In May 1973, Frank Farnsworth began mining Idaho Opal in Spencer, ID and set the foundation of Idaho Opal & Gem.
Parlé became a charter member of the American Gem Trade Association.

Frank attended Tucson for the rst time. He began to cut and sell Australian Opal.
e selling of intarsia grew the company in the late ‘80’s and 90’s.
