Kathy Sommervold Retires
BY DON EMDE
In this issue, you’ll find our report from the NVP Product Expo held in Louisville in late-January. As always, the bi-annual gathering of LeMans Corporation’s dealers, sales reps, vendors and management of Parts Unlimited, Drag Specialties and Parts Canada was a very successful event. There was, however, a bittersweet moment when it was announced that long-time Events Manager Kathy Sommervold was retiring. We were happy for her that she had the opportunity to retire, but sad that we’ll no longer be working with her.
We had the pleasure of working with Kathy the entire time that we have been publishing Parts Magazine. In fact, way back in the fall
of 1993, when Fred Fox and I agreed that my company would begin publishing a magazine for Parts Unlimited, Kathy had already been working for Fred for 11 years.
As we began working on our Premier issue, one of the stories we had for the new publication was a report on an event held a few months earlier that Kathy organized completely. She was reporting then to the LeMans’ Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Gary “Jet” Johnson, who got his nickname from his involvement with Jet Skis while working previously at Kawasaki. In 1993, Jet came up with the idea to use a big Jet Ski race at Lake Havasu, Arizona as an opportunity to promote the Parts Unlimited name. So, with Kathy handling the details, they invited many top dealers to come enjoy the event as guests on a cruise boat aptly named the “U.S.S. Parts Unlimited.”
Over 400 dealer personnel accepted the invitation, a good time was had by all, and the door was opened for Parts Unlimited to begin using hospitality events as a way to build relationships with the dealers. Soon to follow were numerous successful dealer hospitality activities at Supercross, motocross, roadrace and snowmobile races, plus dealer rides such as the Rocky Mountain 300, UP300, and later rides and the NVPs that continue to the current day.
It was all managed by Kathy Sommervold, with support from her Events Team, including her longtime assistant Lisa Reif, who is stepping into Kathy’s former position as Events Manager.
We wish Kathy all the best in her retirement and send her a huge ‘thank you’ for all the help that she extended to me and my staff as we were reporting on those many events. Congratulations on a job well done! ■
Sincerely,
Publisher / Editor-in-Chief

NEWS EVENTS AND AmPro Yamaha Set for 2026 Off-Road Campaign
As the 2026 off-road season gets rolling, AmPro Yamaha Racing is fielding a stacked lineup that includes several riders backed by Moose Offroad, underscoring the brand’s continued presence across the GNCC paddock. With championship-proven veterans and emerging talent on the roster, the team remains a serious contender across multiple classes.
Leading the premier GNCC XC1 effort is eighttime GNCC Champion Kailub Russell, the winningest rider in series history. Entering another season with AmPro Yamaha, Russell looks to build upon his return to competition after battling through adversity in recent years. Despite managing injuries, Russell continued to demonstrate race-winning pace, adding to a career resume that already includes one of the most dominant championship streaks in GNCC history.
“I’m excited to kick off the new season with a year under my belt back racing and with Yamaha,” says Russell. “I’ve learned a lot with the team and bike, and I’m ready for a great year of racing.”
Joining Russell in the XC1 class is former GNCC XC2 Champion Liam Draper, who continues his upward trajectory in the premier division. Draper has steadily established himself as one of the sport’s most consistent frontrunners, carrying momentum from multiple podium finishes and strong performances across national competition. As he continues refining his program aboard the YZ450F, Draper remains firmly in the championship conversation.
AmPro Yamaha’s women’s program remains strong with the return of Danielle McDonald, who enters another season targeting top results in the WXC Championship. McDonald has continued to build experience competing in the U.S., showcasing speed and consistency while further strengthening the team’s presence in the highly competitive class. Also returning is Brandon Gregoire, who continues to anchor AmPro Yamaha’s efforts in regional and specialty off-road competition. Gregoire’s results have solidified his role as a key contributor within the team’s broader racing program. ■
Ryan Villopoto Returns to Kawasaki — and to THOR
Ryan Villopoto is heading home. The four-time 450 AMA Supercross and five-time Pro Motocross Champion has rejoined Kawasaki as a brand ambassador, reuniting with the brand he rode exclusively throughout his Hall of Fame professional career.
During his time with Kawasaki, Villopoto captured 10 major professional championships and 83 race wins before stepping away from competition in 2015. He then moved into a brand ambassador role with Yamaha in 2018, representing the BLU CRU program for several years before the two parties parted ways.
Now RV is back where it all started — and he’s bringing the full look with him. Alongside the Kawasaki announcement, Villopoto also confirmed
a return to THOR, the gear brand he wore throughout his entire amateur and professional racing career. For fans who watched Villopoto dominate the sport, the sight of RV back in THOR puts him right back where he belongs.
His entire racing career, even in the amateur ranks, Villopoto raced Kawasakis and wore THOR Racing gear; making this reunion feel less like a business move and more like a homecoming. Kawasaki welcomed him back simply and fittingly, noting his championship pedigree and saying, “Welcome home, RV.”
Parts Magazine looks forward to seeing what RV brings to the Kawasaki and THOR families in his ambassador role. ■

NEWS EVENTS AND Royal Enfield BTR Returns
TSIXTH SEASON OPENS IN MOTOAMERICA Brian
he Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. program returns to the MotoAmerica Championship for its sixth consecutive season, continuing to build its presence as a platform for developing female road racers. The all-female national championship will feature eight races across four rounds in 2026, with support from series sponsors including Parts Unlimited.

The 2026 BTR Championship will span four MotoAmerica events, beginning at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta before heading to Road America, The Ridge Motorsports Park and concluding at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The eight-race schedule keeps the program in front of a national roadracing audience throughout the season.
Each year, BTR competitors transform stock Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 motorcycles into race-ready machines using factory-developed bodywork and performance upgrades. Suspension, braking and exhaust components are upgraded within controlled guidelines to help maintain parity across the grid. The equal-equipment format keeps the emphasis on rider talent, racecraft and development.
The 2026 roster includes 10 riders: six newly selected racers and four returning competitors from the previous season. That mix continues to give the program a balance of new opportunity and growing experience within the paddock.
“The BTR program has evolved into a vital pillar of our racing identity,” says Adrian Sellers, Royal Enfield Head of Custom & Motorsport. “MotoAmerica’s platform allows us to amplify the passion behind the series while continuing to support and elevate women in racing.”
MotoAmerica leadership also pointed to the program’s role in expanding access to professional competition.
“This program has become a fan favorite and continues to open doors for women who may not otherwise have the opportunity to get on the grid,” says MotoAmerica COO Chuck Aksland. “With Freddie Spencer and his team providing elite coaching on both riding skills and technical development, participants receive a level of preparation that sets them up for long-term success.”
Beyond the on-track action, BTR continues to serve as a development pipeline by offering structured mentorship and national exposure. With backing from industry partners including Parts Unlimited, the program remains a strong example of how manufacturer-supported racing can create broader opportunity within the sport.
As the 2026 championship unfolds, the Royal Enfield Build.Train.Race. program continues its focus on rider development and competitive racing within the MotoAmerica paddock. ■

Race WINNERS and Championship LEADERS
W2026 AMA
e’re just past the halfway point of the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross season. Parts Unlimited and THOR support riders at every level of the sport. Here’s a look at several who have been running up front, earning podiums, winning races and leading points chases so far this season.
250 SUPERCROSS EAST
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s #37 Cole Davies continues to show why he’s considered one of the sport’s top young talents. He rides with a smooth, controlled style that can make his speed look almost effortless, especially through the whoops, where he appears to skim across the tops.
Davies got off to a rough start in 250 Supercross East after getting caught in a first-turn pileup, but he charged back through the field to finish fifth. He followed that with a runner-up finish at Daytona, then took over with an overall win at the Triple Crown in Indianapolis by winning all three races. He backed that up with another overall at the East-West Showdown in Birmingham and another win in Detroit, giving him three straight overall victories. He currently leads the points chase and carries the red plate in the 250 Supercross East title battle.

MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS
“When I don’t perform, I’m pretty hard on myself. Me, my family, and all the people around me put in so much hard work, so when I don’t perform like I know I can I’m pretty hard on myself,” Davies said after his win in Detroit. “But I’m stoked with that Main Event. I know that’s how I can ride. I just put everything together well … I made it happen, so I’m stoked with that.”
250 SUPERCROSS WEST
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s #61 Max Anstie opened the 250 Supercross West season with a win at Anaheim. Since then, he has led multiple races, but mistakes have cost him positions. Even so, he has rallied for a string of consistent topeight-or-better finishes, including a third-place podium result in Seattle. That consistency has helped put him second in the points chase.
SMX NEXT
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s #82 Caden Dudney started the 2026 season in the SMX Next class with a runnerup finish at Anaheim 2, then won the main event in Houston. He then moved into the pro 250 Supercross ranks and immediately began making main events in 250 Supercross East. Now competing at that level, his next goal is to crack the top 10 in a main event.
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Kayden Minear #99 also showed his Supercross speed in SMX Next, taking the win at Anaheim 2 and following it with a fifth-place finish at Daytona. He is now in the hunt for the SMX Next championship.
Parts Magazine wishes all THOR/Parts Unlimited riders the best as the 2026 season continues. ■

