arai VX-Pro4. Arai is dedicated to continual improvements for rider protection and overall quality, believing more protection can be found in the ongoing accumulation of updates, large and small.

integrity and protection inherent to the design. The engineering challenge benefits all off-roaders.

Arai helmet shells are consistently smooth with fewer protrusions, meaning less of the helmet is likely to catch during a spill. The manufacturer has worked for years to improve rider protection by developing a smoother and stronger egg shape.

Arai uses multiple proprietary components to create the shell. Its “Super Fiber” provides 30 percent higher tensile strength and increased penetration resistance. And the manufacturer’s cLc (complex Laminate construction) process requires time and skilled craftsmanship. Arai helmet

Arai’s VX-Pro4 off-road helmet features the company’s unique egg-shaped form, which is designed to glance off impact energy during a crash. The round, smooth shell is created by hand, just as Arai has done for more than 70 years.

“Arai invests considerable time and resources to produce helmets with a strong, organic egg shape,” said Jeff Weil, marketing manager for Arai. “It’s about more than just meeting international helmet standards.” The egg-shaped helmet form, Arai believes, delivers the best glancing-off performance. One of the most important characteristics of the VX-Pro4 helmet is its ability to glance off impact energy during a crash. The round, strong and smooth shell is the basis for the glancing-off performance, reducing the intrusion of any impact energy into the helmet, lowering potential damage to a rider’s head.

Because the human head is not egg-shaped, Arai engineers devised a multi-density, one-piece helmet liner that fits inside the egg-shaped shell and maintains the

shells are made by hand, as they have been for more than 70 years.

The VX-Pro4 has more features that off-road riders appreciate. Its mesh grill is mounted from the outside so it’s easy to clean or replace. The goggle strap locator on the sides and near the top rear *air-through duct keeps the strap in place all around the helmet.

The helmet’s peak has large air outlets and a long and wide design that deflects roost and flying debris. The VX-Pro4 also includes a removable neck roll to ease cleaning. ■

Designed to Win

Year by year, bikes are getting more powerful, so our drivetrain and brakes absolutely need to follow that evolution,” said Joel Smets, former world motocross champion and current team manager for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. “We trust Moto-Master because their components allow our riders to push to the absolute limit without worrying about failure.”

Sometimes, you just need to hear from an expert who is on the front line – the starting line – for the races. You need other information too, and that’s coming here.

When considering a chain and sprocket kit, it’s good to think of these two parts as one system. That’s a pillar of the Moto-Master design. The manufacturer designs its chains and sprockets to work as a matched pair. It optimizes the radius of the sprocket’s tooth for the specific roller diameter of its Velocity Series chains. This helps minimize chain slap and the power loss that follows.

Right along with design, Moto-Master highlights its materials and manufacturing. All Moto-Master sprockets are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 alloy. Machining maintains the aluminum’s structural integrity much better than stamping. That aluminum is also lightweight. Every racer knows the importance of reducing their bike’s unsprung weight to allow better acceleration and to aid suspension response.

Moto-Master’s range of drive chains are built for tough use, and include sealed and non-sealed models. Its x-ring chains are designed for strength and to stay sealed against debris.

Even the lightest sprocket could gain weight on a muddy track. That’s why Moto-Master designs self-cleaning sprockets with mud grooves between every tooth. And it’s not just about weight; dirt buildup leads to premature chain stretch and sprocket wear.

Moto-Master finishes each sprocket with a color-anodized coating that hardens the surface to resist pitting and corrosion. It looks good and the protection is a performance plus.

Moto-Master’s flagship 520 chains use X-rings to increase the chain’s usable life. By providing a superior seal against debris, the X-ring reduces friction by up to 40 percent compared to standard O-rings. To enhance chain strength, Moto-Master uses chromium carbide-treated pins and perforated inner plates. The manufacturer has X-ring chains in a range of sizes for moto, enduro and ATV use.

Racers who prefer non-sealed chains will want to use the GP Series chain. This product is made with hard-chromed pins and high-quality German steel and is designed to withstand the intensity of professional motocross starts.

Your serious off-road customers will appreciate Moto-Master’s attention to the details of performance, and the brand’s long history of winning in MXGP racing competition. ■

Next Gen 50/50 Dual-Sport Tire

For the past 40 years, the iconic Continental TKC80 has been helping Dual-Sport and Adventure riders get wherever they want to go. Now, the TKC802 is ushering in a new era for off-road capability and street confidence.

This second-generation tire has the heritage of its predecessor behind it as well as a wealth of technology. The TKC802 keeps that aggressive off-road profile, but it has been redesigned with bigger shoulder blocks, new sidewall design and other features for improved performance and maximum adventure potential.

The TKC802 joins the rest of Continental’s Dual-Sport options, giving riders plenty of choices to match their motorcycle and their style of riding.

“The Dual-Sport segment is a very popular vertical for us,” comments Alec Dare, Marketing Manager, Continental Motorcycle Tires – The Americas. “We have fitments like the TKC 70, TKC 70 Rocks and TKC 80 just to name a few. With the new TKC Gen 2 coming, we can’t wait to fire up the dual-sport community with this great new product.”

The new tread pattern on the TKC802 boasts optimized block distribution for improved grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Off-road traction and mileage both get a boost thanks to more mechanical grip that comes from the biting edges, staggered shoulder blocks and optimized block geometry.

The tread design also smooths out the ride, giving the new tire yet another benefit. The revised footprint is larger, and that results in both improved stability and control. And, by making the blocks stiffer, the TKC802 gives riders more precision and durability during on-road riding.

