A Miracle Between Appointments

“Melody called earlier this week to thank us for our love gift to the JOY FM Spring Fundraiser. She also asked if we needed prayers. We had just learned that Tom’s mother, age 92, had fallen and fractured her hip. Yesterday she saw the orthopedic surgeon and he pronounced, “The bone is not broken!” Something happened between the Urgent Care visit and the surgeon visit!! Praise God!! We are all overcome with gratitude and rejoicing in the miracle! Thank you all for praying over mom, over us, and let this power up your Easter weekend! The Lord is Risen!” –Helen Hertzler

Hold Him Up, Lord

“By now, many people have seen the pictures and videos of the events surrounding the parachute jumpers in Blacksburg, VA this past Saturday. Standing in that stadium, all I could do was pray that God would hold up that gentleman until the first responders could safely reach him and return him to safety.

On Saturday, April 18th, God showed up in that stadium filled with people who thought they were there to witness a football game.

Had the parachute not been blown back into the sign, the jumper would have landed in the concrete stands. While nearly every one has seen the pictures and videos of the parachute incident, what they don’t see is the hundreds of Corps of Cadet members positioned on the football field as the paratroopers jumped into the stadium. Some cadets have already trained for such jumps while others have yet to complete their training. What I hope they saw on Saturday was not just an emergency incident, but I hope they saw that God showed up for those men. I hope they understand that he will show up for them, too, no matter the circumstances.

I support Joy FM because it reminds me daily that, “what matters to me, matters to the Master.” When I stood there simply asking God to “ hold him up”, I knew in those moments that God was present in that situation. At times, there was only inches of material holding that man tight, I’ve never counted on the corner of the letter “H” more in my life than I did on Saturday.”

The Song That Brought Her to Tears A Daily Source of Peace and Encouragement

“Hi, my name is Kat. Love your station. I was driving this morning on my way to a doctor’s appointment and around 10:15 or so a song came on I never heard before. You see, I lost my dad back in August and we were very close. This song was about seeing each other again. I cried the whole time that song was playing. I thought of my dad. If you can help me with the name and the artist I would very much appreciate it. Thank you so much for the work you do. God bless you richly.”

It was a wonderful night filled with powerful music, heartfelt worship, and meaningful connections with listeners from across the region.

Brendan and Wendy joined the Albemarle community for an inspiring evening at Relay for Life, celebrating survivors, honoring loved ones, and supporting the fight against cancer.

Joy FM enjoyed spending time with Chad Roberts, author of Blind Faith: Seeing God Through Darkness, and hearing his powerful story of faith, perseverance, and trusting God through life’s challenges.

Joy FM Shines at Singing in the Sun

A listener recently shared these photos from Singing in the Sun in Myrtle Beach, SC, where Joy FM was featured throughout the week. Our station slides and logo graphics were displayed on the big screens during the event, helping spread the ministry’s message to thousands in attendance. With nearly 10,000 people participating throughout the week, it was an exciting opportunity to extend the reach of Joy FM and connect with Southern Gospel fans from across the region.

We Could Not Have Done it Without YOU!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Joy FM listeners, donors, and Food Lion shoppers, our May 2 Food Drive collected 10 large tubs of food, 7 reusable grocery bags full of donations, and a $100 Food Lion gift card for the Forsyth Backpack Program. Thank you for helping us share Christ’s love in a practical way with children and families in need!

More Than Just Tickets

Travis stopped by to deliver a thank-you card after his wife won tickets to Singing in the Sun. Thanks to the giveaway, they were able to attend the event for the very first time and make memories they’ll never forget.

More Than Just a Picnic

Our Joy FM family enjoyed a wonderful time of fellowship at the picnic, but God had something even greater in store. During the event, we had the opportunity to connect with a couple who were simply spending the day at the park with their children. What began as a casual encounter became a chance to share God’s love, offer encouragement, and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Moments like these remind us that God is always at work, opening doors for ministry in unexpected places. We give Him all the glory for the opportunities and blessings He places in our path.

“Dear Joy FM, staff I just can’t find words to express my gratitude to Joy FM for the music and everything Joy FM brings in my life. I lost my husband 9 years ago, and my brother and sister in 2024. Growing Joy, One Heart at a Time

Wendy recently had the privilege of visiting this sweet listener who tunes in to Joy FM every day on her beloved red radio—her favorite color! During our visit, she proudly showed me the heart-shaped seed paper she received from Joy FM. Planted in a flowerpot shaped like a heart, it has already begun to grow, serving as a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the seeds of hope He plants in our lives.

She was also thrilled to receive a Joy FM T-shirt and was so excited that she put it on right away! More than anything, though, I treasured the time we spent together. Her joy, faith, and encouragement were a blessing to my heart and a wonderful reminder of the incredible listeners who make up the Joy FM family.

An Evening of Music and Ministry

Joy FM was honored to be part of a wonderful evening at the Pulaski Theatre with Sound Street. It was a joy to meet so many listeners, share fellowship, and enjoy an inspiring night of music from a talented group dedicated to using their gifts to glorify the Lord.

Events like these are a special reminder of the connection we share as the Joy FM family and the power of music to encourage hearts and point people to Christ.

What Happened to Brendan’s Office? Joy FM is all about building each other up and offering encouragement even to our own Brendan Beavers! Melody and Shelley decorated his new cubicle to match his amazing personality, love for football, and his love for Jesus!

He was so surprised and happy to see what Melody and Shelley did for him!

Joy FM Meets “Prime Timers”

Melody, Meredith, and Wendy had a wonderful time visiting the “Prime Timers” at Beulah United Church of Christ in Lexington, NC. We gave a presentation about Joy FM and all the missions that Joy FM does to uplift and encourage our listeners. They were some very sweet and amazing people!

We had a sweet family to drive all the way up from Jefferson, SC to visit NC for a week, with a special surprise for the boys to visit Joy FM! The boys listen to us all the time and were really excited to meet everyone. They enjoyed a behind the scenes look at how everything is recorded and placed on air. Their father loved seeing the scripture on the back of the van.