ON THE RISE A NEW SEASON OF MOOSE OFFROAD RACING HAS BEGUN
An all-new season of off-road racing is underway, and 2026 is already delivering new faces on national podiums – with Moose Offroad firmly in the mix. Backed by teams including AmPro Yamaha and PHX Racing Honda in the east and FMF RPM KTM Racing and Liqui Moly Beta Factory Offroad in the west, Moose Offroad athletes are competing across the full landscape of U.S. racing – from GNCC to WORCS, NGPC to Hare Scrambles, Hare and Hound and American National Enduro.
Mason Semmens of the FMF RPM KTM Racing Team made an immediate impact after stepping into the 450 ranks in 2026. After leading early at the WORCS opener, Semmens took the Pro 450 win at round two and backed it up with a pair of second-place finishes – enough to put him atop the Pro points standings. He’s also knocking on the door of the NGPC podium.
Liam Draper of AmPro Yamaha is making 2026 his breakout year. He opened with a win at the American National Enduro Championship opener, grabbed the holeshot at the GNCC opener and climbed to second overall at the muddy Talladega GNCC in round three. The National Enduro scene may be where Draper shines brightest – he claimed the round-two victory to start a win streak and move to the top of the points chase, ahead of the two riders who have dominated American enduro racing for the past decade.
Draper’s AmPro Yamaha teammate Danielle McDonald is also making her mark. She took the WXC win at the Big Buck GNCC – a career first – then claimed the Women’s Pro win at the U.S. Sprint Enduro opener. McDonald has stayed on the podium in subsequent GNCC rounds, setting up a tight points battle with Korie Steede that promises to be one of the storylines of the season.
Moose Offroad/AmPro Yamaha’s Danielle McDonald shows the form that has propelled her into the points lead of the GNCC WXC class.
It’s a breakout season for Moose Offroad/AmPro Yamaha’s Liam Draper. As of press time he was leading the points run in the American National Enduro Championship.
Out west, Beta racers Dare DeMartile and Zane Roberts are turning heads. DeMartile pushed defending NGPC champion Dante Oliveira to the wire at the series opener in Delano, finishing just one second back. He also led at the Reno NGPC before settling for second, then broke through with a win at the Havasu WORCS round. An NGPC victory looks like a matter of time.
Roberts delivered a highlight-reel performance at round three of the West Hare Scrambles, going wheel-to-wheel with Mateo Oliveira before finishing second by one second. Roberts is running strong in both the West Hare Scrambles and the National Hare & Hound Championship, where he currently sits second in points.
Beta riders are also running strong in the east, with Jahk Walker taking his first XC2 250 Pro win at round two of the GNCC Series.
Cole Zeller of the FMF RPM KTM Team has been dominant in the 250 class. The Moose Offroad athlete swept the Pro 250 and Open Pro wins at the WORCS opener, added a second Pro 250 win at round two and finished runner-up at round three. At Glen Helen, Zeller earned his first career Pro II victory and an impressive fourth overall on the day.
The PHX Racing Honda team has its own standouts. Jordan Ashburn led the early laps of the 2026 GNCC season and finished second at the muddy Big Buck GNCC. Tayla Jones dominated the J-Day Off-Road/Red Bull Championship opener with a 1-1 finish and has her sights set on the regional title.
The 2026 off-road season is still young – and Moose Offroad athletes are already on the move. ■

KATHY SOMMERVOLD RETIRES
FOUR DECADES OF TEAMWORK AND CAN-DO GRIT
As Fred purchased additional segments of business, Kathy moved up the ranks and helped integrate these new lines. That sometimes meant spending weeks away with newly added teams to support training and a smooth transition. “That was one of the things I loved to do,” she says.
As time went on, she learned other sides of the business.
“When we were at our temporary place in Janesville, Fred bought Drag Specialties, so we got truckloads full of Drag products then,” she says. And when the company moved into the new Janesville facility, she helped get that going.
“That was a project!”
In 1993, when Kathy was assisting the manager in the warehouse at Janesville, a position became available to run events with the late “Jet” Johnson, then VP of Sales and Marketing. Fred and now retired Secretary of LeMans Corporation Lynne Severson offered her the position as Event Coordinator.
At first, there was no events department and no team. “I trained myself,” she says. “In the early days my husband and young daughter would help me stuff event hospitality invitations at home.”
Writing about Kathy Sommervold’s retirement from the LeMans Corporation after 44 years of loyal service might sound like a slam dunk. But it’s harder than you’d think. It’s not enough to say that everyone who’s worked with Kathy over the decades respects and admires her.
Her work ethic, enthusiasm and creativity set a high bar. So do her sense of humor and zest for fun. You could run out of adjectives trying to capture what she’s meant to so many people, and that feels fitting for someone so widely respected and appreciated.
Someone did recognize Kathy’s strengths early on. It was a lucky day for the late Fred Fox when she applied for a job at LeMans’ Edgerton, Wisconsin, offices in December 1982. She was hired on the spot.
Kathy started out entering orders and quickly wanted to do more. With sales department supervisor Jan Anderson’s encouragement, she began assisting with larger orders and kept expanding her role as she learned new sides of the business.
Over time, the events department grew into a team of five. Lisa Reif has been Kathy’s assistant for the past 23 years and has now taken on Kathy’s role as Event Manager. “That makes it so easy for me to transition into retirement because she knows everything about the position,” Kathy says.
Lisa agrees. “Over the years, we built quite the highlight reel – event-day curveballs, travel adventures that turned into the best stories, long car rides with unexpected detours and questionable restroom stops, and airport walks that could count as cardio,” she says. “There’s a reason the Events Team started calling Kathy our ‘fearless leader’ many years ago; she led with heart, humor, and the ability to solve just about anything.”
Teresa Reilly, Program Administrator-Sales & Marketing, remembers when she came aboard 38 years ago under Kathy’s guidance. “From day one, Kathy set the standard. She greeted everyone with a sincere ‘good morning’ and a warm smile, and she carried that positivity with her every single day,” Teresa says. “Over the years, we’ve seen a lot of

changes, growth, and challenges, but one thing that never changed was Kathy’s unwavering loyalty and dedication to the Fox family and to LeMans.”
One of the events that really showcases the efforts of Kathy and the events team is the annual National Vendor Presentation, which launched in 2000 in the format that it still follows today. The NVP soon outgrew the Janesville and Madison venues, and now takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Louisville, Kentucky.
Kathy also worked with Drag’s late National Sales Manager Jim Matchette for many years. Together they developed the Drag Specialties Dealer Rides. Kathy explains, “Parts Unlimited was doing the UP 300 Ride and THOR had its RM 300 Ride. Jim said, ‘Why can’t we do a Drag Ride?’ So, we did.”
Though these rides have become extremely popular with dealers, Kathy says the first one, in 2006 in Sturgis, didn’t get the attendance that the rides get today. After that, Jim and Kathy developed a strong program and the Drag Ride has since become a must-do event, with spots filling up as soon as it’s announced. “It’s my favorite,” Kathy says.
“We always had a lot of laughs, Jim and me. [One] time, we were flying into Detroit, and we thought the plane was going to go down. The flight attendant said to remove sharp objects from our pockets and put our heads down,” Kathy says. “Jim looked at me and said, ‘Nice knowing you, Kath!’ When we landed, there were fire trucks and ambulances, it was scary… So, we had a couple of beers at Chili’s before we got on our next flight to Madison!”
Pause for a breather … After keeping things moving smoothly at the 2025 Louisville NVP, Kathy Sommervold, Lisa Reif and Teresa Reilly enjoy the
If you’ve been to an NVP or a Drag Dealer Ride, you’ve seen Kathy and the Events Team in action, and enjoyed the results of their much celebrated efforts. That’s why her retirement feels less like an ending and more like a handoff, with a seasoned team in place and long-running events built on a format that continues to work, even as venues and logistics evolve. ■

LOUISVILLE NVP PRODUCT EXPO
JUMP-STARTING A NEW YEAR OF SALES
Winter may slow riding in much of the country, but it doesn’t slow the business of getting ready for riding season. If anything, it sharpens the focus. This is the window when Parts Unlimited dealers and retailers build knowledge, tighten preseason buying plans, and get their teams ready for the first warm-weather rush.
That’s exactly what the Parts Unlimited Louisville NVP Product Expo delivered again this year. Over two packed days, January 24-25, dealers, Parts sales reps and vendors filled the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville for hands-on product discovery, targeted education and face-to-face conversations that turn new items into confident counter recommendations. Even with major late-
January snowstorms across the Southeast, the show kept its momentum and the aisles stayed busy.
With more than 300 exhibitor booths, the expo brought together a wide mix of metric parts, accessories and riding gear, plus show-only incentives designed to help dealers build smarter preseason orders. The goal is simple: give dealers clearer product stories, stronger fitment confidence and more reasons for customers to buy now instead of “thinking about it later.” Dealer attendees also received a commemorative T-shirt, and each dealership received an ICON backpack.
Education on the expo floor remained a key draw. Interactive training sessions and product-insight presentations ran throughout the day, giving dealers direct access to brand

experts and practical takeaways they can apply immediately at their stores. Participating vendor education sessions included Alpinestars, Custom Dynamics and Ravek.
In the days before the show opened, Parts Unlimited sales reps completed two days of in-depth product education from a broad group of top Parts vendors. The knowledge gained during these sessions carried onto the expo floor, where the sales team introduced new products to their dealers.
Beyond the booths and training blocks, the NVP continues to feel like an annual homecoming. Dealers reconnect with reps, vendors get real-time feedback from the people selling their products, and everyone gets a clearer read on what customers are asking for as the season approaches.
Saturday night’s Meet & Greet kept that tradition rolling at the Sports & Social Club at 4th Street Live. The food, entertainment and a Supercross Anaheim 2 watch party provided an easy setting for networking and conversation away from the show floor. Giveaways and an end-of-show drawing, including a Motocross of Nations trip for two to Ernée, France, kept the “stick around” energy high. A Saturday happy hour plus food and refreshments throughout the day helped keep the pace moving from open to close.
» Looking ahead, the next NVP Expo is scheduled for Milwaukee. Talk with your Parts Unlimited sales rep for details on attending, planning and getting the most from the education sessions and show-floor opportunities.