When it came to developing the compound for the TKC802, Continental engineers were faced with the classic Dual-Sport dilemma: How do you strike the right balance for both on-road and off-road? A compound has to be flexible enough for the toughness of on-road riding, but at the same time, it needs to be stiff enough to grip in off-road environments. The compound for the TKC802 blends those elements to create a true 50/50 balance, and it benefits from RainGrip technology. A specially activated silica compound means the tire has outstanding grip in wet conditions.

In addition to grip, the TKC802 tire also provides a high level of stable, comfortable handling. Damping has been optimized to make sure riders feel confident whether they’re riding at higher speeds on paved roads or tackling tricky off-road stretches. ■

WConsistent Calipers

Fade is Not Your Friend

hen it comes to off-road riding or ripping motos at the track, brake fade is not your friend. To help on this front, the brake experts at DP Brakes have engineered a fade-resistant solution with its off-road caliper pistons. The pistons are proving popular for off-road riders who demand consistent braking performance. They’re especially powerful for motocross racers who rely on rear brakes (or those who can’t get their foot completely off the pedal).

To make these pistons so powerful, DP Brakes took a wholistic approach to design. On the inside, the piston’s radial cooling fins increase the surface area to improve heat transfer; that helps prevent brake fluid heating. The manufacturer added a radius to the rear cavity – again, providing a larger surface area.

On the outside, the piston surface has a Nitron MC coating and diamond-burnished finish for low-friction performance. The pistons are chamfered to reduce the contact patch with the brake pad; that’s the heat source in repeated braking. And for ventilation across the piston

surface, DP Brakes drills and castellates them (that’s the castle-like look).

Performance-wise, this results in lower temps, reduced wear and consistent braking. That also means longer brake pad life. With a year of production complete, these pistons are proving their value across the off-road community and to Randy Hawkins and his AmPro Yamaha Racing Team. ■

Horsepower Connection

Drive Chain for On- and Off-Road

Chains can often be an afterthought, but they’re quite literally the connecting links between the engine and the rear wheel. With over a century of chain manufacturing experience, Regina doesn’t take that responsibility lightly, and that’s evident in its ZRT and ZRE chains.

Made entirely in Italy with German steel, ZRT and ZRE chains use Regina’s Z-ring seals to deliver up to 80 percent longer life and less resistance than a common O-ring chain

connecting-link styles are offered for 520 chains. The 525 chains are available with rivet-type and hollow-type connecting links and are intended for larger-displacement motorcycle applications.

“Our aim is to always deliver the right product for each specific bike to achieve optimal durability and performance,” commented Federico Gualdi, Motorcycle Sales Director. “ZRT for mid-displacement bikes and ZRE for Adventure bikes definitely achieve these goals!” ■

Fitments for Modern and Classic Bikes

brand found off-road across the globe, Wössner has been offering the motorcycle industry forged pistons since their introduction by Eckart Wössner in 1994.

Wössner’s impressive product range carried by Parts Unlimited includes a great variety of high quality 2-stroke and 4-stroke forged pistons for nearly every off-road motorcycle produced during the past 50 years.

“We’re proud to offer Wössner’s forged pistons and rods for the latest off-road models back to models from the 1970’s,” says Wössner’s Bob DiFranco. “Dealers, repair shops and professional engine builders appreciate Wössner’s graded sizing options.”

One feature of Wössner pistons that engine builders and shops appreciate are its graded bore sizes. Graded piston sizes are the finish diameter at the largest point on the piston skirt, known as the fitting size of the piston. This size grading determines the clearance between the piston and cylinder wall. Graded sizes are typically A, B, and C. The diameter difference between each size is .01mm (.0004 inch).

All Wössner pistons come with Wössner’s full coverage skirt coating for smooth, quiet operation and long life, with the piston part number containing the graded size. Wössner’s 4-stroke pistons are made in various compression ratios and offer graded bore sizes to maintain perfect piston to cylinder clearance, while many of Wössner’s 2-stroke pistons come in single and dual ring configurations and are also available in graded bore sizes. ■

Friction Function

Brake System Upgrade Piece by Piece

Riding off-road can be unpredictable, but braking components shouldn’t be. Brake pads, rotors and brake lines from GBrakes work together to deliver consistent performance across a range of riding styles.

Brake pads deliver the bite and GBrakes offers two types of compounds so your customers can find the feel they’re looking for. Semi-Metallic pads are built for riders who want reliable performance without lightening their wallet, blending strength and durability. Riders pushing harder and running faster should grab HH Sintered pads designed to deliver stopping power as strong as the throttle.

GBrakes’ line of brake products are designed to work together to deliver consistent performance.

Complementing its brake pads, GBrakes’ range of WAVE® rotors also cover different performance needs, from the consistent reliability of solid-mount rotors to floating designs built for maximum heat dissipation and stopping

power that won’t quit. Durability is optimized with GBrakes’ CryoTech® material treatment, resulting in better stress resistance.

Upgraded pads and rotors are powerless without proper brake fluid delivery, which is why GBrakes’s off-road, USA-made brakes lines are constructed with a PTFE core and stainless steel braiding for sharp braking response that doesn’t diminish like stock lines.

“The benefits of each of these components build off each other for a complete system upgrade riders can feel,” says Sandro Milesi, GBrakes’ CEO. “Customers can upgrade one at a time to best serve their riding style or go for the whole package.” ■
