Previewing the 2024–25 Annual Report on Philanthropy

This material and more will appear in print later this fall.

Dear Friends of Park,

On behalf of the Park Development Team and Board of Trustees, it is our sincere pleasure to celebrate the 2024–25 year in philanthropy at The Park School. And what a year it was!

As you read the pages ahead, we invite you to reflect on your impact and our impact. At Park, each of us gives to the School in a personally meaningful, unique way—and collectively, we fuel all that makes Park the exceptional PreK–8 institution we know it to be. Thank you for all the ways you give to Park, in support of our students, our faculty, and our community. Together, we continue Park’s long, proud tradition of transformative philanthropy and loyal engagement.

Financial Impact

Last year, we raised $8,510,467 in gifts and pledges to sustain the mission and advance the goals of The Park School. This inspiring total makes 2024–25 the third most successful fundraising year in Park history!

The SPARK Campaign was reignited as fundraising began for Phase III, SPARK’s final chapter. In just a few months, early support topped $5M and the Board of Trustees enthusiastically voted to move forward with the first wave of construction in the summer of 2025. We are deeply grateful for the trailblazing leadership of these Phase III supporters who carried forward the spirit of generosity demonstrated by so many before in Phases I and II. As of September 1, 2025, The SPARK Campaign has raised $19,335,504 for our students, faculty, and community. And Phase III is just beginning!

The Annual Fund is the foundation of philanthropy at Park. In 2024–25, we raised $2,157,429 for the Annual Fund from 1,021 donors—our strongest outcome since 2022. We are pleased to see encouraging trends community wide, with support from our alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparent communities growing meaningfully in recent years. Undoubtedly, our successful Giving Day and Alumni Reunion programs are a catalyst for this growth. Giving Day 2025 again broke records, with an impressive 535 donors stepping forward to support the School!

The collective impact and strength of the Park community is clear in these outcomes, and across our Development program. Whether you made a new pledge to The SPARK Campaign, celebrated your Reunion with a gift to the School, made a gift to honor your grandchild, or otherwise supported Park with a financial gift or gifts, thank you so very much.

Volunteerism

Volunteerism is deeply rooted and valued in Park’s school culture. Hundreds of community members share the gift of time each year to help make Park, “Park.” Whether you toured prospective families, helped create the magic of Springfest, authored a piece for Park Perspectives, or volunteered your time in another of the myriad ways that Park community members do, you gave to the School in 2024–25. Thank you!

We would like to especially acknowledge and appreciate the volunteerism of the leaders listed below. Their partnership is the cornerstone of Park’s Development program.

• Major Gift Committee Co-chairs: Liz Morningstar P’28, ’25 and Josh Leffler P’35, ’33, ’31

• Annual Fund Co-chairs: Darline and Ramsay Cadet P’30, ’20 and Amanda and Campe Goodman P’31, ’29, ’27

• Alumni Committee Co-chairs: Astrid Levis-Thorne Burns ’98 P’30, ’28 and Alexandra Connors Craig ’99 P’29, ’27

The following pages highlight additional celebrations of volunteerism at Park and feature a profile of our very first recipient of the Puddingstone Prize.

Community and Connection

At Park, we know our commitment to building community and connection sets us apart. On campus, in greater Boston, and even beyond Massachusetts, Park people come together in big and small ways all through the year. In 2024–25, highlights included our first visit to New York City since the pandemic, the launch of our community networking directory, and our summer hard hat tour series which offered a sneak peek at the new spaces brought to life by SPARK. As we move into Phase III, we are excited by all the ways that The SPARK Campaign will foster community and connection, in addition to the beloved annual events we hold so dear. Your efforts to sustain your connection to Park—by attending events, submitting Class Notes, sharing your expertise, or in any other way—are seen and appreciated. Thank you.

With deep appreciation for your support last year and great enthusiasm for all that is ahead in 2025–26!

Sincerely,

James Benenson P’29, ’26, ’24 Development Committee Co-chair

Kelly Caiazzo P’26, ’25 Development Committee Co-chair

ANNUAL FUND VOLUNTEERS 2024–25

The Park School is distinguished by its long-standing tradition of dedicated volunteerism. Each year, we are fortunate that parents, guardians, and alumni commit themselves in support of the Annual Fund. In addition to their own philanthropic contributions, Annual Fund volunteers devote their time and expertise to advancing the School’s mission. Their efforts include engaging in personal outreach and peer solicitation, assisting with the Phonathon and Giving Day initiatives, participating in meetings, providing thoughtful feedback, and attending events that foster community and strengthen support for the Annual Fund.

Our strong Annual Fund outcomes would not be possible without the dedication of these individuals. We extend our sincere gratitude to the volunteers listed below for ensuring the financial foundation that makes a Park education possible.

“Our family chooses to contribute to the Annual Fund because we deeply believe in supporting the Park community that nurtures and educates our children. Park has given our children so much— exceptional teachers, meaningful experiences, and a sense of belonging—and we feel a strong responsibility to help ensure that continues for every child. Supporting the Annual Fund is more than a donation to us; it’s an investment in a place and a mission we care about profoundly. Giving back is our way of saying thank you and helping to strengthen the School for all families, now and in the future.”

Puddingstone Prize

Like the puddingstone on which the School is built, philanthropy, in the form of volunteerism and community investment, is foundational at Park. At the 2025 Puddingstone Party in May, we introduced a new celebration of volunteerism—the Puddingstone Prize! Attendees who volunteered during the 2024–25 school year were eligible to win a newly-crafted trophy featuring a piece of Roxbury puddingstone sourced directly from campus. Park parent and alum Brianna Connolly ’01, P’34 was our first-ever winner. We are pleased to spotlight her and her service to Park in the interview below with Shannon O’Leary, Park’s Director of Development. We look forward to passing along this coveted trophy to a new winner in 2026!

SHANNON : The 2024-25 school year was your first as a Park parent, though you are far from new to the Park community! Tell us about your connection to the School and your decision to pursue a Park education for your daughter, Finley.

BRIANNA: I was lucky enough to begin my own Park journey as a PreK student many years ago. I spent all of my elementary and middle school years at Park, alongside my older sister, Caitlin, and my mother, Alison Connolly, a faculty member at Park for 30 years! When it came time to look at schools for Finley, I knew right away that I wanted to give her the same opportunities and sense of community that I was so fortunate to have growing up!

SHANNON: You are the first-ever recipient of the Puddingstone Prize, a new way in which we will celebrate the immeasurable impact of volunteerism at Park. How have you been involved as a volunteer at Park, and what inspired you to support the School in these ways?

BRIANNA: This past year I was able to volunteer in a few different ways. I spent some time in the library, and helped at Springfest and with the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunch. One of my favorite experiences was helping out with admissions and meeting families that were applying to Park. It was fun and rewarding to be able to share my experiences and what Park means to me, while hearing the reasons other families were choosing to pursue a Park education for their children!

SHANNON: How has your service to Park influenced the way you experience the School and community?

BRIANNA: For me, volunteering has been a great way to meet people and feel more integrated in the community, especially as a new family! Through volunteering I have connected with families from many different grade levels and met numerous faculty members, while learning more about the School and all the changes since my time as a student. One of the great things about Park is there are so many different ways to volunteer, so despite having a busy and inconsistent work schedule, I was often able to find ways to help.

SHANNON: Thank you, Brianna, for your service and for allowing us to spotlight your story. Would you like to pass the spotlight and celebrate another Park volunteer or volunteer opportunity?

BRIANNA: My mom! In retirement, she stays connected to Park through her grandchildren, and as a library volunteer!

BRIANNA CONNOLLY ’01, P’34