Each NVP Product Expo is hands-on and education-driven for Parts Unlimited dealers and sales reps alike. Along with an up-close look at the latest metric parts, accessories and riding gear, the weekend is anchored by focused vendor training that helps reps and dealers turn new products into confident recommendations. Before the show floor opens, Parts reps complete two days of first-hand product presentations, sharpening their understanding of key features, fitment and brand priorities. Once the doors open, dealers can dive deeper through on-floor training sessions with select vendors. Dennis Johnson and Todd Olson photos

TWO NOTABLE LEMANS RETIREMENTS
CONGRATULATIONS! The 2026 Louisville NVP Product Expo also marked a meaningful moment for the LeMans team with the announcement that two longtime leaders are retiring: LeMans Corporation Event Manager Kathy Sommervold and Drag Specialties head of vendor relations, Tom Motzko. Sommervold joined the company in 1982, and Motzko marked 52 years with LeMans in 2026.

Train Now. Sell Better.
PARTS UNLIMITED LAUNCHES THE LEMANS GROWTH ACADEMY
Powersports dealers carry dozens of parts and accessory brands. That means salespeople need to understand potentially hundreds of products — tires, apparel, exhaust pipes, gaskets, helmets, lubricants and much more.
Dealership sales staff are expected to know a wide range of brands, product categories and fitment details while helping customers in real time. Vendors and distributors have long relied on catalogs, emails, websites, texts, rep visits and trade shows to close the knowledge gap, but it remains a constant struggle to keep sales teams current across such a broad, fast-changing mix of products.
“The challenge we saw, with all the brands and products in the ... Parts Unlimited catalogs ... is that it’s difficult to get all that information out to the industry,” says Kurt Kaufmann, who helped Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties create the new LeMans Growth Academy. “This digital learning environment is available to sales reps and powersports dealers carrying Parts and Drag products. The Growth Academy merges training from our top brands in one spot.”
LeMans launched the Growth Academy in January at the NVP Product Expo in Louisville, Kentucky. The online training platform includes “micro learnings” — 5- to 15-minute
Launched at the Louisville NVP Product Expo, the LeMans Growth Academy gives dealers one place for quick, brandbased training that builds product knowledge, boosts confidence and helps sales teams sell on value.
training sessions on the brands themselves as well as the features and benefits of their products. “Most importantly,” notes Kaufmann, “the training focuses on how products can add value to the consumer and how dealers can position those products to maximize the sale.”
Kaufmann brings firsthand powersports experience, including work with an aftermarket product company and Drag Specialties dealers. “One of the challenges we experienced was, ‘How do we get folks to sell on overall value and not just price?’ If motorcyclists just bought on price, they would not buy our option,” he says. “If they really understood the full utility and value of the product — if they had training — it became a lot easier to justify.”
WHAT DO SALESPEOPLE SEE?
Kaufmann says the LeMans Growth Academy organizes training by product category, including apparel and helmets, exhaust and engine, tires and wheels, and suspension and braking. Users click into a category and view brand-created content delivered through the platform. The training is also structured to reflect the Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties sides of the business, helping distinguish V-Twin and metric product segments. “It’s all

based around a proprietary LMS, or learning management system,” he adds.
Vendors can create training pieces that are more foundational to their brand or more specific to the value of individual products. Both have a place in the Growth Academy library. Both types are similar to in-person training sessions held during LeMans NVP events and other opportunities. While not a complete replacement for in-person experiences, the online academy can fill gaps between events, allowing for continuous training.
Within the first three weeks of launch, 850 dealers had signed on to use the Academy. “It’s free for dealers to use, and we had more than 10,000 courses completed on the platform in the first few weeks of the program,” says Kaufmann. “LeMans shouldered most of the upfront costs.”
VENDOR VIEW
“Our sales and marketing team works on the training materials. You don’t have to be a graphic artist,” says Rob Bluma, chief sales officer at Custom Dynamics. “We can work easily through the template system with the formats provided.”
Dealership owners and managers can set up their own reporting so they can hold staff accountable for engagement and reward participation.
Kaufmann says the plan is to build out more general education courses as well, including sales and service, in-store best practices and soft-skills training. “LeMans sees this as a way to further support the industry,” he notes. “The industry sees pretty high turnover at the retail level. One thing that contributes to that is a feeling of insufficient resources or a lack of confidence as folks come from other customer service or retail sales roles.”
This presents an opportunity to help dealers build stronger sales-career paths.
Marc Wolfram, executive vice president of Ravek, a Wisconsinbased UTV accessories manufacturer, said, “We want to transition to LeMans Growth Academy as a means for us to connect with dealers.” He and the company owner visited more than 800 dealers nationwide in 2025.
That connection with dealers — both for relationships and product training — is essential to Ravek. While the new Academy doesn’t replace all those visits, Ravek leaders see it as a central hub for organized, focused education. It is also becoming a major part of the company’s marketing and training plan.
Bluma is also excited about the future the Growth Academy creates. “We need to help salespeople succeed in dealerships by providing more information. Right now, younger generations
are not sticking around,” he explains. “The more this Growth Academy expands and has data behind it, the more dealers will see success, and salespeople will have more opportunities to excel. There have been other training tools, but they have not had the follow-through like this one. The Growth Academy can help dealers by moving salespeople from ‘worker’ to ‘expert.’”
Vendors can provide rewards, swag, samples, discounts and other incentives for engaging with the training courses. Wolfram said that while Ravek does not yet have specific rewards for dealer salespeople, it plans to create incentives.
“When we heard about this at the recent NVP,” Wolfram says, “we told LeMans we were in.” He adds that the company will continue creating training and education videos specifically for this platform, based in part on the relationships they built by visiting dealers and learning what salespeople need.
Some powersports OEMs have used online training, so many dealers are already accustomed to these tools. “Folks are really excited to have this tool available in one combined environment, instead of different platforms from all the parts and accessories brands. The feedback has been positive that everything is under one roof,” Kaufmann says.
“What LeMans is seeing is the market is shifting away from just selling on price and toward selling on value,” he says. “What we’re starting to understand is the best retailers and dealers in the space are not just taking orders. They’re ultimately adding value in that customer journey.” ■

Sportbike and Sport-Touring enthusiasts already know the DIABLO name from Pirelli. This family of high-performance tires has long been a staple on both the track and street, and riders know that a Pirelli street tire stamped with the DIABLO name will have the technology, compounds and riding characteristics that inspire confidence in even the most aggressive riding situations.
The Pirelli DIABLO Powercruiser is the first Cruiser and Bagger tire from Pirelli to carry that iconic DIABLO name – and the designation is well-deserved. Riders in the CustomTouring segment may not yet be familiar with what the name represents, but each new customer who mounts a set of DIABLO Powercruiser tires quickly finds out.
The DIABLO Powercruiser brings decades of research, development and racing success to the Cruiser and Bagger market – but make no mistake, this is not a sportbike tire modified for a different set of motorcycles.
Currently, the DIABLO Powercruiser covers the main fitments for popular Cruisers and Baggers, including the Indian Scout, Honda Rebel and Yamaha XV950.
“The DIABLO Powercruiser was engineered from the ground up specifically for this segment; it’s not a reworked sportbike tire or a traditional Cruiser tire with a fresh tread pattern,” says Joseph Lee, Marketing Manager, Pirelli. “The key is how its structure responds to different riding styles. In Touring mode, it delivers a smooth, predictable ride; as riding becomes more aggressive, the tire increases feedback and lateral support proportionally.”
That versatility makes the DIABLO Powercruiser a great option for riders who enjoy sporty Touring as well as more aggressive riding. As motorcycles continue to be more capable, the tires absolutely have to keep up so riders can get the most out of their machines. This tire gives riders limit-pushing potential along with stability and longevity.
“If a rider has upgraded their suspension and brakes but is still running a conventional Cruiser tire, the tire is the weak link,” says Lee. “The DIABLO Powercruiser addresses that gap.” Pirelli engineered that performance through a specially formulated compound. The mix of resins, plasticizers and silica
Top: The DIABLO name says it all — Pirelli's new Powercruiser brings decades of racing heritage to Cruiser and Bagger riders. Right: Every zone of the DIABLO Powercruiser is engineered with purpose — firm center for stability, soft shoulders for cornering and a Flash tread pattern that clears water fast.
creates a tire with rapid warm-up and reliable grip – even in wet conditions. Thanks to Pirelli’s patented mixing process, the components are dispersed with precision to ensure the compound maintains its characteristics throughout the tire.
Pirelli Cap&Base construction further refines the blend. On radial rear sizes, the silica-enriched dual compound pairs a firmer center compound with softer shoulders. The firmer center supports even the heaviest fully loaded Touring bikes with ease, delivering long-lasting mileage and stability under heavy loads. The softer shoulders, meanwhile, allow riders to lean farther and carry more speed through corners with confidence – a performance character visible at a glance in the slick shoulder profile that would look right at home on a racebike.
Another visual cue of the DIABLO Powercruiser’s performance heritage is the multi-radius profile. The more pointed profiles of the front and rear tires allow quicker handling than a typi-
cal Cruiser tire, while the flatter shoulder area maximizes the contact patch in the corners. Responsive handling is a must for riders who want to explore the full potential of their bikes, and this is a feature that helps deliver that.
Another racing-derived technology is the 0-degree belt found in the radial sizes. This feature was developed by Pirelli to control footprint deformation across all lean angles, improving both grip and wear consistency.
“Pirelli’s development of the DIABLO Powercruiser draws directly from its Supersport and racing programs, leveraging the structural and compound expertise refined in WSBK and other world-class competition,” says Lee.
Pirelli’s iconic Flash design in the central part of the tread pattern is another hallmark of the brand’s performanceminded tires. This tread pattern is designed for excellent water evacuation, so when the roads are wet, riders can still keep going with confidence.
Two tires, one mission — the Pirelli DIABLO Powercruiser front and rear work together to bring race-proven performance to your Cruiser and Bagger customers.
Rain or shine, the Pirelli DIABLO Powercruiser's highsilica compound and Flash tread pattern keep riders moving with confidence in any condition.
The DIABLO Powercruiser was designed from the ground up specifically for Cruisers and Custom-Touring bikes, and there were a lot of models and riding styles to consider. The team at Pirelli had to come up with a tire that would suit a wide range of customers’ needs.
“The challenge is complexity,” notes Lee. “The CustomTouring segment is highly sub-segmented … all with very different bike geometries and rider expectations. That’s why size and construction diversity matter: the Powercruiser range includes both radial and conventional specifications across 15 sizes, covering the full spectrum of bikes in this market.”
Each of those sizes was individually developed in terms of structure, compound and profile to suit the specific motorcycle it’s intended for, ensuring ultimate performance for every tire in the lineup. The sizes range from 100mm to 260mm.
As the performance Cruiser and Bagger segment continues to grow, more and more riders are willing to invest in tires that can deliver the grip, handling and stability they want. While it might take a bit of education to get riders outside of the sportbike scene up to speed with the DIABLO name, those who have adopted the tire are already up to speed in a more literal sense. ■

