“Miriam is a longtime friend of Joy FM—truly part of our family. Recently, her home caught fire, but by God’s grace it was discovered quickly, and her family was able to get out safely without injury. While the house did suffer some fire and smoke damage, we are so thankful for His protection. Later that same day, Miriam was listening to Joy FM and shared this message with us: “I’ve been listening to your program, Josh, and thank you for the encouraging verse. I’ve been so emotional lately, and that verse truly touched my heart. Thank you.” It’s a beautiful reminder that God is faithful in both the big moments—like protecting a family in a dangerous situation—and the small ones, like sending just the right verse to bring peace to a weary heart. God is so good.”

A Faithful Witness in the Midst of Crisis “We recently spoke with Joy FM listener Zula Parker, who shared a powerful story of faith. On January 12, after hearing a message on Joy FM about always being ready to witness, she was involved in a serious car accident that totaled her vehicle. By God’s grace, she suffered only minor injuries. Remembering the message she had just heard, Zula chose to share her faith right there at the scene—speaking with EMTs, police, and others. Before leaving, a man approached her to say her joyful witness strengthened his faith after recently giving his life to Christ. Zula wanted us to know: people are listening, and God is using Joy FM to make a difference every day.”

Finding Comfort Through Every Season “A listener recently called the station to share how much Joy FM means to her. After the heartbreaking loss of her husband, mother, and daughter, she said Joy FM is all she listens to throughout the day and has helped carry her through this incredibly difficult time. She called simply to express her love and heartfelt gratitude.”

Carried Through a Difficult Season “Daniel from Taylorsville recently called to share how much Joy FM means to him. After making a generous pledge during the fall fundraiser, he was seriously injured in an accident caused by a distracted driver and required surgery. He is now recovering at home. Daniel called to fulfill his pledge and to thank Joy FM for helping carry him through such a difficult time. He shared that he listens every day, all day, and that the station means so much to him. He also recalled how Wendy helped him with concert tickets last April—an experience he said made a lasting impact on his life. Daniel asked for prayer for his son—that he would come to know the Lord, stay away from drugs, and return home so they can walk in faith together.”

More messages from you! From Overwhelmed to Overjoyed

“I have been fretting all week about the impending weather situation and the fact I had a very important appointment on Monday with a family member we couldn’t miss. There were a lot of hoops we were going through to make it to the appointment. I was feeling completely overwhelmed. This morning while I was on the way to work Melody shared the verse “Be still and know that I am God,” and explained that “be still” in Hebrew meant “let go,” and it completely connected with me. I knew it was just what I had to do with my situation, so I completely “let go” and released it to God. Within just a few hours I heard Monday’s appointment was actually scheduled for Tuesday and I rejoiced, knowing immediately how God had worked in the situation and relieved my overwhelmed situation. My family member had gotten the appointment reminder and realized we had the wrong date. God’s intervention saved us a wasted trip and so many hoops we would have had to go through to get there. Indeed, “let go” and give it to Him. The one who knows all things.” -Melissa

The Songs That Carried Him Through “My (late) wife was in the hospital in Elkin, NC suffering with terminal cancer. She had a blood transfusion and for some reason she was in a deep sleep, not quite a coma. I sat with her for three days like that. When I came in Friday morning, she was alert and sitting up. Unfortunately, she was only able to converse in her native Korean language. One of the biggest sins of our marriage was my failure to learn her language. On Sunday morning as I was pulling into the parking lot, Adam and Amanda Crabb were singing ‘I Need a Miracle Today.’ I parked my truck and prayed that song with them. When I walked into her room she was once again speaking English. I lost her August 20th, 2020. As I was leaving the cemetery, again listening to JOY FM, the Triumphant Quartet was singing, ‘I’m Going There.’ I know she was going there and I am waiting for the day when I can go there to be with her again. Both these times I am extremely grateful to JOY FM for the comfort they brought me.” -Jonathan

“Good Morning, I was sitting at my desk, listening to you all on the Morning Joy Ride, talking about how people are preparing for this winter storm. As I was in the grocery store yesterday, seeing all the posts on social media about the shelves being cleared, just everyone rushing to be sure they have everything they need for the storm—preparing for how much snow and or ice they will get it—I was thinking how many are preparing for THE RETURN of Jesus, are they ready, how’s their relationship with Him, are they rushing to be sure when the trumpet sounds they are prepared to go meet Him in the air, or will they be left behind with NOTHING? How Joy FM Brought Comfort in a Final Goodbye (From a donor’s daughter: In his final moments, her father listened to Joy FM, going to heaven with “The Promise” playing.)

“Hi Wendy, My mom, Faye, asked me to email you so she could get a form for a day sponsorship and also the copy of what Joy FM is going to share on my dad’s birthday. I am grateful for the support and prayers you have given my mom over the past months since my dad’s unexpected death. Not sure if she has shared with you but her and my dad played Joy FM in their house 24/ 7 and she continues to do so. When my dad was moved to the hospice floor my mom asked them to turn on Joy FM for him. “The Promise,” which was one of his favorite songs, is this last one he heard before he went to his heavenly home. Thank you for everything you and your staff do to keep spreading the wonderful name of Jesus. Praying he will continue to richly bless your ministry. Love In Christ, Crissy .”

This is Mrs. Judy (left). Josh and Wendy have had the privilege of getting to know this sweet lady, who experienced a tremendous loss when her son passed away in an accident. She shared that listening to Joy FM helped carry her through some of her hardest days of grief. Mrs. Judy is such a beautiful reminder of why we do this ministry— to keep shining the light of Jesus as we run the race set before us.