Endurance-Built, Race-Proven
The XRE Chain Goes the Distance
Racing has always been a proving ground for real-world technology. Manufacturers push components to their limits on the track, then bring what works to the products your customers can buy.
RK Chain has followed that path for years, and the XRE is its latest example – a chain born in competition and now available on dealer floors worldwide through Parts Unlimited.
RK’s XRE chains are designed not just for professional track and off-road racing but also for general daily street/offroad use. The E in XRE stands for Endurance; highlighting the chain’s ability to handle long distances and sustained high speeds with ease.
“RK’s XRE chain … is like the Jack of all trades chain,” says RK Sales and Marketing Manager Farrah Bauer. “It can be used
for street, off-road, Adventure, ATV and racing!”
XRE series chains feature a 20 percent longer wearlife compared to previous RK model XSO series chains. XRE chains include XWSealing rings which provide two lubrication pools that help protect against high-speed abrasion and prevent dirt and debris from penetrating the inner rollers/bushings of the chain.
XRE series chains are available in 520, 525 or 530 pitch. XW-Ring chains offer excellent high-speed, extreme heat performance and are designed for a variety of environments from the street to off-road. XRE chains are a perfect balance between high tensile strength and lighter weight, while maximizing chain wearlife. This makes these chains perfect for small and mid-displacement motorcycles.
RK’s XRE chain handles asphalt, mud, rocks, and everything in between, with XW-Sealing rings and 20 percent longer wear life than its predecessor.
That performance has been validated at the highest levels of competition. The BAS World KTM Race Team took the 2026 Dakar Rally Rally2 category title running the 520XRE, while Yart Yamalube Yamaha Racing secured the 2025 World Endurance Championship on the 525XRE — two of the most demanding races in the world. Both teams are sponsored by RK and count on the company’s high-quality products.
For your customers who ride asphalt, mud, salt flats, rocks or snow, the XRE is built to handle all of it. ■

Track Tested, Road Ready
A Hypersport Tire Built for Reliability
Creating a tire that excels both on the street and the track means developing and testing it in both of those places, too. That’s exactly what Avon Tyres did with the 3D SUPERSPORT tire, which is a hypersport tire designed to feel right at home during a street ride or a track day.
The Avon 3D SUPERSPORT tire features an advanced pattern design that enhances the tire’s contact with the road. This increased footprint and smaller tread pattern ensure the tire grips the road with ease.
The rear tire has a more durable compound in the middle to increase mileage during upright riding, while the softer compound on the edges helps maintain grip and stability when cornering.
“The 3D SUPERSPORT is ideal for riders who need a tire that delivers high marks in grip, handling and stability while also providing durability and outstanding performance in wet conditions,” says Don Argento, Manager Motorcycle Sales & Marketing North America. “While this tire is designed for the hypersport street market, its pedigree is track-day inspired. The technology leans towards the aggressive side of the hypersport market and keeps up with the demands of the superbikes and sport bikes.”
By using Avon’s Silica Dual Compound technology, the 3D SUPERSPORT tire gets even more of a boost in gripping power, and it does so without compromising longevity. The silica in the compound aids chemical grip, which is especially appreciated on cold or wet days, or when tires are not yet up to temperature.
The 3D SUPERSPORT tire is designed to give a rider handling, stability and feedback, but at the same time, Avon recognizes the need for a tire that can go the distance.
In all, the track-developed construction, Silica Dual Compound technology and advanced pattern design combine to give riders confidence, whether they are on the street or the track. This is a tire that a track day enthusiast can use to get to the track, then roll right out to start making laps. Although the 3D SUPERSPORT was designed for riders who mostly stick to street riding, it was extensively tested on the track to make sure it provides the reliable performance those aggressive riding conditions require.
The 3D SUPERSPORT tire is available in six sizes, including one front and five rear options. This lineup includes two rear sizes that are brand new to Avon Tyres in the hypersport segment, a 180/60ZR17 and 200/55ZR17, to accommodate an even wider range of bikes. ■

The Avon 3D SUPERSPORT is tracktested and street-ready, with Silica Dual Compound technology that delivers grip, handling, and durability in six sizes.
PERFORM
Designed to deliver nothing less than extreme grip, Avon 3D Supersports give you the best possible road contact – which means the best possible handling, the best possible stability and the best possible feedback from the road. Built to last, they’ll give you the freedom to test your limits – and go beyond.
BUILT TO STAND OUT PARTS UNLIMITED DEALER
MIDWEST PERFORMANCE & POWER: KEOKUK, IOWA
When Jason Smith was a child waiting for his mom in the grocery store, he would obsessively scan through the powersports magazines on the racks, quietly coveting the ATVs and motorcycles contained within. However, his parents didn’t support his passion, instead pointing him toward sporting ambitions.
That obsession never faded – it just found an outlet. In 2013, a year after taking over Midwest Performance & Power in Keokuk, Iowa, Jason landed on the cover of Dirt Wheels – the same magazine he’d pored over as a boy. Since then, he’s appeared on covers and in features across the off-road media world and earned recognition from Can-Am itself.
“I studied those magazines religiously, doing builds in my head from all of the parts ads,” says Jason. “It was like, ‘If I had a Banshee, I’d get this off of page 57 and then this off page 23.’ So, it was my dream.”
The dream stayed with him – and in 2010, it finally came calling.
“I was working in the car business, and during a late night in the office I was just burned out and thought to myself ‘If I could do anything else in the world, what would I want to do?’ Jason says. “So I Googled ‘powersports dealers for sale in Iowa.’ Well, Midwest Performance & Power was listed, but under a different name in a different town because the owner didn’t want anyone to know he was going to retire.
“I enquired, signed an NDA, and that’s when the owner told me that, if I was in the area, I’d probably be familiar with his business Midwest Performance & Power. It was at that point that I knew I’d have to pursue this in any way possible.”
The person behind that listing was Richard Johnson, who opened a dealership called Cycle Clinic in 1981. After adding a Honda franchise in June 1983, he renamed it Midwest Performance & Power, then expanded with Yamaha in 1988 and Can-Am/Sea-Doo in 2007.
Thanks to its work with Can-Am, Jason Smith and the Midwest team got ahold of one of the first Maverick X3 models and got to work. The resulting high-horsepower build made it into the June 2017 issue of Dirt Wheels magazine.

“A buy-out is a big deal that takes a long time, especially when you’re 27 and have nothing to your name, so I actually first came to work here undercover as the service manager while Richard and I worked out all of the details,” Jason explains. “That turned out to be an incredible opportunity, because I got to see how all of the employees were when the boss wasn’t around.
“I worked here about a year and a half before the night finally came where we told everybody. I’ll never forget the look on their faces.”
Jason officially took over the dealership on October 5, 2012.
THE BUSINESS
Keokuk, Iowa, is a community of 9,500 residents nestled along the Mississippi River within an agricultural area in the very corner of southeast Iowa, nearest to northeast Missouri and western Illinois.
Today, Midwest Performance & Power retails Can-Am/ Sea-Doo, Honda, Sherco and Yamaha from an 8,000 sq. ft. recently-refurbished facility. The dealership is among the top Can-Am Defender sellers in the nation.
“We’re 90 percent or more UTV and ATV,” Jason says. “And, based on the Mississippi’s flood levels, we could sell six Sea-Doos a summer or 30 Sea-Doos a summer.”
As the market shifted, Midwest Performance & Power leaned into what it does best – side-by-sides, particularly enclosed units. Custom work drives that business, and Jason says the numbers bear it out: of every 10 units sold, nine leave the lot with a cab and air conditioning.
“We do a lot of the sport stuff, too, which is kind of weird for a farm community, but that’s a part of the business that mostly stems from some of the custom magazine stuff where we’ve done a lot of high-end, really fast units,”
he notes. “I have always said, ‘If an OEM came out with a sport unit that had HVAC, they would own the market’.”
Despite the agricultural surroundings, Jason’s customers aren’t who you might expect.
“Everybody thinks farmers are buying these for work, but more often than not they’re buying them as toys,” Jason says. “I’d say one out of 10 are actually buying them for chores on the farm.”
Yes, even in the heart of the ag community, Midwest’s customers – most of whom are 40 and older – are turning their attention to performance upgrades like custom tunes, clutches, turbo kits and reservoir shock suspensions.
That enthusiasm shapes how Jason runs his business and how he thinks about competing in today’s market. The proof is not only on his sales floor – it’s in his parts and accessories business.

Left and above: It's easy to see what's available at Midwest Performance & Power thanks to the outdoor and inside vehicle displays.
“I would rather sell tangibles. Instead of selling somebody an extended warranty, I would rather them have a cool set of tires and wheels or a stereo,” he say. “Something that actually adds value, has a cool factor, and isn’t price competing against the exact same machine.”
Along with those parts and accessories upgrades, Midwest is also custom painting some of the machines – just doing cool stuff to really set them apart. It’s an approach that works.
“I have some machines sitting out there right now with probably $15,000 to $20,000 in custom add-ons and they’ll sell quicker than the stock ones,” he says. “We have to remember that these are toys for people. You have to make it fun and exciting and cool for them.”
Midwest Performance & Power regularly has 45 to 50 vehicles on the sales floor and an additional 30-35 outside. Jason recently bought a neighboring property to serve as an outdoor showroom that’ll have vehicles on rocks and ramps. The business runs approximately 60 percent sales versus 40 percent service.
The recently refurbished service department runs four designated bays – one per tech – with room for moveable two-post lifts. Spring is the department’s busiest season, when customers drag machines out of storage and the ticket count climbs fast. Jason keeps a close eye on turnaround time and gets uncomfortable with anything sitting longer than two weeks.
That service culture is reflected in the staff. Only one employee left when Jason took over in 2012 – the remaining nine are all long-timers. Richard’s brother Bob Johnson has been there since the doors opened and has built enough of a following that customers specifically request him by name, “Goldwing Bob.”
It was a childhood dream of building highly modified off-road machines that set Jason on this path. But ask him what’s kept Midwest Performance & Power going for more than 40 years and his answer is straightforward – “Oldschool customer service and The Lord’s Blessing,” he says.
COVER WORTHY
The builds that would define Midwest Performance & Power’s reputation started simply enough.
“When I bought the store from Richard, it really was just a utility store. So, when I initially started working here, I brought in a Can-Am Renegade that Richard was insistent I’d never be able to sell in this area,” Jason says, adding that he grew up around the mud scene in southern Arkansas and thought some of those mods would catch someone’s eye. “I put a set of 30-inch tires and a set of snorkels on it and it blew people’s minds up here. Before long, a farmer’s kid bought it.”
That first build planted a seed. About a year in, Jason ordered another Renegade with bigger ambitions – a full magazine build loaded with suspension work, motor upgrades, nitrous and custom paint. He sent photos to Dirt Wheels and editor Cain Smead came calling.
“A couple of months later, a friend texted me a picture of my machine on the cover of Dirt Wheels and it was such an awesome feeling,” he says. “Things just kind of snowballed from there. A guy called from North Carolina, said he saw the unit in the magazine, and he wanted me to build him one exactly like it.”
Those builds attracted the attention of the people at CanAm, who started sending him some early-release stuff to build up. For instance, when the X3s came out, there were only three of them in North America, two were given to race teams and the third was in his shop.
Left: Midwest Performance & Power’s sales floor reflects Jason Smith’s customer-first approach, with UTVs that are fun, customized and built to stand out. Above: A wall of magazine clippings tells the story of Jason Smith and Midwest Performance & Power’s custom builds, showcasing the creativity, craftsmanship and industry recognition behind the dealership’s work.
The ambitions kept growing to match the reputation.
“Then, a couple of years ago, I decided that I wanted to build the world’s fastest side-by-side while my mechanics were insistent that I build the biggest mud machine anyone has ever seen. So, I took two Can-Am X3s and built the world’s fastest and the world’s biggest.”
Seven magazine covers and countless features later and Jason Smith is still building.
PARTS AS A PARTNER
Behind every great dealership is a network that has its back, and for Midwest Performance & Power, its starts with Parts Unlimited.
“I’ve always faithfully looked to Parts Unlimited first, and it’s because of the relationship aspect of it,” Jason says. “It goes back to our old rep Carl Magnussen, who would come in and tell me ‘Hey, there’s this program, but it’s not right for you. You don’t need to do that, but here’s what you should do,’” Jason says. “He actually cared about what was best for our business rather than tell us to order 300 new batteries just to save 10 percent.
“Over the years I met other people, like Rob Oliva, and just built real relationships with real people. So, it’s all about people who support my business that I then in turn want to support.”
Above left: A well-stocked helmet wall gives Midwest customers a strong mix of on-road and off-road options, with Parts Unlimited helping supply the selection, fit and protection riders need. Above: A well-stocked parts department helps Midwest stay ready with the products and inventory customers need every day.
Parts Unlimited National Sales Manager Rob Oliva has seen that dynamic firsthand.
“I met Jason and his wife on a Parts Unlimited dealer ride in Brimstone, Tennessee,” Oliva says. “He had a super cool Can Am X3 and spent a good portion of his time helping others overcome challenges. He saved the day for many others, and did it with a smile, making tough situations a ton of fun, and built a tremendous amount of camaraderie among those he helped and rode with.”
Oliva says the relationship has grown well beyond business – and that the experience is a reminder of what makes the industry special. “Spending time with dealers like Jason and his team at Midwest reminds us of just how lucky we are to make our living among such a great group of people,” Oliva says. “We have continued to remain friends ever since, and I still look forward to any opportunity to call or visit his store or attend an event with his team.”
Today, Midwest Performance & Power is served by Parts Unlimited sales representative Dillon Heinsius.
“Jason and his team at Midwest Performance are true powersports enthusiasts,” Heinsius says. “They have always been at the forefront of the latest trends and products in the industry.”
But don’t take our word for it. If you’re ever near Keokuk, Iowa, stop in, introduce yourself to Jason, grab a bag of the shop’s sought-after popcorn and see what’s on the floor.

Built for Adventure
New Riding Essentials Built for the Trail
Riding season doesn’t care about state lines or weather forecasts. Across the country, riders are twisting the throttle on everything from competition machines to Dual-Sport bikes to full Adventure rigs – and THOR has the gear to keep up.
“Riding season is upon us,” says Josh Shorter, THOR’s Global Brand Director. “I think for everyone in the U.S., either coming out of the cold weather or logging miles before things warm up too
much, people are just out there twisting the throttle. For THOR, it’s great because we do offer our Terrain pieces for the enduro-oriented riders and Range for the ADV set, but we’ve also got some essential pieces that can come as a second thought for riders.
“Our new Tracker Vest is a top-notch piece for on-rider packing and hydration, while our Pack Jackets and Blitz XR Trail and XRS shorty boots are products that really enhance the ride for adventurous types.”
From the Tracker Vest to the Pack Jacket and Blitz boots, THOR’s Adventure-ready gear is built to go wherever the ride leads.
THOR launched its off-road-tailored Terrain line and adventure-ready Range line in 2025, giving riders tackling the great outdoors modern gear designed for the com fort, functionality and durability they need. Purpose-built equipment like this can elevate off-road experiences –and the right complementary essentials can take them even further.
Dual-Sport and Adventure rides mean seat time – a lot more than a typical day at the track. That means belongings and supplies need to go with the rider, from water and snacks to phones and wallets to tools and repair kits. There’s no shortage of hydration and storage pack options on the market, but most share one common design approach; they’re built like backpacks.
THOR’s Tracker Vest takes a different approach. It’s a vest designed for an ergonomic fit that stores and organizes everything a rider needs to pack for the trail.
Available in Sand and Black, Tracker Vests are constructed from ultra-durable polyester and ripstop material built to handle whatever the trail throws at it – brush, roost, mud, sun or rain. Each vest comes with a 3-liter water bladder and bite valve for long days in the saddle.
The fine details are the true selling points: a removable tool pack, mesh ventilation, fleece-lined pockets for elec tronics and reflective panels for visibility. From day trips to weeklong journeys, the Tracker Vest belongs on the short list of gear riders shouldn’t hit the trail without.
THOR’s Pack Jacket earns a spot on that list too. It packs into its own built-in pouch, which riders can wear around their waist until conditions call for an extra layer. A water-resistant shell, taped seams and sealed zippers keep rain and moisture out, while rear exhaust vents let heat escape when the sun returns. Rider-focused details round out the package – storage pockets, adjustable waist and cuffs, and comfort liners.
Then there are the boots. The Blitz XR Trail and Blitz XRS LTD are built to deliver real advantages on the trail. From sole to shin plate, THOR combined thoughtful design, durable materials and proven construction techniques to produce boots that prioritize both durability and comfort – steel reinforcement, injection molding, abrasion plates and full adjustability, all at a price point that works for your customers.
The primary difference between the two comes down to coverage. The Blitz XR Trail provides shin-high coverage similar to a motocross boot, while the Blitz XRS LTD – the shorty boot – sits just above the ankle for riders who want additional mobility and comfort. ■
» Like the rest of THOR’s lineup, all of these pieces are available in a wide range of sizes. Talk with your Parts rep for details or see the full line in the Helmet & Apparel and THOR catalogs, and at www.parts-unlimited.com.
Compact enough to pack into its own built-in pouch, THOR’s Pack Jacket is ready when the weather turns. It’s water-resistant and rider-focused.
Built for the long haul, THOR’s Tracker Vest keeps riders organized and hydrated – with a 3-liter bladder, tool pack and mesh ventilation.
From shin-high Trail coverage to shorty XRS mobility, THOR’s Blitz boots deliver durability and comfort for every mile on the trail.

A Versatile New Adventure-Touring Tire
Adventure riders who primarily ride on paved roads, but also want reliable off-road capabilities, can turn to the latest tire from Mitas. The ENDURO TRAIL-ADV2 is a 70 percent on-road, 30 percent off-road Adventure tire that is designed for performance and confidence in both worlds.
The ENDURO TRAIL-ADV2 is inspired by the more aggressive ENDURO TRAIL+, a 60/40 tire. By adjusting that split to 70/30, Adventure-Touring riders can take advantage of the improved on-road characteristics. The ENDURO TRAILADV2 is specifically aimed at Adventure riders who enjoy long rides on a variety of terrain.
need when riding upright and the grip that’s required for the corners. Plus, MCTT ensures predictable performance in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Another feature of the ENDURO TRAIL-ADV2’s compounds is a high silica content. This chemical grip is especially beneficial for maintaining traction on wet or slippery surfaces.
Traction also gets a boost from the chevron tread pattern, which provides a self-cleaning function when riding on uneven or loose terrain. While this aspect makes the tread great during off-road riding, the chevron tread pattern is also
The new Mitas ENDURO TRAIL-ADV2 is engineered for your Adventure riding customers who want highway confidence and off-road capability, all in one tire.

designed for excellent stability while riding on paved roads. The carcass design of the ENDURO TRAIL-ADV 2 tire further adds to high-speed stability and comfort.
With this list of features, it’s easy to see why the ENDURO TRAIL-ADV 2 is a solid choice for long-distance Touring riders who need stability at highway speeds as well as traction in off-road scenarios. Plus, a tire with this kind of wet-weather performance can provide the kind of versatility required by commuters or mixed-use riders who know that the riding doesn’t stop just because the weather changes. ■

One Helmet, More Riding
The RPHA 60 is Built for Street and Trail
WThe RPHA 60’s premium construction, ventilation and rider-focused design give Dual-Sport riders the comfort, fit and coverage they want for long days on pavement, dirt and everything in between.
hether it’s a day of local riding or a longhaul adventure both on the road and off of it, a Dual-Sport rider wants a helmet that provides comfort and confidence in every scenario. The new RPHA 60 from HJC is a premium DualSport helmet packed with high-end features designed for both the pavement and the trail.
Customers familiar with HJC’s RPHA line already know the name is associated with premium design elements and materials along with the latest in helmet technology. The RPHA 60 Dual-Sport helmet is right at home in this toptier helmet lineup, sitting alongside models like the RPHA 1 full-face and RPHA 91 modular helmets.
When it comes to designing a premium Dual-Sport helmet like the RPHA 60, the team at HJC had a lot more factors to consider than a helmet that’s designed for one specific type of riding. If a Dual-Sport rider can go anywhere, then their helmet has to be able to do the same.
“We recognize that Dual-Sport riders often split their time between on-road and off-road conditions,” says George Hong, President, HJC America. “For this reason, we design and test the helmet for versatility. For example, many riders prefer to use the helmet without a visor on the road. In
these cases, we evaluate wind resistance, noise levels and stability at various speeds to ensure a smooth, comfortable ride.”
The RPHA 60 starts with HJC’s Premium Integrated Matrix EVO (PIM EVO) construction. PIM EVO is a highperformance material infused with epoxy resin and fiber tissue, and this unique process results in a helmet that is lightweight yet durable.
The shell of the RPHA 60 is designed with both on-road and off-road comfort in mind. The peak visor has an aerodynamic shape that adds stability at high speeds, making it great for the highway. At the same time, the peak visor is a hallmark of off-road helmets, providing that mix of shade and additional coverage for a rider’s face. It can be removed easily, with no tools required, for even more versatility.
The shape of the RPHA 60 minimizes drag and buffeting, even at high speeds, to increase comfort and rider control. HJC developed the aerodynamic shape of the RPHA 60 through testing in its in-house wind tunnel, but that wasn’t the only step of the process. Real-world testing was a must, too.
As Hong explains, “We rigorously test the helmet in offroad environments, assessing how the visor performs, its
Built for Adventure and Dual-Sport riding, the RPHA 60 delivers rider-focused comfort, ventilation and coverage to help keep riders confident on the trail and comfortable through changing conditions.
position, length and coverage to ensure it offers optimal protection from impacts, debris and sunlight. By simulating real-world off-road conditions, we make sure the helmet maintains functionality without compromising comfort.”
In addition to the removable peak visor, another place where riders can customize the RPHA 60 helmet is the interior. The moisture-wicking comfort liner is removable, which is great when the components need a wash, but it also lets the rider swap out the cheek pads for a different size to get the perfect fit.
The shell and interior of the helmet combine to reduce noise, as well. By dialing down the wind and road noise, riders enjoy a quieter, more focused ride. Not only does that make the ride more enjoyable, but it helps reduce mental fatigue, too.
Up front, the visor provides maximum UV protection while an internal sun visor drops down to keep the road ahead from being too bright. The internal visor can be easily adjusted, even with gloves on. Airflow is provided by the three intake vents and four exhaust ports that help keep things cool and dry inside the helmet.
Since riders like to stay connected, the RPHA 60 comes ready to accept the SMART HJC 11B, 21B or 50B Bluetooth
systems. By considering that in the design, getting a Bluetooth system installed inside the helmet is convenient and easy.
In addition to its long list of features, the RPHA 60 also has the safety ratings riders expect in an HJC helmet since it meets or exceeds the latest safety standards. Plus, the technology and materials used in the shell combined with the internal impact-absorbing materials are designed to give riders confidence both on-road and off.
Another safety-focused feature is the built-in emergency pull tab for quick helmet removal in critical situations.
“When our engineers design the Dual-Sport helmet, their primary focus is on meeting the real needs of riders and delivering an experience that truly satisfies them,” says Hong. “In short, the RPHA 60 is built for riders who want one helmet that seamlessly transitions between street and trail without compromising comfort, protection or performance.” ■

The venting can be fine-tuned to allow just the right amount of airflow. And, if the weather turns cool or wet on short notice, a quick-seal closure design seals things up in just seconds.
If the weather gets particularly wet or windy, that’s where the removable Drystar Waterproof System comes to the rescue. This waterproof layer usually serves as a liner inside the Cusco Drystar jacket, but it can also be worn over the jacket to serve as the first layer of defense against the weather. While the Drystar liner is waterproof, it is also breathable, so moisture escapes to ensure comfort for the rider. When the liner isn’t needed, it can be stowed in the jacket’s integrated carrying pouch.
ripstop and 600D polyfabric, which provides durability without bulk thanks to its abrasion resistance. Meanwhile, the soft stretch panels under the arms improve both flexibility and comfort, especially in a riding position.
When the weather gets hot, a rider can unzip the large vent panels on the chest and back of the jacket, and the panels tuck neatly away to provide maximum airflow. There are also long zippered arm vents to further keep the rider cool and comfortable.
“The Cusco Drystar jacket and pant stand out in the Alpinestars All Terra lineup,” notes Brent Jaswinski, Sales Communications Manager for Alpinestars. “Though positioned in the middle of the range, their highend construction, CE Level 2 protection and AA certification combine to deliver incredible performance and value at their price point.”
Designed with Adventure riders in mind, the Cusco Drystar jacket provides comfort in a riding position as well as off the bike. The hemline is shaped to move with the body, and the tailored silhouette avoids bulk and excess weight. Sleeve and waist adjusters make sure the fit is just right for every rider, and adjustment at the neck controls how much wind flows inside.

“The LT3 gives riders a compact, premium tank bag with the convenience of our quick release tank ring system, while the LR4 tail bag delivers the versatility and expandable storage riders need for everything from daily use to longer adventures,” says SW-Motech’s U.S. Country Manager, David Zemla.
For riders needing more carrying capacity, the new Legend Gear LR4 tail bag rounds out the lineup with a size suited for everything from daily commuting to extended day trips to multi-day tours. Standard volume is 18 liters, expandable to 25 liters.
Built from the same matte black Eco-Tech polyester fabric as the LT3, the LR4 features a universal shape with a slightly curved, non-slip underbody compatible with naked bikes, touring machines and travel enduros alike.
An overlapping lid design provides quick access at all times, four loop straps offer a customizable fit, zippered outer pockets add carrying capacity, and a waterproof inner bag keeps contents protected. A MOLLE system allows for additional carrying options, and like the LT3, the LR4 features laminated belt buckles, imitation leather zipper pulls and the reflective SW-Motech bull logo. ■

The Peak of Performance One Helmet for Every Terrain
Arai Helmets marketing manager Jeff Weil says the company’s singular focus has always been rider protection — full stop.
To make that goal a reality, Arai helmets feature an egg-shaped shell to deliver the best glancing-off performance. A vital characteristic of the Arai XD-5 helmet is its ability to glance off the energy of an impact. Arai’s strong, smooth shell and signature Egg-Shaped Form are designed to enhance glancing off performance, helping to deflect impact energy and potentially reduce forces transmitted to the rider’s head.
“Arai invests considerable time and resources to produce helmets with a strong, organic egg-shaped form,” Weil says. Arai has worked for many decades to improve rider protection. With this shape as its foundation, the company created the XD-5 with features to serve Adventure and Dual-Sport motorcyclists.
Riders can configure the XD-5 helmet to the environment they’re riding in and the style they prefer. Off-road riders can remove the helmet’s face shield and wear goggles below the helmet peak. For street use, riders can remove the peak and opt for just the shield. And when conditions vary, they can use the shield and peak together.
The peak is also adjustable. Riders can raise or lower it to reduce sun glare, block roost from another rider, or manage airflow off the bike’s windscreen.
The XD-5’s shield changing mechanism is managed with just two buttons, and customers can remove the shield without tools. It’s all part of Arai’s Variable Axis Shield system. And it works within Arai’s egg-shaped form design to help glance off impact energy.
The XD-5 delivers maximum ventilation in the forehead, a high-pressure area of the helmet. A unique Arai logo-vent at the front drives air directly to a rider’s forehead to keep the head cool.
“The XD-5 helmet is way easier to set up with communication systems,” Weil says. “Riders wear comms all the time today.” Arai designed the helmet for communication components; it added pockets for speakers, space for wiring in the neck roll, and smooth surfaces for attaching devices.
If riders need extra room on the sides or more room front to back, the XD5 offers multiple adjustment possibilities, along with a 5mm adjustment for the cheek pads. And its cheek pads can be released easily in an emergency. ■

Modular Accessories for Every Adventure Rider
Picture this: a wide-open road with thunderstorms in the distance. The group has miles to cover before the next destination. A quick glance down confirms the navigation route on the handlebar-mounted, charging phone – then a sip of water from a secured drink holder. “We are going to get a little wet,” someone comments. It starts to rain, but no one is worried. Their belongings are locked inside waterproof luggage.
These bikes have been dialed in with Adventure-ready accessories – and it’s all possible through a single source. Whether adding accessories to showroom floor bikes or helping customers build out after the fact, Ciro has developed a modular, adaptable family of accessories that enhance comfort, convenience and control.
Ciro’s adaptable ball mount system keeps phones charged and drinks within reach, giving Adventure riders the control and convenience they need without ever leaving the saddle.
Built for the long haul, Ciro’s DRYFORCE roll-top bags, duffels and coolers keep gear dry and secure – so your customers can ride through whatever the sky throws at them.
“The common goals behind every accessory we develop are safety, versatility, convenience and functionality, which leads us to creating high quality products for riders,” says Shawn Anderson, Ciro’s marketing coordinator. “As core riders ourselves, we constantly come up with new ideas to develop and refine our products to enhance the riding experience for fellow riders and the selling opportunity for the dealer.”
Ciro’s ball mount design is the foundation for an ecosystem of accessories including drink holders and phone mounts. From bar clamp mounts to universal mirror mounts and more, customers can adapt and interchange Ciro accessories to build a riding cockpit that works best for them.
This is particularly valuable when Adventure riding is on the docket and riders need versatility across highway touring and off-road exploring. Phones top the pack list –they’re riders’ direct connection to family, community and the details of their journey. Ciro’s phone mount options keep devices secure, functional and accessible, including the Cybercharger® wireless charging mount and nonpowered options like the Constrictor®.
Ciro’s drink holders attach to the same adaptable ball mount and securely hold just about any bottle, can or tumbler. The unique inverse barrel shape and flexibleyet-sturdy material dampens vibration and keeps drinks locked in across varying terrain.
With phones and drinks within reach, riders need a safe and convenient place for everything else. That’s where Ciro’s DRYFORCE® waterproof luggage line comes in. From universal coolers to roll-top bags and duffels, each piece is engineered with heavy-duty weatherproof materials, zippers and mounting points. Add the lash strap kit for a secure hold and quick-release removal – riders can bring whatever they need without worry. ■

Standing Guard
Adventure Accessories for Extra Protection
When it’s time to prep for the trail, Moose Offroad has the accessories Adventure riders need to protect themselves, their bike and their luggage.
Among the Adventure-ready accessories from Moose Offroad are two versions of a skid plate. The Pro skid plate and Pro Linkage Guard skid plate are both constructed from a high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This material is a technical plastic that flexes instead of snapping, and it weighs significantly less than a metal skid plate to give a performance advantage. Plus, no metal means no rattling or noise.
The Pro skid plate, at 6mm thick, is up to 40 percent lighter than a traditional 4mm aluminum version. This is a smaller skid plate that is compact and lightweight, providing coverage in critical areas for the engine.
Riders who want to cover even more of their bike can opt for the Pro Linkage Guard skid plate. This version covers the shift linkage, too, and it’s thicker, measuring 8mm thick for an even more durable layer of coverage.
The skid plates are just one step in getting an Adventure bike set up for an excursion, and the team at Moose Offroad takes pride in being able to give riders and dealers alike convenience and quality.
“The Moose Offroad team works hard to ensure customers have one convenient location for high-quality ADV replacement parts and accessories,” says Craig Ransavage, Product Development, Moose Offroad.
Available in 26-, 40- and 60-liter sizes, Moose Offroad’s ADV1 Dry Trail Pack keeps gear dry with heavy-duty waterproof tarpaulin construction.
Adventure riding requires more than keeping the bike well-guarded against the hazards of riding off-road. Moose also offers its Adventure windscreens and Voyager Adventure handguards to keep the rider comfortable and covered.
The Adventure windscreens are available in varying heights, including a shorty version for select models. The aircraftquality acrylic screens are more rigid and optically clearer than their OEM counterparts.
The handguards mount directly to the handlebars and have adjustability to dial in just the right angle for a rider’s hands. In addition, there are vent louvers that can be adjusted to let air flow over the hands on hot days.
When it comes to making sure belongings stay secure and safe from the elements, Moose Offroad offers a variety of luggage options to suit every setup. The ADV1 Dry Trail Pack is offered in sizes of 26, 40 and 60 liters, and the heavy-duty waterproof tarpaulin keeps contents dry. The ADV1 dry saddlebags – in 20-liter and 30-liter sizes –Trail Packs and Backpack are made from the same sturdy material and are ideal for mixing and matching. ■

Slip Into High Performance Exhausts for Adventure Bikes
Slip-on mufflers for Adventure and Dual-Sport bikes face tough tests. Few motorcycles put components through such rigorous conditions and owners of these bikes demand the most from aftermarket products. They want light weight, high performance, durability and stylish appeal that can add to their motorcycle’s range of component add-ons.
LeoVince is up to the challenge for Adventure bike riders. The manufacturer has proven it can add value to the riding lifestyles of sportbike riders and racers, and it’s *(EMIS Code 4) LV-14 exhaust silencers deliver similar value for Adventure and Dual-Sport pilots.
“We design the LV-14 silencers specifically for modern Adventure bikes,” said Roberto Morone, CEO of LeoVince. “The component’s large and functional body improves exhaust flow and engine performance. We design these silencers for high durability and thermal resistance for the long-distance and varied riding conditions that Adventure riders enjoy.”
Into the LV-14 silencer, LeoVince has built sound-absorbing materials that have high thermal resistance. Their TIG welds are handcrafted by experienced technicians, so riders have confidence in their strength and reliability.
Each silencer’s asymmetrically cut end-cap is fabricated by hand with carbon fiber that uses a 2x2 weave and a special heat-resistant resin. The manufacturer then treats the end-cap with a matte clear coating which adds protection from UV rays.
To emphasize the clean lines and asymmetrical cuts, LeoVince complements the silencer with a frame-mounting bracket made of laser-machined stainless steel or carbon fiber, depending on the model. The brackets are engineered for mechanical strength and weight reduction.
The LV-14’s long-term durability and reliability are as important as performance is to the design. “These riders put their motorcycles through demanding riding conditions,” said Morone. “We focus on high-quality construction and carefully selected materials. Each exhaust is specifically designed for the individual motorcycle model, from BWM to Honda to Yamaha and more.”
Style-wise, LeoVince infuses the LV-14 silencers with its modern and distinctive design in three finishes – stainless steel, Black Edition and Titanium. The final sound package is recognizable to those who know LeoVince and its deep and aggressive exhaust tones.
LeoVince’s LV-14 silencers give Adventure and Dual-Sport riders lighter weight, improved flow, durable construction and distinctive style, with model-specific fitment built for long-distance miles and demanding terrain.
LeoVince’s LV-14 exhaust products represent the manufacturer’s 70 years of technical and stylistic innovation. That shows up in the unique shapes, the state-of-the-art materials, and most importantly, the performance and riding experience. ■

A Modular Tank Bag
ustomers can customize their motorcycles, so why not their tank bags, too? Nelson-Rigg’s new Grand Adventure tank bag includes three optional accessories that mount via the bag’s MOLLE panel top lid. Riders can opt for the bag alone, or mix-and-match accessories to get the perfect tank bag setup.
The expandable Grand Adventure tank bag includes a top zippered level for smaller items, then a larger main compartment. The design was inspired by customers who gave feedback that helped guide the development of this newest piece. A universal strap system and a waterproof rain cover are part of the package, too, and the shape of the bag fits most Adventure and Dual-Sport bikes.
The three accessories, sold separately, include a map panel, a pocket and a two-pack of pods, which are smaller versions of the pocket. Since they can all be used together or separately, riders can go minimal or go big. And, because all three accessories have MOLLE panels, they can be used with any other bag or item that also has a MOLLE panel, making them even more versatile.
Mix-and-match MOLLE-compatible accessories let your customers customize this expandable Adventure and Dual-Sport tank bag to fit their exact riding needs.
“We’ve developed an opportunity for a rider to customize something, just like when we played with LEGOs as kids and connected pieces together, to make it what we want for each person’s riding needs,” says Nelson-Rigg’s Deb Drinan.
Like all Nelson-Rigg luggage, the bag includes the company’s lifetime warranty. ■

UTV Products for a Tailored Ride
Whether a UTV is being used for work or play, setting it up with the right accessories is a must. From more storage to brighter lights, Moose Offroad has the solution. And, after all that work or play is done, it’s important to get a vehicle cleaned up and ready for the next ride.
Moose Offroad has tailgate extensions for a variety of UTV models, allowing riders to haul more without worrying about anything falling out of the back. These tailgate extensions are constructed from a sturdy 12-gauge steel that is then powder coated to provide even more of a barrier against the elements.
The tailgate extension is designed with slots and holes that allow for a variety of attachment points, meaning a rider can organize everything efficiently and securely. Tools, coolers and cargo can all find a home with this setup, and the extension comes with all necessary mounting hardware.
The UTV spot beam lights from Moose Offroad are “whipless whip lights” that provide an outstanding bright punch of light, whether they’re shining down the trail, at a work site or up in the sky to act as a beacon. These multifunction lights serve as a spotlight, floodlight and signal light. There are four different colors to choose from; blue, green, red and white.
Each light is housed in a body constructed from CNCmachined aluminum and 304 stainless steel. The glass has an anti-UV coating, and the waterproof IP65 rating means these lights can stand up to the weather and the terrain.
After the riding is done, it’s time to get things cleaned up. Moose Offroad’s high-pressure foam cannon attaches directly to most pressure washer trigger sprayers, making it easy to spray a thick layer of clinging foam. Just add the concentrated washing solution to the cannon and start washing. The cleaning agent is automatically transformed into a foam.
The cannon has an adjustable spray pattern, ranging from a focused jet stream to a wide 90-degree fan. The brass components and durable HDPE bottle combine to create a long-lasting foam cannon.
“Dealers have learned they can trust Moose Offroad to provide a full lineup of practical, quality parts and products for ATVs and UTVs,” says Moose Offroad General Manager Jared Krueger. “Whether it’s customizing a vehicle or getting it cleaned up and ready to go, we give riders confidence and plenty of choices.” ■

Anytime, Anywhere A Helmet for Every Kind of Riding
One of the best parts of powersports is just how many possibilities there are for how and where we ride. Plenty of street riders also have an offroad bike, or an Adventure rider has an E-bike waiting to be ridden. Whatever the vehicle or the terrain, the ICON Elsinore helmet is designed to fit right in.
The Elsinore helmet isn’t something that can be put into one category. It’s part motocross helmet, part fullface sportbike lid and even classic open-face cruiser helmet. And that versatility is entirely the point.
“The Elsinore was born from the idea that riders don’t stay in one lane. One day you’re carving pavement, the next you’re exploring dirt roads, cruising an ATV trail or heading out on an all-day Adventure ride,” says ICON Senior Designer John Whitaker. “Most helmets force you to choose a discipline. The Elsinore gives you the freedom to change with the ride.”
In its stripped-down configuration, the Elsinore helmet is an open-face option. Add the removable face mask and integrated MXShield, and it takes on a full-face look. At the same time, though, that front part can be lifted up when a break or some airflow are in order, giving the helmet modular functionality. Up top, the removable visor adds to the Elsinore’s motocross DNA.
“At its core, the Elsinore is a tribute to the way many [modern] riders started – bunny-hops, quarterpipes and the freedom of two wheels,” notes Whitaker. “Today, it carries that same spirit forward with modern construction and adaptability.”
All of these possibilities mean the Elsinore can move from the city streets to a long-distance Adventure ride or even to the dirt track. Plus, the style is a great option for E-bike enthusiasts looking for a lightweight, comfortable lid.
These features are built on top of a handcrafted composite fiberglass shell, which keeps weight low while maintaining strength. There are eight intake vents up front and dual exhaust ports at the rear, so air flows easily through the EPS liner to keep things cool.
Inside the Elsinore, the Hydradry and Ax Suede liner provides maximum comfort and wicks away moisture.
In addition to the different looks that can be achieved with the visor, face mask and MXShield, the Elsinore also comes in a variety of colors and graphics options to let riders express themselves even further. There are graphics that take their inspiration from BMX and motocross looks, classic ICON street-style skulls and monochrome designs for riders who like to keep things low-key. ■

Friction That Never Quits Complete Brake Systems for Any Terrain
Whether suiting up for a quick Dual-Sport ride or prepping for a multi-day Adventure trip, off-road riders can’t predict what’s ahead – but they should always know what to expect from their braking components. Brake pads, rotors and brake lines from GBrakes work together to deliver consistent performance across a range of riding styles and conditions.
The team at GBrakes developed its off-road component philosophy around a simple goal: provide dirtbike preci-
sion with Dual Sport durability. Every component in the lineup was designed with unpredictable terrain and weather in mind. From rocky climbs to muddy enduros and every adventure in between, GBrakes supports the off-road community with braking upgrades that don’t just replace stock – they outperform it.
“When you don’t know what nature might throw at you from one mile to the next, confidence in braking performance makes all the difference,” says Sandro Milesi, CEO of GBrakes. “Each of these components build upon each other for a complete system that provides consistent performance in mud, dust, rain and extreme temperatures.”
While each component works together as a system, brake pads are the source of stopping friction. GBrakes offers two compound options: Semi-Metallic and HH Sintered. Semi-Metallic pads are built for riders seeking reliable performance and maximum value, while HH Sintered pads are engineered for optimal stopping power on faster, more demanding trails. Both feature patented NRS® technology, which mechanically locks pad material to the backing plate with integrated hooks for an ultra-durable, one-piece construction.
A natural complement to those pads, GBrakes’ WAVE® rotors come in options suited to different riding demands. Solid-mount rotors offer predictable performance and durability, while floating designs maximize heat dissipation and sustained stopping power. All rotors benefit from GBrakes’ Cryo-Tech® material treatment for improved stress resistance and extended service life.
Pads and rotors may be the most common upgrades, but brake fluid delivery is just as important – and worth reminding customers about. GBrakes’ USA-made off-road brake lines feature a PTFE core wrapped in braided stainless steel, delivering heightened responsiveness that doesn’t diminish over time like OEM lines.
GBrakes rounds out the lineup with advanced coatings and materials that resist corrosion from mud, salt and moisture – adding long-term durability no matter the conditions. Each component is also designed for easy trailside maintenance, simplifying pad swaps and adjustments to keep customers riding longer.
With smooth, predictable engagement, all-weather performance and maximized temperature stability, GBrakes’ dirt and Dual-Sport brake systems are built to handle the harshest conditions from trail to highway. ■

Don’t leave stopping power to chance. GBrakes’ complete brake system gives Dual-Sport and Adventure riders reliable, fade-resistant performance across any terrain or condition.

Brake Upgrades for Can-Am Models
Manufacturers strive for uniqueness to differentiate themselves in the market. Can-Am is a prime example, exploring new corners of the powersports world with its electric motorcycles and adventure-tuned three-wheel vehicles.
EBC Brakes is in lockstep with market evolution, supporting these new models with multiple brake pad and disc options to cover customers’ various riding needs.
“Can-Am riders place very different demands on their braking systems depending on how and where they ride,” says EBC’s Joshua Russell. “By offering FA, HH and EPFA pad options alongside MD and VR discs, EBC allows riders to choose braking components that suit their bike and riding style.”
Electrified riders hitting city streets on the Can-Am Pulse or tackling trails on the Origin model can rely on EBC’s braking performance with its FA organic pads front and rear, or they can add more bite in the front with HH sintered pads.
Tiered brake pad options carry over to Can-Am’s threewheel adventure Canyon models, plus EBC’s precision

Don’t Get Left Stranded
Built for Enduro, Adventure & Everything Between
Afailed drive chain doesn’t just end a ride – it can leave a rider stranded miles from nowhere. Regina has spent more than a century manufacturing premium chains to make sure that doesn’t happen.
Regina’s ZRE and ZRT sealed chains are a prime example of that commitment, delivering power to the rear wheel across dirt and asphalt alike.
“The ‘Z’ represents our Z-ring technology that delivers a proven balance of performance and durability,” says Federico Gualdi of Regina. “The key is the patented shape of the rubber seals that creates a flexing, spring effect, reducing chain wear and enhancing flexibility.”
The ZRE chain was built with enduro in mind – a discipline that is unforgiving to every component on the bike. Special heat treatment of the pins boosts impact absorption, providing reliable protection in unpredictable off-road conditions.
